White Squirrel - Siberian chipmunk - Eutamias sibiricus - Hvítur Íkorni - Nagdýr - Sciuridae - Rodent family - Albino Animals - The Siberian chipmunk was imported from South Korea and introduced in Europe as a pet in the 1960s. It is the only chipmunk found outside North America, and this animal is classed either as the only living member of the genus Eutamias, or as a member of a genus including all chipmunks. Their small size may contribute to their relatively short lives, which tend to range from 2 to 5 years in the wild. However, when placed in captivity, as seen in Europe in the 1960s, they have the potential to live anywhere from 6 to 10 years. In Paris the chipmunk was first imported from east Asia in the 1970s but a few specimens clearly escaped or were released into the wild, and have successfully adapted to their new home.
The Siberian chipmunk can survive in a variety of habitats and conditions. They are usually found in coniferous forests, stony areas within forests and mountains, habitats filled with shrub, along waterways or roads, or other small patches of agricultural land. In Europe, the introduced populations usually live in deciduous forests, mixed deciduous and coniferous forests, or urban areas with greenery. Siberian chipmunks are omnivores that store or cache food.Normally, they eat Siberian pine seeds, along with different deciduous and coniferous tree seeds. In addition to seeds, they eat herb roots, insects, mollusks, birds, reptiles, grains, fruit, and fungus. See more:
Chipmunks are very shy and have long memories. If you frighten them, they will remember and reject you until you regain their trust. Begin your bonding experience by feeding them treats through the cage bars and then later feeding treats from the palm of your hand inside the cage. Let the chipmunk come to you and slowly begin holding it. Do not squeeze it. Try to repeat these methods daily. Bonding pouches are also a great way to bond with your chipmunk. You can also place pieces of an old T-shirt in the cage, bonding pouch or sleeping area so that it will get used to your scent. See more:

A Blue Morpho - Morpho peleides - rests on a male primate, allowing its shimmering, electric blue wings to be admired up close.
The Peleides Blue Morpho, Common Morpho, or The Emperor (Morpho peleides) is an iridescent tropical butterfly found in Mexico, Central America, northern South America, Paraguay, and Trinidad. Some authorities believe that peleides is a subspecies of Morpho helenor. The brilliant blue color in the butterfly's wings is caused by the diffraction of the light from millions of tiny scales on its wings. It uses this to frighten away predators, by flashing its wings rapidly. The wingspan of the Blue Morpho butterfly ranges from 7.5--20 cm (3.0--7.9 in). The entire Blue Morpho butterfly lifecycle, from egg to adult is only 115 days. Known larval foodplants are Leguminosae (Arachis hypogaea, Dioclea wilsonii, Inga spp., Lonchocarpus, Machaerium cobanense, Machaerium salvadorense, Machaerium seemannii, Medicago sativa, Mucuna mutisiana, Pithecellobium, Pterocarpus rohrii, Mucuna urens), and Bignoniaceae (Paragonia pyramidata). Morpho peleides drinks the juices from rotting fruits for food. Its favourites in captivity are mango, kiwi, and lychee. Morpho peleides butterflies live in the rainforests of South America, and can be found in Mexico and Central America. The larvae of Morpho peleides butterflies are occasional cannibals. These caterpillars are red-brown with patches of bright green. Morpho peleides butterflies stick together in groups to deter their predators, a form of mobbing behavior. :
The Great Yellow Mormon or Asian Swallowtail - Papilio lowi - , is a butterfly of the Papilionidae family. It is found in the Borneo, Indonesia, and the Philippines (Palawan, Balabao). Wingspan: 107--126 mm - Larvae feed on citrus plants. Adults nectar on various flowers. :
Swallowtail butterflies are large, colorful butterflies in the family Papilionidae, and include over 550 species. Though the majority are tropical, members of the family inhabit every continent except Antarctica. To defend against predators, swallowtail butterflies practice Batesian mimicry, a behavior in which the butterflies' appearance closely resemble that of distasteful species to ward off predators. Swallowtails differ from many animals that practice mimicry as certain species, such as the tiger swallowtail butterfly (Papilio glaucus), exhibit a female-limited polymorphism for Batesian mimicry and others, such as the Canadian tiger swallowtail (Papilio canadensis) do not display any form of mimicry. Predators of the swallowtail butterfly include the Red-winged blackbird, Pennsylvania firefly, Five-lined skink, Green darner, Goldenrod spider, Chinese mantid, Fiery Searcher, and Striped Skunk.:

