The path to non civilization. This walk is approx 24km eventually takes you through the valley of the Cullin Hills to the best view point but is a walk back in time. Is like earth is talking you and is telling you how it was even before human were here millions years ago. It was an isolate walk and felt so powerful. Me and mother earth! 360° view from the top Sgurr na Stri may be only 484m high but on a clear day you couldn't get closer to heaven???? according to walkers is Britain's finest viewpoint!
Clan MacDonald of Sleat Castle Isle Of Skye Inner Hebrides Scotland
Tour Scotland travel video of the Clan MacDonald of Sleat Castle, with Scottish bagpipes and drums music, on ancestry visit to the North Coast of the Isle Of Skye, Inner Hebrides. The castle was built in the 14th and 15th centuries, when the area was subject to feuds between the rival MacLeod and Macdonald clans. The defences were improved in the 16th century, and by the early 17th century the MacDonalds had finally gained the upper hand in the area. In 1618 the Privy Council and Sir Donald MacDonald of Sleat, Donald Gorm Og , the 9th chief, signed a charter, requiring him to repair Duntulm. Around 1732 the castle was abandoned, when Sir Alexander MacDonald built a new residence, Monkstadt House, 5 miles to the south, robbing much of the castle's stone as building material. According to one local legend, the castle was abandoned after the infant son of the chieftain who dwelt there at the time, in the charge of a nursemaid, fell from a window and was dashed on the rocks below. As a punishment, the nursemaid was set adrift on the North Atlantic in a small boat
Invergarry Castle Ruins
Invergarry Castle was the seat of the Chiefs of the MacDonells of Glengarry, a powerful branch of the Clan Donald, known as the Clan Ranald of Knoydart and Glengarry. Its situation on Creagan an Fhithich - the Raven's Rock - overlooking Loch Oich in the Great Glen, was a strategic one in the days of clan feuds and Jacobite risings.

Orford castle, suffolk, UK
It does not look very big, tall yes, but you will be amazed at the amount of rooms etc there are inside. It is a typical fortification, the bedrooms(?) are basic, just enough room for a bed, and the halls are functional. This is not a place for entertaining, it is what it is.... a defensive castle.
STROME CASTLE
Strome castle ruins are located on the shore of Loch Carron. The Strome castle was built in 15th century.
The mystery of Lamlash Castle
Most people have heard of Brodick, Kildonan and Lochranza castles, but what about one at Lamlash? Is there any evidence to suggest that there was once a Lamlash Castle? The answer might surprise you as we examine the case of the mystery of Lamlash Castle.

The Isle of Skye, connected to Scotland's northwest coast by bridge, is known for its rugged landscapes, picturesque fishing villages and medieval castles. The largest island in the Inner Hebrides archipelago, it has an indented coastline of peninsulas and narrow lochs, radiating out from a mountainous interior. The town of Portree, a base for exploring the island, features harbourside pubs and boutiques.
Isle of Skye is the largest and northernmost of the major islands in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. The island's peninsulas radiate from a mountainous centre dominated by the Cuillins, the rocky slopes of which provide some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the country. Although it has been suggested that the Gaelic Sgitheanach describes a winged shape there is no definitive agreement as to the name's origins.
The main industries are tourism, agriculture, fishing and forestry. Skye is part of the Highland Council local government area. The island's largest settlement is Portree, known for its picturesque harbour. There are links to various nearby islands by ferry and, since 1995, to the mainland by a road bridge. The climate is mild, wet and windy. The abundant wildlife includes the golden eagle, red deer and Atlantic salmon. The local flora are dominated by heather moor, and there are nationally important invertebrate populations on the surrounding sea bed. Skye has provided the locations for various novels and feature films and is celebrated in poetry and song.
Portree in the north at the base of Trotternish is the largest settlement and is the main service centre on the island. Broadford, the location of the island's only airstrip, is on the east side of the island and Dunvegan in the north-west is well known for its castle and the nearby Three Chimneys restaurant. The 18th-century Stein Inn on the Waternish coast is the oldest pub on Skye. Kyleakin is linked to Kyle of Lochalsh on the mainland by the Skye Bridge, which spans the narrows of Loch Alsh. Uig, the port for ferries to the Outer Hebrides, is on the west of the Trotternish peninsula and Edinbane is between Dunvegan and Portree. Much of the rest of the population lives in crofting townships scattered around the coastline.
Skye is linked to the mainland by the Skye Bridge, while ferries sail from Armadale on the island to Mallaig, and from Kylerhea to Glenelg. Ferries also run from Uig to Tarbert on Harris and Lochmaddy on North Uist, and from Sconser to Raasay. The Isle of Skye Airfield at Ashaig, near Broadford, is used by private aircraft and occasionally by NHS Highland and the Scottish Ambulance Service for transferring patients to hospitals on the mainland.

UK & South Ireland Trip, 15 - 28 August 2015
This pretty much sums up my trip to London, Scotland and Ireland from 15 - 28 August 2015. Missing the clear blue skies, green grass, cool weather and the carefree life!
This was the first time...
-Visiting the United Kingdom (London, Scotland, North Ireland) and South Ireland.
-Doing a self-drive road trip.
-Receiving a speeding fine overseas.
-Encountering a closed hotel even though we had a booking.
-Getting in a car accident.
And grateful that although so many things had happened in this trip, my friends and I are back home safely.
