20. Park Your Camel Here
Israel is a controversial state in the middle east but that doesn’t mean we can’t take a good laugh at some of the crazy stuff that goes on here! In Israel, not everyone has adopted automobiles as their motive of transportation, but some traditional people have adopted camels! Whoever could park their camel like this right between their lines will sure you’ll pass their camel driver’s test with ease! You don’t need gasoline or oil to keep this machine going. Just the occasional bowl of water will do!
19. McWhaaa?
We understand this is McDonald’s but how do you pronounce it in Hebrew? Whatever it is exactly, it does appear to be kosher at least! The regulations of kosher appear to forbid certain animals including pork, camel, birds of prey, and bats. Did people really used to eat bats in Israel? Either way, you will most likely not be getting a bacon cheeseburger here!
18. Rabbi Crossing
Everyone look both ways before you speed through that intersection! A rabbi and his family could be crossing the street and you really don’t want to hit this guy! This sign is placed outside a temple in Israel to remind motorists to be cautious!
17. Blue Man Protester
We all know that Palestinians would like to become an independant nation and sometime protests will break out! This photo here though shows that sometimes the protests can be a little bizarre. These 5 protesters we see in the photo are all decked out in blue and they’re meant to represent the Navis from Avatar along Israel’s separation border! It’;s unclear exactly what the connection with blue aliens from a movie has to do with palestinian independence but we’re sure it’s meaningful
15. Scrolling at the Dead Sea
Dang this place is saltier than that ex girlfriend you broke up with on Valentine’s Day! The lake bordering Jordan and Israel, is known as the Dead Sea has the lowest elevation on land in the world at -1388 feet. It has a 33.7 salinity percentage and this allows for people to easily float on the water. You’d have to have some serious problem swimming to drown here. It’s so easy to float that this guy is scrolling through his journal without a care in the world that it might get wet!
11. The Chase is On
It’s not sure exactly what he got caught doing but the chase is on at the wailing wall. He’s really trying to run as fast as he can but still hoping that hat won’t fall off! Whatever the case is, it’s clear this guy is a straight up thug and has no respect for the law!
10. Mini Santa Clauses
It’s Christmas time in Israel and you know what that means, Hanukkah! This means 8 nights of presents and if you’re a kid you probably enjoy this time of year. Ironically enough, his wife got him a new kid each day dressed up as santa claus, and on the last day he’s hoping it’ll stop. They seem to be slightly confused on which holiday they want to celebrate but the kids are hoping they get more presents on Christmas in one day than the 8 nights of hanukkah.
5. Only in Israel
This country located on the Mediterranean Sea is home to some beautiful beaches and are a great place to enjoy stunning views. And views of this too! When going to the beach don’t forget to bring your sunglasses, some sunscreen, a towel and your automatic rifle. These women in the bikinis are enjoying their day at the beach in Haifa and properly People will get charged with crimes if something happens to their rifles. People in Israel are quite used to seeing this but people on vacation might not.
4. Getting Weird
No matter where you go or how you decide to dress you will have to bring your rifle at all times! Doesn’t matter how weird things are about to get, you gotta bring! This guy in the photo has no choice and even though he’s dressed up in a tutu with high heels. He must really be hoping a war doesn’t break out wearing that thing for the love of Abraham!
1.Israeli Flower Gardens
Whether you consider yourself Palestinian or Israeli, you have to admit that it’s a wonderful stretch of land with many unique cultures coming together and with some crazy things popping up every now and then. This historically rich religious land can be big enough for anyone live on and peace needs to be found in order to preserve israel’s natural beauty. Here we some of the amazing flower gardens found in israel with father enjoying the breathtaking views of the landscape. You might think it’s the netherlands first glance but it’s in the land where 8 million call home known as Israel!

The International Miniature Electric Train Exhibition is in Israel for the first time. It's an extraordinary experience for the whole family.
This massive, modular and fascinating exhibition presents the world of trains in different historic eras -- from steam to electric. It includes rare and unique examples of trains flown in from all over the world, on loan from well-known collectors, especially for exhibition in Israel.
About 40 trains travel over about 1.5km of train tracks, over bridges and through tunnels, through perfectly replicated European terrains with parks, gas stations, restaurants, buildings, lakes, rivers and beautiful scenery.
A central computer operates all the movements of the trains and cars, as well as the impressive lighting. At control points throughout the exhibition, visitors can operate sections of the exhibition themselves and be part of the train action.
The exhibition takes place in an air conditioned hangar at the Old Jerusalem TrainStation, which, in recent years, was transformed into a dynamic entertainment center at the heart of the capital. Restaurants, shops, children's activities, art fairs and trendy Segway tours are just a few of the fun options available to visitors to the Station, which has quickly become the hub of Jerusalem's culture, entertainment and fun.
Combining a visit to the exhibition with a trip to the exciting Old Train Station promises to offer visitors many hours of enjoyment.
And there's plenty of parking available.

Israeli Druze | Israel Phenomenology
This week on Israel Phenomenology, we’re unpacking the Israeli Druze. This little known community is just one of the various ethnic groups that make up the diverse population of Israel.
The Druze are known for being loyal to whichever country they live in and the Israeli Druze are no exception. Such is the strength of their allegiance that the Druze say they have a blood covenant with the State of Israel.
So how does this community - an Arab-speaking, 1000-year offshoot of Shiite Islam - fit into Israeli society? Why do they serve in the Israeli army in higher numbers than Jewish Israelis? And just what does the controversial Nation-State Bill mean for them?

3 Religions one Country - Israel in Conflict?
Israel - we heard many scary stories about this country. Terrorism and war is what they show in the media. During the educational project Enconters we followed the media team of the German Immanuel-Kant-Schule (Bremerhaven) on their trip to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa, to make our own picture of life in Israel - with surprising results.

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

Why You Should Move to Israel
Everything worthwhile in this world has a price, and living in Israel is no exception. Furthermore, the privilege of living in Israel does not come cheap (the Talmud uses the term that one who wishes to live in Israel must “acquire” it). Everyone pays a different price, sacrificing either money, safety, language, culture, or family.

The Touré-Raichel Collective The Paris Session EPK

“One of the most vital world music collaborations of recent years.” - Record Collector
The formation and success of The Touré-Raichel Collective, the band led by Israeli keyboardist and songwriter Idan Raichel and Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré—icons in their own countries and abroad—is a reminder of the unique power of music to bridge geographic, ethnic, political and religious differences.
Although a collaboration between an Israeli Jew and a Malian Muslim has unavoidable political implications, what inspired Touré and Raichel to work together was not the potential to make a statement; they simply connected as artists and friends seeking to find musical common ground.
The Paris Session is the result of the same freeform approach that was used in the first album, this time around they decided to feature more songs with vocals, a wider range of instrumentation, and appearances by musician friends such as Senegalese artist Daby Touré on bass, Israeli trumpeter Niv Toar, Malian singer Seckouba Diabate and others. Touré and Raichel have honed their interplay over the course of multiple tours together, but the album possesses the same spontaneous, heartfelt magic as its predecessor.
More broadly Raichel says of his collaboration with Touré, “I’m a musician from Israel, and I will always make Israeli music. And Vieux Farka Touré for me represents the spirit of Mali. I think world music artists by definition are people who reflect the soundtrack of the place they come from. I think that this collaboration between Mali and Israel—and remember we don’t even have diplomatic relations between the two countries—creates a new imaginary island located somewhere between Bamako and Tel Aviv.”
Touré says, “Idan comes from Israel, he’s Jewish. I come from Mali, I'm a Muslim. This project shows the point where there are no real differences between us. Working on these recordings we learn a lot about each other. If music is indeed a universal language, you can't just say it, you have to demonstrate it.”
It all works, first and foremost, because Touré, Raichel and their guests manage to make singular music. Reviewing The Tel Aviv Session for NPR’s All Things Considered, Banning Eyre wrote, “If Raichel and Touré had planned a collaboration, it's hard to imagine that they could have topped the casual charm of this impromptu encounter.” Hosting the Collective on WNYC’s Soundcheck, John Schaefer called the debut recording “one of the year’s most surprising and infectious world music releases.” Wall Street Journal rock and pop music critic Jim Fusilli has described the collaboration as “not so much cross-cultural exercise as an exploration of common ground.” Relix called is as close to perfection as one could imagine, and Songlines raved in its four star review There's something very pure of spirit about this album. Although the album grew out of jam sessions, the end result is architecturally robust and infused with strong emotive melodies. A delightful, soulful debut album that exudes optimism.
That same optimistic, and adventurous, spirit simmers through The Touré-Raichel Collective's second album. Despite its unassuming spontaneity, the engaging interplay on The Paris Session exemplifies the unifying power of music.

ISRAEL 2018
A small video of our trip to Israel on September 2018.
Few places on earth stir up passion the way that Israel does: the breathtaking beauty of its hills and valleys, the eerie stillness of the Dead Sea, the multi-coloured canyon of Makhtesh Ramon, and the ancient walls and pathways of Nazareth and Jerusalem. The call of the muezzin and the quiet prayers of Orthodox Jews at the Western Wall reflect how the religious devotion of the Muslims, Christians and Jews who live here runs through every facet of life.
As, of course, does the political – and visitors will rarely leave without encountering the country’s complex politics. But there are also plenty of ways to relax: the bars and beaches of Tel Aviv and Haifa, the wineries of the Galilee and tables loaded with mezze. For the curious visitor, Israel never fails to challenge and confound, excite and surprise, leaving an imprint that lingers long after the return flight home. LONELY PLANET

Das Ergebnis sind die Abende Invisible Olga (Griechisches Nationaltheater, Athen), My Neighbour, My Enemy (Tschechisches Nationaltheater, Prag), The Promised Land (Israelisches Nationaltheater Habima, Tel Aviv), Who's afraid of a maidservant? (Teatro Garibaldi di Palermo), DRACULATOUR -- The Brand Stroker Project (Ungarisches Theater in Cluj) und Boat People (Schauspielhaus Graz).
About the project
Europe as an emergency entrance represents the topic of this co-operation between the national theatres in Prague, Athens and Tel Aviv, as well as the municipal theatres in Palermo, Cluj and Graz. Teams of artists -- theatre and movie directors, professional and laymen actors, musicians and video artists -- spent several months researching current questions on migration in their respective countries. They worked together with refugees, representatives of ethnic minorities, young and old, male and female sans papiers from Eastern Europe and Africa. The rules of documentary theatre agreed on stated that research was to be part of the rehearsal process and was to be focused on current human tragedies. It aims to be an investigation of an unknown present. It should examine its limitations -- but also process its utopian leaps.
Six plays, entirely different in their aesthetics and contents, were thus created: experimental, funny, highly emotional, grotesque or tranquil. All of them show personal witness of truth, and young artists from Fortress Europe and Israel position themselves as citizens of their respective cities, their countries or their communities of states.
This was the first step. It generated the following plays: Invisible Olga (National Theatre of Greece, Athens), My Neighbour, My Enemy (National Theatre of Czech Republic, Prague), The Promised Land (Habima National Theatre of Israel, Tel Aviv), Who's afraid of a maidservant? (Teatro Garibaldi di Palermo), DRACULATOUR -- The Brand Stroker Project (Hungarian Theatre of Cluj) and Boat People (Schauspielhaus Graz).
In the second step, two or three groups respectively met in multi-day workshops in Cluj, Prague and Graz. They gathered their research outcome, discussed their results, but first and foremost, they chose material for their joint improvisations. They found new connections, played with linguistic confusion, various theatrical styles and national clichés. These exciting encounters -- now for the second time on a transnational level -- opened up to a radically new perspective: Go to the Unexpected! New scenes were developed in the course of a few days, which are entitled Next Level #1, #2, #3 and will now be presented at the festival.
