About the Walk - I am walking around Ireland. I will be sleeping in a tent and it will take approx 3 months to complete the journey. I was initially just walking to the Great Blasket Islands but things change and I have decided to continue walking all the way around Ireland and back to my starting point in Dublin.
And in case you might be asking yourself, I am walking around Ireland because I really enjoy walking.

Easkey Castle rurex. right to the top!
Built in 1207, and more of a fortified tower house than a castle, this building has been a landmark around Co. Sligo since its construction for the O'Dowd chieftains.
Many a good nights drinking was had within these walls, and still are from what i'm told, however getting drunk on the battlements today may hold a few more hazards than in 1207, when there was an intact roof, and no jager-bombs.
