Explore the Submariners Walk Heritage Trail with the Brisbane Greeters

During World War II, the New Farm and Teneriffe waterfront was used as a US naval base for visiting submarines. As a special commemoration of the submariners, there exists a Submariners Walk Heritage Trail that stretches along 600m of the boardwalk between New Farm and Teneriffe. It is a memorial to the Australian and US submariners who were based at the Capricorn Wharf at Teneriffe during World War II. Five of the US submarines that left Teneriffe to go on patrol never came back – lost with all their crew. About 70 US submarines used the Capricorn Wharf for maintenance and repairs during the war, and for the last three months of 1942 there were as many US submarines operating from Brisbane as from Pearl Harbor.

This location is where lottery scammers receive their reply's from unsuspecting people who have fallen victim to the lottery scam. They give away their credit card details after being promised a huge cash prize. These people are organized and probably have similar scams running in locations all over the world. But they don't expect someone like me to be waiting for them next time they go to collect their mail, which is exactly what is going to happen.

Look out scammers, you've got a hard lesson in manners coming.

Brisbane City Council's CityHopper is a free inner city ferry service for the Brisbane River. You can hop on and hop off the CityHopper every 30 minutes. The service runs between 6am and midnight, seven days a week.

Filipinos In Australia tried TRANSLINK, CITYCAT and Spent Time in DOWNTOWN BRISBANE.

The brother of my partner, Kuya Phillip took a time off from work to accompany us commuting around Brisbane via their efficient train-Translink. We had the chance to ride on their ferry boat which gave us a glimpse of the riverside. By the way, their ferry is called CityCat. What a name for a boat! I enjoyed the entire duration of the ride.

We also visited the apartment of my partner’s niece (Celine) while the temperature was freezing that night.

Southbank Markets Brisbane on a Sunday.

Hangar 7, Eagle Farm Airfield, Brisbane, Queensland

This is the historic heritage listed Hangar 7 which was built by the US Military during WWII to rebuild Japanese aircraft to test their performance to determine suitable fighter tactics for Allied pilots to outwit the Japanese pilots in aerial combat. The Allied Techinical Air Intelligence Unit (ATAIU) operated in Hanagr 7 during WWII.

Brisbane Travel Diary | Mt Coot-tha, Botanical Gardens, and the University of Queensland

I had the pleasure of spending a week in Brisbane at the beginning of July. I wanted to document it in a little travel diary. I don't talk a lot in the video but I hope you enjoy the editing :)

In this video you'll see a bit of the Brisbane river, The University of Queensland St. Lucia campus, the Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens, and the Mount Coot-tha lookout.
