by Namibia Wildlife Resorts and is open to day visitors. It is located within short walking distance of all our overnight facilities.
Our cosy and clean rooms will ensure a relaxing stay with views of the surrounding mountains. The campsites are well maintained and shaded by indigenous camelthorn trees.
The newly built swimming pool is a welcoming treat during the hot Namibian summer days. This addition is also a popular spot to enjoy a sundowner drink.
We now also accept MASTER and VISA cards. Also you can keep in touch with loved ones and ‘’check in’’ on social media as our reception now has WIFI available.
Come and enjoy true Namibian hospitality and learn more about our farming activities in this arid region. We are a working cattle, sheep and horse breeding farm.
People often ask us why someone would build a fortress in such a remote place, but with these scenic views and beautiful camelthorn trees, it is no wonder that the Baron decided to build his” castle” at this special place.

Gochas ist ein Dorf in Namibia, rund 100 km östlich von Gibeon und 50 km östlich von Witbooisvlei.Gochas liegt auf 1139 m am Ufer des Auob-Rivier das hier – im Gegensatz zum Umland von Gochas und den westlichen Ausläufern der Kalahari – relativ fruchtbar ist.Gochas ist Kreuzungspunkt der Hauptstraße C18 und C15 und besitzt einen Flugplatz sowie eine Klinik.Das Dorf ist zudem katholische Pfarrgemeinde im Bistum Keetmanshoop und Sitz der Epiphany Congregation im Kirchenkreis Mariental der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in der Republik Namibia.

We drove through most of Namibia, exploring all the famous highlights such as the Fishriver Canyon, Sossusvlei and Etosha Nationalpark. We were lucky enough to spot most of the big, and many small, animals which call Namibia home. These include elephants, giraffes, lions, rhinos, hippos, kudus, oryx, ostriches, warthogs, springboks, impalas and many more.

Namibia - Ein Reisebericht - Tag 03 - Naukluft

Heute geht es in die Naukluftberge.
Die Naukluftberge, meist nur als Naukluft bezeichnet, liegen am Ostrand der Namib auf der Höhe von Sesriem und erheben sich durchschnittlich 1000 Meter über das Vorland, von wo aus sie als geschlossene Front erkennbar sind. Die höchsten Gipfel des Massivs liegen bei knapp 2000 m.
Die Naukluft ist Teil des Namib-Naukluft-Nationalparks. Für Besucher steht ein einfaches Camp mit wenigen Plätzen zur Verfügung, Versorgungsmöglichkeiten gibt es keine. Zur Erkundung der Naukluft stehen dem Besucher zwei Tageswanderwege sowie ein 8-tägiger, sehr anstrengender Wanderweg zur Verfügung. Ein 4x4 Track bietet Offroad-Enthusiasten die Gelegenheit, die Naukluft mit dem Geländewagen zu erkunden.
Wir machen eine kleine Wanderung zu den Poolities. Dies sind natürliche Wasserbecken in denen sich Wasser befindet. Das Wasser ist so sauber, dass man direkt darin baden kann.
Auf jedenfall sollte man auf der Wanderung die Natur geniessen.
Nach der Wanderung und einer kurzen Stärkung geht es weiter in Richtung Neuras.
Zwischendurch haben wir einen kleinen Plattfuss, wechseln den Reifen, und machen direkt auch hier unsere Mittagsrast. Danach geht es weiter.
Neuras ist heute ein Weinproduktionsstätte. Das Geheimnis der Neuras Winery sind die fünf Quellen, die auf dem Gelände der früheren Farm liegen. Sie liefern das nötige Wasser für die Kultivierung der Rebstöcke, 1800 Jahre altes Wasser aus den Tiefen der Halbwüste der Naukluft-Berge. Ohne diesen Schatz wäre die Weinproduktion bei jährlichen Niederschlagsmengen zwischen 75 und 100 Millimetern undenkbar.
Wir nehmen hier an einer Weinverköstigung teil und testen den ungewöhnlich leichten, beerig-würzigen Shiraz und den dunklen, vollmundigen Namib Red Blend.
Nach unserem Besuch auf Neuras geht es weiter zu unserer Lodge Betesda in der wir nun zwei Nächte bleiben, denn morgen geht es schon ganz früh auf Tour.
