Shillong Full Tour Part 4 | Walk Another Mile
Places Visited in the video :-
** Nohkalikai Waterfalls :-
Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Its height is 1115 feet (340 metres). The waterfall is located near Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth. Nohkalikai Falls are fed by the rainwater collected on the summit of a comparatively small plateau and decrease in power during the dry season in December - February. Below the falls there has formed a plunge pool with unusual green colored water.
** Duwan Sing Syiem Bridge and Viewpoint :-
The Mawkdok Dympep Valley View / Duwan Sing Syiem Bridge, located at the very start of Sohra tourist circuit, is one of the most prominent attractions of the place. The forest department has made a view-point at this valley from where tourists can enjoy and appreciate the natural beauty of the valley.however, one has to walk down a number of steps to reach the same. Most Tourists get the first view of the Mawkdok Dympep Valley, which extends right up to Cherrapunji, from this view point. Getting a clear view is a matter of chance as mostly it is obscured by clouds.
One can indulge in the thrilling and breathtaking experience of Ziplining across hills for a Rs 800 for 2 lines.
** Mawsmai Cave :-
6 kms from the Sohra market to the south lies the village of Mawsmai in the direction of Bangladesh border. At the village crossing, one passes grasslands surrounded by forests, ending in a clearing. From this clearing, a concrete pathway through the jungle leads up to the main cave entrance. This cave is the only cave that is fully lighted. The cave can be divided into two parts (old and new). Of the two, the new cave is yet to be lighted. It has impressive formations of large passages and chambers.
