Midnight Mass live from the Cathedral in Hagatna
KUAM will be carrying Midnight Mass live from the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral Basilica beginning at 11:30pm on Saturday, December 24 on KUAM-TV8 on Guam cable systems and online via YouTube. The annual Christmas service begins with The Service of Light and Blessing of the Christmas Manger followed by the Mass.
The main celebrant will be Father Paul Gofigan, Rector of the Cathedral.
WWII survivors mass from Hagatna
KUAM will broadcast the Mass in honor of Guam's World War II Survivors on Thursday, December 8 at 9:30am at the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral Basilica in Hagatna. The Mass will be broadcast on KUAM TV8 and streamed LIVE on our YouTube channel.
This year marks the 75th Anniversary of the WWII Japanese invasion of Guam on December 8, 1941.
The Mass will be celebrated by Coadjutor Archbishop Michael Byrnes.

Ep4) 괌 여행 총정리 _ 사랑의 절벽, 하갓냐, 아가냐 대성당. Two lovers point, Guam
괌 여행 브이로그 입니다.
가장 처음에 한 것은 렌트카를 빌린 것이고,
렌트카를 타고 처음 간 곳은 사랑의 절벽이라는 곳이다.
괌은 워낙 도로가 간단해서 구글 지도를 켜서 따라가다 보면 절대 길을 잃을 일은 없다.
영어로는 two lovers point.
한글로 사랑의 절벽이라고 써있지 않고, Two lovers point라고 써있으니, 당황하지 말고 따라가면 된다.
사랑하는 두 사람의 포.인.트 가 되는 장소인가보다.
괌 북부, 투몬 베이를 따라서 난 이 절벽은, 애틋한 이야기로 더 유명하다.
오래전 스페인이 괌을 통치하던 시절, 한 차모로족 여인이 스페인 장교와 강제적으로 결혼을 하게 되었는데,
그 여인은 이미 다른 누군가와 사랑하는 사이었고,
그래서 그 둘은 함께 섬을 탈출 하려다가 이 절벽까지 오게 되었다고 한다.
하지만 더이상 갈곳이 없어진 두 사람은, 영원한 사랑을 다짐하며 서로의 머리를 묶고 바다로 몸을 던졌다고 한다.
이후 사람들은
결코 헤어지지 않을 영원한 사랑의 다짐을 하기 위해 이 장소를 찾는다고 한다.
그래서일까, 사랑의 절벽 입구에 서있는 동상은 머리가 뒤엉켜 있다.
사랑의 절벽을 나오면 사람들이 종 앞에 줄지어 서있는데,
이 종은 일본에서 기증한 것이라고 한다.
이 사랑의 종에는 바닷속으로 함께 뛰어든 두 연인의 영혼이 담겨 있어서
연인과 함께 종을 치면 영원한 사랑을 나눌 수 있다고 한다.
종소리는 언제나 들어도 아름답다.
그 옆에는 기념품 가게가 있다. 눈에 들어온 것은 코인노래방이 아닌, 코인 뽑기.
페니와 쿼터를 넣고 밀어넣으면 이렇게 생긴 멋진 코인 기념품을 얻을 수 있다.
다음으로 우리가 찾은곳은 아가나 대성당.
괌 최대 규모의 성당으로, 신성한 17세기의 동상과 스테인드 글라스 창으로 장엄하고 웅장한 모습을 드러내는 아주 멋진 곳이다.
날씨 좋은 날 푸른 잔디밭에서 사진 한컷. 인생샷을 건지기도 정말 좋은 장소이다.
여행객은 미사에는 참여할 수 없지만 내부를 구경하는 건 가능하다.
그렇기 때문에 주말보다는 평일에 가는것이 좋다.
지키는 사람은 없지만 입장료를 넣는곳이 있으니, 입장료는 양심에 맡기기로 한다.
