Dyrholaey & Reynisfjara, Iceland in 4K (Ultra HD)
Dyrhólaey Cape and Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach are one of the top Iceland scenic destinations. They are located in Southern Iceland near the village of Vik.
Dyrhólaey is 120 m/390 ft high promontory and natural reserve with many birds nesting on its cliffs. Its name means door-hole, coming from the huge stone arch at the end of the cape. The beautiful black sand beach by Dyrholaey is called Kirkjufjara and is closed to tourists.
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach provides scenic views of Dyrhólaey, and to the nearby impressive basalt sea stacks Reynisdrangar. The Halsanefshellir basalt columns cave is right on the beach.

Vikurfjara is Black Sand Beach at the town of Vik in South Iceland on the Ring Road.

Located about two hours from Reykjavik, the small town of Vik (population: 291) is a great pit stop for a stroll along the beautiful black sand beach and its cliffs. This place offers a gorgeous sweeping coastline and maybe some puffins.

迪霍拉里(Dyrhólaey)位於冰岛南岸，是一座120米的狭長半島，也是一座拱門形状的海蝕岬角。半岛上佇立着一座古老的燈塔，而每逢夏季海鹦等海鳥回歸的日子，這裡也成為冰島的觀鳥聖地。
迪霍拉里意为“门山之岛”，是火山运动的产物；在与冰岛主岛连接起来之前，曾是一座离岸的独岛。古时航海的水手常把它称作“波特兰角”(Cape Portland)。
Dyrhólaey Lighthouse 成立於1910年。 第一座燈塔是瑞典預製的骨架鋼塔。現在的燈塔建於1927年。

Reynisdrangar Sea Stacks, Vik, Iceland
According to local Icelandic folklore, these large basalt columns were once trolls trying to pull ships from the ocean to shore. However, these trolls went out too late in the night; dawn broke on the horizon, turning the trolls into solid stone. Between Reynisdranger and Reynisdrangar and Dyrhólaey rock arch is the world-famous Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach.

Vík í Mýrdal, Iceland (The Village of Vik) - HD
Vík is the Southern-most village in Iceland and features a beautiful black sand beach (often considered one of the world's top ten black sand beaches). The beach ends in mossy boulders guarding steep green cliffs. The village has about 300 inhabitants, but many more visitors. A quaint church and graveyard sit on a hill overlooking the village. Vik is located along the Ring Road and a short distance from the can't-miss sights of Reynisfjara Beach and Dyrholaey.

The Black Beaches of Vik, Up Close and Personal in Dyrhólaey, Iceland
Dyrhólaey: A network of basalt rock formations both on a cliffside, jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean, and off the coast. Waves crash upon these rocks and up the cliffs, and the true contrast of the Black Beach can be seen. Also contains a wonderful hike to up the Dyrhólaey Lighthouse.

Spent the last days of our trip around Iceland checking out the Puffins at Dyrhólaey, and the wonderful town of Vik. Driving around Iceland was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The mighty glaciers juxtaposed with the stunning green landscape made this an unforgettable trip. Not to ention I made a few great friends along the way.
