The best of lyrics ... indeed..
... ''Are you going away with no word of farewell,
Will there be not a trace left behind?
I could have loved you better, didn't mean to be unkind.
You know that was the last thing on my mind....

Unboxing Ireland: Kitesurfing Duncannon Co Wexford
Unboxing Ireland is a meander around the country (usually by slow bicycle) uncovering lesser-known places and events. This is a visit to the annual kitesurfing festival in Duncannon, Co. Wexford in the Republic of Ireland.
The village is a popular tourist resort that every year hosts a sandsculpting festival and a kitesurfing competition known as Hooked Kitefest. (Village is on the Hook Peninsula. Which, apparently, where the phrase 'by Hook or by Crook' came from.
Duncannon has one of the best beaches in the country and provides an ideal summer's day in Ireland.

This video was taken one beautiful Saturday 30th June 2018,. We had been working in a park in Morriscastle, on cherry pickers earlier that week. Up where the sun takes no prisoners. During this brilliant weather, while adjusting equipment on holiday parks are unable to take footage, we're just too busy. We like to have time to meet and talk to the resident. So on one of the days off (busman's holiday), we had a little fly.

Ireland Road Trip - visiting Duncannon Beach
Ireland Road Trip - visiting Duncannon Beach
In this episode we continue our Ireland Road trip, leaving the Wild Atlantic Way behind. We arrive at the beautiful beach of Bunmahon beach. During our time there we had the pleasure of meeting a sand artist called Manu.
The next morning we left Bunmahon beach and continued east along the Irish coast towards Duncannon Beach.
We had hooked up, through social media, with a group called The Wild Adventure Way, They source and promote adventure activities for people of all ages and abilities, throughout Ireland. So we arranged to meet them at Duncannon Beach where there was a Kite Surfing Festival.
We arrived at Duncannon Beach and were delighted that we were able to drive onto the beach and sleep there for the night. What a wonderful spot. We ended up staying 2 nights as we had so much fun.
The first day the wind was not strong enough for the event but we had a fab day enjoying the beach and catching up with Caroline and others from the Wild Adventure Way.
The next morning we were pleased to meet up with Manu again - the sand artist we had met at Bunmahon Beach. He had come down to the beach with his family and he then shot off to get creative.
It was an absolute honour to have Manu draw us a TREAD the Globe sand drawing. We couldn't believe how large, symmetrical and skilled the picture was. We sent Doris the drone up to take some aerial shots . Thank you Manu it was so kind of you !!!!
If you want to see more examples of Manu's art then check out his Facebook page :
If you would like to know more about the Wild Adventure Way -
Later in the day the wind picked up a bit and some of the kite surfers headed out, which was great to watch.
