Vietnam's DMZ - travel guide HD
A day travelling north of Hue to the former Demilitarized Zone that divided North and South Vietnam until 1975 visiting the Ho Chi Minh Trail, Khe Sanh, La Vang and Long Hung Churches, Vinh Moc Tunnels and the Hien Luong Bridge. I was very fortunate to be guided through the DMZ by Mr Tam - a tour guide that lived through the Vietnam War in the area.

VIETNAM After the War in Huê Imperial City [Ep. 4]
ALL VIETNAM VLOGS:
Please support this channel by not skipping the ads :)
Hue, known as Forbidden Purple City (Tử cấm thành), was used to be the capital city of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty. Today, we are going to explore the Citadel and Imperial Palace within the imperial city. There is plenty of Chinese influence in Vietnamese history and Hue shows a lot of that.

Hello there, welcome to this channel!
I am an Indonesian female solo traveler, who started solo traveling in 2013. After working for the government till 2016, I left Indonesia to pursue full-time traveling and to document myself as I explore different cultures as a solo female.
Having initially traveled for 5 months throughout Asia, I moved to China in January 2017 for an English teaching job, which was my first experience living abroad.
Since leaving China in 2018, I have taken the move to become a full-time YouTube creator and traveler. I strive to create unique, culture-driven content and capture authentic interactions as I travel.
TALLEST BUDDHA STATUE IN VIETNAM - Hoi An to Hue Day Trip!
Travelling between Hoi An and Hue, Katie and I decided to stop and check out some of the top sights!
Our first stop was Marble Mountain, then on to the Lady Buddha (Linh Ung Pagoda), and finally through the Hai Van Pass. We wanted to check out the tallest buddha in vietnam while on our vietnam day tours. We made the best of our ride to Hue and it was a great day! We stopped for a nice lunch on the water and also got to see the Pagoda of Hue in the rain! Hue to Hoi An Day trip or Hoi An to Hue Day Trip is a long way to go, but something worth looking into if you're not able to stay in both!
Check back in a couple days when we explore the best things to see in Hue in one day!

Inside Minh Mang Tomb Huế, Vietnam
There's a whole lot of history in Huế. Today we rented a motorbike and headed south of the city to check out a couple of tombs. This was once the capital of the region, and there are several large tombs from emperors past.
This video was shot inside the grounds of Minh Mang, which is every bit as idyllic as it is nearly impossible to find. I'm sure a local guide could have gotten us here quickly. But we were armed with a crappy tourist map and a spotty connection to Google Maps. But we made it.
This is just one more example of the stories we tell from our everyday experiences as we travel the world. Get more at
HUE MUST SEE CITY TOUR
On our trip to Hue in Vietnam, we went out for a day tour visiting the must see sights of the area. Minh Mang's Tomb, Royal Tomb of Tu Doc, the Royal Tomb of Khai Dinh, and the Citadel - Imperial City! We also visited the Thein Mu Pagoda yesterday. These are your must see activities in Hue -- check out our video to see which were our favorites!
And check back soon for our trip to the DMZ and a village in the tunnels!

While trenches have often been dug as defensive measures, in the pre-firearm eras, they were mainly a type of hindrance for an attacker of a fortified location, such as the moat around a castle (this is technically called a ditch).
Only with the advent of accurate firearms, and the tactics that evolved in World War I and the Crimean War, did the use of trenches as positions for the defender of a fortification become common, though the Māori of New Zealand were known to have used it earlier in their Pā fortifications in the late 19th Century. The military usage evolved very quickly in the First World War, until whole systems of extensive main trenches, backup trenches (in case the first lines were overrun) and communication trenches had been developed, often stretching dozens of kilometres along a front without interruption, and some kilometres further back from the opponents lines.
The Vietnam War was a military conflict that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1959[1] to 30 April 1975. The war was fought between the communist North Vietnam, supported by its communist allies, and the government of South Vietnam, supported by the United States and other nations.[12]
The Viet Cong, a lightly armed South Vietnamese communist-controlled common front, largely fought a guerrilla war against anti-communist forces in the region. The North Vietnamese Army engaged in a more conventional war, at times committing large units into battle. U.S. and South Vietnamese forces relied on air superiority and overwhelming firepower to conduct search and destroy operations, involving ground forces, artillery and airstrikes.
The United States entered the war to prevent a communist takeover of South Vietnam as part of their wider strategy of containment. Military advisors arrived beginning in 1950. U.S. involvement escalated in the early 1960s and combat units were deployed beginning in 1965. Involvement peaked in 1968 at the time of the Tet Offensive.
After this, U.S. ground forces were withdrawn as part of a policy called Vietnamization. Despite Paris Peace Accords, signed by all parties in January 1973, fighting continued.
The Case-Church Amendment, passed by the U.S. Congress in response to the anti-war movement, prohibited direct U.S. military involvement after August 15, 1973. U.S. military and economic aid continued until 1975.[13] The capture of Saigon by North Vietnamese army, in April 1975, marked the end of Vietnam War. North and South Vietnam were reunified the following year.
The war exacted a huge human cost in terms of fatalities, including 3 to 4 million Vietnamese from both sides, 1.5 to 2 million Laotians and Cambodians, and 58,159 U.S. soldiers.[14]

Vietnam War bunker near Da Nang
Here is a clip I shot of a Vietnam War era bunker above the Hai Van Pass Near Da Nang. To the north the road goes down the Hai Van Pass toward Hue. To the south is Da Nang, the Da Nang Airbase and Monkey mountain, with China Beach further south but not visible. It was a beautiful summer day to visit the pass, and the bunker was in a nice peaceful spot with great views.
