• Food Expenses can obviously very. We had 3 breakfasts and 2 lunches included between the hotel and tours. I purchased 4 dinners, and 1 lunches for $55 combined (no Alcoholic drinks or sodas)…and maybe another $10 of other stuff like ice cream cones and the like.
• Gratuities: I spent roughly $45 tipping on tours and restaurants.
• Ferries between Islands cost $30 one way. We booked our ferry from Santa Cruz to Isabella, and from Isabella back to Santa Cruz with Eagle Ray Tours. I recommend booking your ferry passage as soon as you can as they do fill up.

Galapagos Islands - Summer 2018 - Episode #9
On this episode we headed out on our second dive trip of the expedition! North Seymour is off the coast of the Island of Santa Cruz, and provided our first close up of sharks including white-tipped reef sharks and the Galapagos shark. More prominently displayed were a number of fish and invertebrates species from the local islands.
Check out the journey and keep exploring!

Sea Lions and Spotted Eagle Rays playing in the afternoon sun of Santa Fe Island
Hope you enjoy the videos of our trip to the paradise of the Galapagos Islands. Truly the best destination to choose when going to Ecuador.
We choose to spend some days on Santa Cruz Island do-it-yourself style and afterwards going on a cruise to visit the beauty of the Southern Islands of the Galapagos: Plaza Sur, Santa Fe, Espanola and San Cristobal.
The first days we enjoyed Tortuga Bay and the tourist life of Puerto Ayora. Also we took a bay tour around Puerto Ayora and saw the giant Tortoises!
On first class yacht Galapagos Voyager (highly recommended) we first visited the Charles Darwin Research Station to get more insight in their conversation work.
After that we saw rich birdlife everywhere: Frigate Birds and Boobies (Blue-Footed and Nazca). Sea Lions greeting us everywhere and on the first islands plenty of Marine and Land Iguanas!
Santa Fe and Espanola Islands also have a rich marine life: Reef Sharks, Spotted Eagle Rays and Sea Turtles everywhere.

These shots were taken while snorkelling in the Galapagos in mid December 2013. I used a Fujifilm Finepix Xp60 £100 camera not expecting much of it, having seen other Youtube XP60 videos. But I was very pleased with the results. I made a conscious effort to hold the camera still but that was very difficult. I used wide angle as much as possible and the underwater setting. The weather was often overcast or the beach in shadow. I used no lights ( I was told not to). The camera didn't leak at all. The camera has a job focussing occasionally and the shots are very blue. Unfortunately I don't have software to correct that. This is just a small selection. We were on the Celebrity Xpedition which holds 95. A waterproof housing for my Lumix TZ30 would have cost almost 3 times as much as the XP60. I used windows Moviemaker to edit the footage.
Diving in Galapagos - North Seymour
This was a nice dive in North Seymour, we saw white tip reef sharks, sea lions, sting rays, snake eel, and lots of fish, what a great place to have fun.
Galapagos Islands Land Based Tour
In September 2016 I had the pleasure of undertaking a land-based adventure in the Galapagos Islands. The Galapagos Islands are a volcanic archipelago located in the Pacific Ocean 1000km off the coast of Ecuador, and are part of Ecuadorian territory. I visited three main islands: Santa Cruz, Floreana Island (nickname: hell on earth), and Isabella Island. I also did a couple scuba dives at Gordon Rocks, a dive site famous for Hammerhead sharks and extreme currents.
Some cool points in the video:
Beginning - Floreana Island
Swimming with a sea lion and sea turtle - Floreana Island
Giant Tortoise at 00:52 – Isabella Island
Sea turtles, White tip shark, Eagle ray, Cactus on the beach (00:59 – 01:28) – Los Tuneles, Isabella Island
Marine Iguanas – Isabella Island (but you see them everywhere)
Scuba Diving – Gordon Rocks, off the coast of Santa Cruz
Hammerhead Sharks (around 02:00) – Gordon Rocks (poor visibility but incredible nonetheless)
Sea lion near end of video (around 02:30) – Floreana Island (again, you see these guys everywhere)
Giant Tortoise at the end – Santa Cruz
Other cool animals I saw but not included in this video: Blue footed boobies, lava lizards, lava gulls, black tip sharks, sea horse, flamingos, dolphins, sally lightfoot crabs
