I try to hit the ground running at Sandringham GC with my dad the same day I land, and then follow it up with 18 at the spectacular Eagle Ridge GC on Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula. HCP ~ 15

Ogilvy Clayton Cocking Mead golf course architects Mike Cocking and Ashley Mead speak about the redevelopment of the new Peninsula Kingswood CGC layout.
Kingswood Golf Club and Peninsula Country Golf Club officially merged together in September of 2013. This was the first merger of two golf clubs in Australia. This merger provides the platform to create a first class private Club that will offer the very best in sandbelt golf with “state of the art” facilities and financial security.
The club will operate out of the Dingley and Frankston sites for the next 3-5 years . Members have the luxury of playing 3 courses in that time.
The Club is formally known as the Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club.

Set amidst the magnificent links land that is the Mornington Peninsula, The Dunes Golf Links is a testament to modern course design with a layout crafted by Tony Cashmore into it's natural environment.
This is a challenging golf course, with optional tees to suit all levels of ability, but most of all The Dunes injects fun into a round of golf. Tees perched on high ridgelines, play to generous fairways weaving their way through natural valleys below. Superb bent grass greens nestled in hollows, often in amphitheatre effect, as though their rightful place in the natural landscape.

A classic modern design, the Gunnamatta Course at St. Andrews Beach is a proud example of Tom Doaks' minimalist design ethos. A 9-iron from the ocean swells of Bass Strait, this modern links forms part of a very natural environment and on occasions gives the outward appearance of a rugged and wind blown landscape. But these elements are the essence of links golf and Doak has excelled in his capacity to create a brilliantly playable and fun golf course for all.
Variation is what makes this course fun to play. Green sites nestled in hollows with fairways that feed to ball to the green encourage the knock down shot or the bump and run with the ball releasing towards the pin. Others, where greens are elevated, with steep run offs encouraging the approach to be well up. From the tees, golfers might often be encouraged to take driver, but wide open spaces generally dictate a darker side in the strategic intent of the hole, where best position on the fairway to a tricky green might may well involve a risk and reward scenario...often taking on a wonderful bunkering plan.
Once will NOT be enough! This is a course that embodies the best elements of links golf with many design features influenced by the great Scottish golf links. The more you play it, the more you will love it!