Lantana is a genus of about 150 species of perennial flowering plants in the verbena family, Verbenaceae. They are native to tropical regions of the Americas and Africa but exist as an introduced species in numerous areas, especially in the Australian-Pacific region. The genus includes both herbaceous plants and shrubs growing to 0.5--2 m (1.6--6.6 ft) tall. Their common names are shrub verbenas or lantanas. The generic name originated in Late Latin, where it refers to the unrelated Viburnum lantana. Lantana's aromatic flower clusters (called umbels) are a mix of red, orange, yellow, or blue and white florets. Other colors exist as new varieties are being selected. The flowers typically change color as they mature, resulting in inflorescences that are two- or three-colored. Wild lantanas are plants of the unrelated genus Abronia, usually called sand-verbenas. Some species are invasive, and are considered to be noxious weeds, The small Lantana-feeding moths Epinotia lantana and Lantanophaga pusillidactyla, while not becoming pests, have nonetheless failed to stem the spread of the invasive weed, as has the Lantana Scrub-hairstreak butterfly (Strymon bazochii) which was introduced to control lantanas on the Hawaiian Islands. Other Lepidoptera whose caterpillars feed on Lantana species include the Common Splendid Ghost Moth (Aenetus ligniveren), Aenetus scotti, Endoclita malabaricus, Hypercompe orsa and the Setaceous Hebrew Character (Xestia c-nigrum). The Swamp Wallaby (Wallabia bicolor) is one of the few mammals that eat Lantana leaves without apparent ill effect. As a positive aspect, lantanas are useful as honey plants, and Spanish Flag (L. camara), L. lilacina and L. trifolia are sometimes planted for this purpose, or in butterfly gardening. Butterflies which are attracted to lantana flowers are most notably Papilioninae (swallowtail and birdwing butterflies). Hesperiidae (skippers) and certain brush-footed butterflies (namely Danainae and Heliconiinae), as well as some Pieridae (e.g. Cloudless Sulphur, Phoebis sennae) and Lycaenidae (e.g. the aforementioned Lantana Scrub-hairstreak), also like to visit the plants' flowers. :

Green Iguana - Iguana iguana - American iguana - Iwana - Iguana-eðlur - Iguanidae - Lizard - Græneðla - Græn eðla - Fiðrildagarður - West Sussex - The word iguana is derived from a Spanish form of the Taíno name for the species: iwana. In some Spanish speaking countries, males of the species are referred to as gorrobo or ministro and juveniles are called iguanita or gorrobito. Despite their name, green iguanas can come in different colors. In southern countries of their range, such as Peru, green iguanas appear bluish in color with bold blue markings. Green iguanas have excellent vision, enabling them to detect shapes and motions at long distances.
Lesa meira:

It is native to Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. Usually, this animal is simply called the iguana. The green iguana ranges over a large geographic area, from southern Brazil and Paraguay as far north as Mexico and the Caribbean islands. Green iguanas possess a row of spines along their backs and along their tails, which helps to protect them from predators. Their whip-like tails can be used to deliver painful strikes and like many other lizards, when grabbed by the tail, the iguana can allow it to break, so it can escape and eventually regenerate a new one. In addition, iguanas have a well-developed dewlap, which helps regulate their body temperature. Green iguanas have very sharp teeth that are capable of shredding leaves and even human skin.[8] These teeth are shaped like a leaf, broad and flat, with serrations on the edge. The similarity of these teeth to those of one of the first dinosaurs discovered led to the dinosaur being named Iguanodon, meaning iguana-tooth, and the incorrect assumption that it had resembled a gigantic iguana.

Of the 25 species of chipmunks, all but one, Asia's Tamias sibiricus, is found in North America. Ranging from Canada to Mexico, they are generally seen scampering through the undergrowth of a variety of environments from alpine forests to shrubby deserts. Some dig burrows to live in, complete with tunnels and chambers, while others make their homes in nests, bushes, or logs. :

The scientific name of the common species is Cavia porcellus, with porcellus being Latin for little pig. Cavia is New Latin; it is derived from cabiai, the animal's name in the language of the Galibi tribes once native to French Guiana. Cabiai may be an adaptation of the Portuguese çavia (now savia), which is itself derived from the Tupi word saujá, meaning rat.Guinea pigs are called quwi or jaca in Quechua and cuy or cuyo (pl. cuyes, cuyos) in the Spanish of Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. Ironically, breeders tend to use the more formal cavy to describe the animal, while in scientific and laboratory contexts it is far more commonly referred to by the more colloquial guinea pig. How the animals came to be called pigs is not clear. They are built somewhat like pigs, with large heads relative to their bodies, stout necks, and rounded rumps with no tail of any consequence; some of the sounds they emit are very similar to those made by pigs, and they also spend a large amount of time eating. They can survive for long periods in small quarters, like a 'pig pen', and were thus easily transported on ships to Europe. :

See more:
