How Britain's Youngest Brewers Created An International 'Beer Empire' | UNILAD Grub
Running a brewery with your best friend is a dream job for many, but for two beer-loving graduates this became their reality.
Paul Delamere and George Grant, both 27, first tried home-brewing as a fun hobby in their student kitchen using a plastic stick and a bucket.
Four years later they are Britain's youngest professional brewers running ShinDigger Brewing Co. and selling 50,000 pints a month.

Yorkshire Wakes Week and trip to Blackpool, 1940's. Archive Film 91242
Yorkshire, Wakes Week, 1940's. Yorkshire mill in the foreground and countryside in the background with no smoke coming from the chimneys. An empty side street without people and a row of closed shops. A shop window with a kitten on the ledge; a sign reads Annual Holidays, closed from June 28th - July 7th. Wakes week.
A queue of people with luggage on a pebbled square move slowly into a railway station. Close view of people with happy faces handing their tickets to the guard and boarding a red LMS passenger train. Drivers lean out of the window. The guard waves the flag. Close view of the train wheels as they begin to move and steam rises. The train leaves the station and people look out of the window.
Red brick wall with a large poster of a seaside image which reads Blackpool. A bustling scene as crowds of people leave the train. Camera pans from the crowd to Blackpool Tower. People gather on the promenade at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The beach with people relaxing in the sun. Three men come past on donkeys. A small child builds a sandcastle. High shot of the amusement park with the ferris wheel/big wheel. Carriages move up a rollercoaster and trundle down the other side. People entering The Greatest Show on Earth with a large man on the door. An ice cream cart on the beach selling cones to children.

#7 A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MICRO PUB LANDLORD - THE MARKET ALE HOUSE - BYRONS WORLD PODCAST
This week I visited the market ale house in Leyland (Lancashire) to have a chat with Jack about what it's like to run a micro pub. This included a liquid lunch that Jack kindly treated me to (get yourself a pilsner in there and you won't regret it) and escalated to rambling about a wide range of different things (a proper pub chat).
Topics included what it's like to be in the pub industry, the differences, between a micro pub and a normal pub (there's not much too it believe it or not), a psycho letter which was posted, drinking culture in the UK, pickled eggs (yes you read that right) and the time I bottled it when serving comedian Dave Spikey.

HYLTON CASTLE SUNDERLAND 2011
Hylton Castle is a ruined stone castle in the North Hylton area of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England. Originally built from wood by the Hilton (later Hylton) family shortly after the Norman Conquest in 1066, it was later rebuilt in stone in the late 14th to early 15th century. The castle underwent major changes to its interior and exterior in the 18th century and it remained the principal seat of the Hylton family until the death of the last baron in 1746. It was then Gothicised but neglected until 1812, when it was revitalised by a new owner. Standing empty again until the 1840s, it was briefly used as a school until it was purchased again in 1862. The site passed to a local coal company in the early 20th century and was taken over by the state in 1950.
One of the castle's main features, is the heraldic devices found mainly on the west façade, which have been retained from the castle's original construction. They depict the coats of arms belonging to local gentry and peers of the late 14th to early 15th centuries and provide an approximate date of the castle's reconstruction from wood to stone.
Today, the castle is owned by English Heritage, a non-departmental public body which manages the historical environment of England. The surrounding parkland is maintained by a community organisation. The castle and its chapel are protected as a Grade I listed building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument. As of 2008, a survey is being carried out to determine the future of the site.
