Their First Match Of The Tour And Cuts (1926)
Maidenhead, Berkshire.
Title reads: In delightful country surroundings 'Aussies' narrowly escape defeat from Minor Counties captained by M. R. Falcon who took 7 for 42.
Players walk on to ground. Panning shot of match in progress. Various shots of the game. Ryder - shots of Ryder in bat. Macartneyditto. Bardsley ditto. The penalty of popularity. Panning shot of the team then great shot from behind the players showing the large number of photographers and newsreel cameras recording their images for posterity. Paparazzi! Seems to be four cameramen and lots of photographers.
Followed by cuts for story. Various shots, some of which duplicate those found in cut story others are slightly different.
There then follows another version of the cut story. Seems to be the same footage but slightly worse quality. Use first version for best quality images.
