Casa do Jardim, Garden House restaurant at Jardim Duque da Terceira
Casa do Jardim (Garden House) is an organic vegetarian restaurant is located mid-level on the multi-level Jardim Duque da Terceira (Duke of Terceira Garden) in the city of Angra do Heroismo. It is a multifaceted space where, in addition to being served daily meals made with organic products, they have a comfortable sitting area for eating or reading (LittleFreeLibrary.org – “Take a Book – Return a Book”) and they also sell gourmet products and articles of decoration.
Poinsettias (Euphorbia pulcherrima)
Loureiro (Laurus nobilis)
Plumeria (Plumeria rubra).

Main Square and City Hall of Angra do Heroismo on the Island of Terceira
Our guide took us to the Main Square and City Hall on our walking tour of the City of Angra do Heroismo on the Island of Terceira. She told us that the Necklace of the Cross that was awarded to the city by Queen Dona Maria II, daughter of Dom Pedro, is on display in City Hall. Our location was central to the nearby Jardim Duque da Terceira (Duke of Terceira Garden) and the ocean, the original port of the City of Angra do Heroismo with a statue honoring the Portuguese explorer, Vasco da Gama. Our guide also pointed straight ahead to tell us that our hotel was within walking distance when we wanted to return to the city. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Terceira Mar Hotel.
Q.B. Restaurant - Angra do Heroismo on the Island of Terceira (no sound)
We first walked to Q.B. Restaurant for lunch which was delicious. From our hotel, Terceira Mar Hotel, it is in the opposite direction from the city. We dined upstairs and Victor was such a smiling, gracious, and kind person who served us. He is a delightful person. We returned another day for dinner and you can see what we ate as shown in this video. It was a joy to be with Victor again. He represents the wonderful people on the Island of Terceira.
Description:
Q. B. – Food Court
A beautiful multi-purpose property, which highlights the main house, the restaurant Q. B. – Food Court is divided into two areas (as well) different. On the ground floor, with terrace and garden, playground, serves light meals, while on the upper floor, only to dining, you come to the table a cuisine well prepared, and signed by the young chef, Paul Lawrence. It is, perhaps, the most elegant of the restaurants of the island, with attentive service and proposals, sometimes bold, but well-acted, that recreate the recipes azores, with techniques and contemporary presentation.
Angra do Heroismo (Azores' Islands) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Angra do Heroismo in Azores’ Islands.
Terceira is one of the Azores’ Islands within the Atlantic Ocean situated around fifteen hundred kilometres from the Portuguese mainland with Angra Do Heroismo as its capital. In the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries it was an important port of call for numerous trading ships and a junction for three continents. As in Europe, the foul air of mediaeval times once filled through the city’s narrow alleys but eventually a beautiful Renaissance city was created along with many fine churches. In the centre of the old town is the Jardim Duque Da Terceira, a well laid out garden with tangled pathways, fountains and an abundance of flowers. According to age old tradition almost each one of the island’s communes has its own Tourada Á Corda, a non-bloody bullfight during which the men await the bulls in the alleys and each bull has a rope tied around its neck to facilitate capture. Angra Do Heroimo, Anchor Of Heroism, created to serve the needs of those who travel the mighty ocean!

Catedral de Angra do Heroismo on the Island of Terceira in the Azores
On a walking tour of the city of Angra do Heroismo, we first saw the Cathedral of Angra at a distance from the top of Jardim Duque da Terceira (Duke of Terceira Garden). Our guide then took us to the steps of the cathedral
Description:
The Angra do Heroísmo Cathedral is the biggest Temple and one of the main monuments of this lovely town, classified by UNESCO as World Heritage, situated in the gorgeous Terceira Island, on the Azores Archipelago.
The present temple would have been built over the previous São Salvador Church, dated probably from 1496, yet small for the prescent population of Angra do Heroísmo, that was by then affirming its power and expansion. From this previous temple is left the main altar.
In 1570 started the temple’s construction, in a majestic style, and in the 20th century several conservation works were made, as the natural catastrophes, namely the 1980 big earthquake and a big fire in 1984, caused serious harm in the building.
The Angra do Heroísmo Cathedral is characterized by its sober façade with two bell towers and presents a lovely interior with cedar sculpted ceiling, 17th century glazed tiles, furniture in jacaranda wood and the famous pipe organ with big dimensions.

Jardim Duque da Terceira - more history and sights - from the top to the next level down
Our guide continues with some history of Terceira and we walk down from the top level of the multi-level Jardim Duque da Terceira (Duke of Terceira Garden).
The tall structure of the Alto da Memória was constructed between 1845 and 1856, and which was erected on the grounds of the former Castelo dos Moinhos (Castle of Windmills). The obelisk there today was erected in the 19th century in honor of the passage of Pedro IV of Portugal by Terceira, regarding the Portuguese Civil War (1828-1834).
The gardens are located in what was the churchyard of the Franciscan and Jesuit convents. The Tanque do Preto was a water tank historically used for irrigating the gardens. The tank can be identified by its black statute of a stylized Brazilian-Amerindian blowing water from a tube.
It occupies the area to the west of the historical Convent of São Francisco, the home to Museum of Angra do Heroísmo, and includes various areas landscaped along the sides of a hilltop.
