The second video brings me this time on the Ritten. To discover with me the famous ancient earth pyramids. From the frozen lake wear the ice breaks and if I reach the train everything in this new video. We will starting in Bolzano city where we take the cablecar to Oberbozen. From there we arrive all locations by train. Ritten is simply a unique!

Out Of This World: Earth Pyramids in the Dolomites filmed with a Drone
The Earth is filled with amazing natural wonders, but some of them are so extraordinary you'd think you landed on another world. Believe it or not, this video was taken right here on Earth. The earth pyramids in South Tyrol (Italy) are a special natural phenomenon that comes about in particular terrain, usually after a landslide or an unhinging of the earth. The main cause of the formation of earth pyramids is the continuous alternation of periods of torrential rain and drought. These phenomena, in particularly friable terrain, over the years, increasingly erode the ground and form such earth pyramids. Usually the pyramids are formed in terrain very well sheltered from wind so that they cannot be damaged by it. Moreover, the life of the earth pyramids is strongly dependent on the climate which reigns during the time in which it is shaped by the rock that covers it.

The Earth Pyramids of South Tyrol

There is a cable car service from Ritten Bozen) to Oberbozen and then a unique narrow-gauged train built in 1906, connecting the localities of Klobenstein and Oberbozen. When you get to Klobenstein, there is a great walk to Earth Pyramids (hoodoos) from the late ice age. They are build-up of limestone and have been shaped by nature over many centuries.

Cycling around Bolzano (3) Up by cablecar, down by bike
Around Bolzano (Tirol - Italy) are some nice bicycle trips. For this one we took the cablecar up the mountain to Soprabolzano. From there we cycled at the top of the mountains with great views, along some pretty villages and the Earth Pyramids of Rennon and then down hill (carefull - not to fast. . . ) back to Bolzano with lots of graffiti along the road. Recorded june 30, 2018. Music: Believer by Silent Partner.
