Pienza is in the west of Montepulciano on a hill of 481 m. In this town was born Pope PIUS II (1404-64). There are very good specialities in Pienza, especially hams and sheep-cheese (Pecorino di Pienza). In the meantime, Pienza is so famous and the prices are very expensiv.
