Dundurn Castle's Wedding Ghost - - Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
Dundurn Castle is a national historic site for Canada, and a point of pride for all of Hamilton.
Oh, and it's haunted! They don't want you to know. This story was covered by the Hamilton Spectator, and later featured on CHCH.
Here we have Daniel of the Ghost Walks presenting the story in his own words, and the evidence of the Houdini-like ghost of Sophia MacNab.

Dundurn Castle: A National Historic Site in Hamilton, Ontario
Took the drone to Dundurn Castle in Hamilton, Ontario and made a little video of the castle itself and surrounding grounds.
Dundurn Castle is a National Historic Site in Canada and one of the best things to do in Hamilton as well.
I was lucky that there wasn't anywhere there so I had the whole place to myself to just fly my drone around and have fun.
Parking is free and there are plenty of walking trails, view points and other cool things to check out on the grounds along with the castle itself.
Dundurn Castle was built in the 1830s as an Italianate-style villa. The property features 40 rooms and covers more than 18,000 square feet of space. It cost more than $175,000 to build at the time and took 3 years to complete.
In 1900 the castle was purchased by the city of Hamilton. It was opened to the public as a museum and historic site. These days it's possible to go on a guided tour of the inside and it's free to explore the grounds.

Dundurn Castle - Hamilton, Ontario
I hope you enjoy this little peek at one of my favourite places to visit in southern Ontario. Every time I go, I see or learn something new. This Canadian National Historic Site is not really a castle at all. Dundurn Castle was built by Sir Allan Napier MacNab, and completed in 1835 at a cost of $175,000.00. Seventy-two rooms made up its 18,000-square-footage (1,700 square metres) and 42 of them are now open to the public after being restored to what they would have been in 1855. Sir John A. MacDonald, first Prime Minister of Canada, and England's King George VII were among those entertained there.
Some interesting facts from the tour:
-- Dundurn Castle was the first home in the province to have gas lighting and running water. The water was pumped through the house by a young boy who earned $2.00 per month for his service.
-- The Scullery Maid was a young girl of 9 or 10. She washed the dishes from the entire household's seven meals each day. Her wage -- $1.30 per month.
-- Refined sugar was delivered in a solid, paper-wrapped cone. It was shaved or chipped off when needed. The cost of a cone of sugar - $75.00. The cost of a new home - $100.00.
-- Sir Allan MacNab was often accused of treating his servants too well. :)
The Victorian Kitchen Garden was a project undertaken by the City of Hamilton as part of the restoration. This formal garden is walled in Scottish fashion, and has a series of walkways and beds full of fruit, flowers, herbs and vegetables that would have been grown during Sir Allan NacNab's lifetime at Dundurn. The garden is maintained the old fashioned way by hand, and all natural.

Dundurn Castle Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Tourism
Dundurn Castle is a historic neoclassical mansion on York Boulevard in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The 18,000-square-foot (1,700 m2) house took three years and $175,000 to build, and was completed in 1835.[1] The forty room castle featured the latest conveniences of gas lighting and running water.[1] It is currently owned by the City of Hamilton, which purchased it in 1899 or 1900 for $50,000.[2][1] The City has spent nearly $3 million renovating the site to make it open to the public.[1] The rooms have been restored to the year 1855 when its owner Sir Allan Napier MacNab, 1st Baronet, was at the height of his career. Costumed interpreters guide visitors through the home, illustrating daily life from the 1850s. The Duchess of Cornwall, a descendant of Sir Allan MacNab, is the Royal Patron of Dundurn Castle.

I flew my Mavic Pro at Dundurn Castle in Hamilton. The weather was overcast and windy, but the Mavic performed well. I shot at ISO 100 with a frame rate of 24 and a shutter speed of 50. I also had a ND 4 filter on the lens.

Experience a guided tour of this 40-room Italianate-style villa built in the 1830’s on Burlington Heights; the former site of a fortified military encampment established by the British in 1813.
Once home to Sir Allan Napier MacNab, railway magnate, lawyer and Premier of the United Canadas (1854-1856) and his family, today Dundurn Castle tells the story of the family who lived above stairs and the servants who lived and worked below stairs to support their affluent lifestyle. Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall is the museum’s Patron and the great, great, great granddaughter of Sir Allan MacNab.
