MY CLASS TRIP - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK, EAST AFRICA
QENP is in the Western Region of Uganda, spanning the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri.
The park is approximately 400 kilometres (250 mi) by road south-west of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city.[2] The town of Kasese is just outside the northeastern edge of the park, while the town of Rubirizi is just outside the park's southeastern boundaries. The park includes the Maramagambo Forest and borders the Kigezi Game Reserve, the Kyambura Game Reserve, and the Kibale National Park in Uganda, and the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
A BIG THANK YOU MS DIANA BRITISH SCHOOL OF KAMPALA and BIG 5 TOURISM GROUP FOR MAKING THIS TRIP A MEMORABLE ONE.

Rob The Ranger is a proudly South African Youtuber
The purpose of the Rob The Ranger Wildlife Videos YouTube channel is to show what it is like to experience seeing wild animals on an African safari. Nature Documentaries are often highly edited to tell a story, wildlife safaris are not, and the idea here is to show the wildlife sightings the way they were seen. Safari tours in Africa are generally suitable for all ages and this channel can be considered an educational channel about incredible nature, some scenes in the nature videos may be more graphic than people are used to but this is the reality of nature and is what you would see if you were present on such a safari in person. Safaris in Kenya, South Africa, or any other African country are an unrivalled experience for anyone with a passion for nature, wildlife photography, and travel. Hopefully the animal videos on this channel can provide a glimpse into what the nature experience is like and encourage more people to take a wildlife safari one day.

Gorilla Trekking Uganda // Adventure Travel Documentary
We went Gorilla Trekking in the Bwindi Forest in Uganda and it was the most intense adventure we've had yet. Obviously, we're excited to present this travel documentary to you about our experience!
Here's the BLUF on this travel adventure:
You can do a gorilla trek in either Rwanda or Uganda. Rwanda recently doubled their prices, so most people are now using Uganda, and we've talked to the guides and they say it's more authentic anyway.
Now, don't be blown away by this, but it's expensive. We had to pay $1200 for this experience (all inclusive). You can rest easy knowing that MOST of that money is just for the permit, which goes to protecting these beautiful animals, giving them medical treatment and guarding them from poachers.
Even then, we thought the price was definitely worth it, to see a silverback gorilla, a baby gorilla, several blackback gorillas, and females intermixed.
The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is super awesome to walk through on it's own, much less to see gorillas. If for some reason you do not see any gorillas, they will refund half of your money for the attempt, so it's a gamble you just have to take.

Hippo, Buffalo, Crocodiles, Birdlife, and More! | Kazinga Channel Uganda
I went on a boat safari along the Kazinga channel that links Lake Edward with Lake George in Uganda, the channel is the central feature of the Queen Elizabeth National Park
Hippos, buffalo and crocs are all along the banks along with other wildlife and abundant birdlife. A small fishing village is also situated on the banks and pre-dates the establishment of the park.

Kidepo Valley National Park, Uganda
Kidepo Valley National Park is one of the most untouched treasures in Africa. Situated on the border of Uganda, South Sudan and Kenya it boasts an incredible amount of wildlife, stunning landscapes, variety of activities and none of the human traffic you would expect to find in more known parks. With lions, leopard, ostrich, elephants, giraffe, hyena, eland, the largest herds of buffalo in Africa and countless other species, it really does have it all.
Apoka lodge is a gem in itself within the park, set in a beautiful landscape with top class facilities the lodge really does stand out as one in a kind. A watering hole is a stones throw from the dining area meaning there's always wildlife nearby.
The park also offers walking safaris, night game drives and visits to the local Karamajong tribes to get a taste of authentic culture.

Gorilla Trekking in Uganda – Bwindi Forest National Park
Gorilla Trekking within the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a highlight of all visits done in Uganda and certainly mountain gorillas are the major reason as to why very many people visit Uganda. On the other hand, Uganda is recognized as a very safe and more so secure country in which you can see these Gorillas in a serene surroundings.
When To Go:
Although tracking mountain gorillas can be conducted all year round in these two countries due to the somewhat damp seasons experienced by the national parks in which these gorillas stay, the majority of tourists prefer visiting from June to September as well as from December up to February. You can visit Bwindi at any time of the year, the low season calls for cheaper gorilla permit price.
How To Get A Gorilla Trekking Permit in Uganda:
Within Uganda, Gorilla trekking is conducted in Bwindi National Park or in Mgahinga National Park. But because of the inconsistency of gorillas in Mgahinga, majority of the sold permits are for Bwindi National Park. In Uganda, every gorilla permit goes for US$600 while from May to April 2024 they will go for US$350. On a single day, nearly 72 people travel into Bwindi to see gorillas and only 8 people are allowed to see each gorillas family. We strongly encourage you to book your gorilla permit with a travel company, the most prominent mistake is to book a gorilla family that ends up far away from your choice of accommodation! The routes to Bwindi and its various regions are often tricky, this is a remote area. If you would like to do the gorilla trek on your own so as to save costs, you might end up incurring more. Safari specialists have been trained to help you with this.
What To Wear:
Gorilla Trekking gear guide, Good quality walking boots if trying any hikes or even climbs, warm layers of cloth for the cold evenings and clothing for wet weather remember it becomes cold and wet at this high altitude.
About Mountain Gorillas:
They don’t live in any zoo across the planet since they cannot survive in detention and thus there aren’t any known mountain gorillas surviving within zoos. These can only be found and seen in Africa, in just three countries including Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. There are approximately 786 Mountain Gorillas remaining in the world with approximately half of them staying in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest plus the Mgahinga Gorilla Park within Uganda found in East Africa.
The majority of Gorillas which you may have seen in a zoo are the lowlands gorillas of western Africa, and the mountain gorillas are actually a subspecies known as Gorilla beringei beringei. These can only be found in the wilderness of the Virunga highlands of Rwanda within Volcano Park found in Rwanda, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park as well as Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda, and the Virunga National Park found in the Democratic Republic of Congo. These parks are found only 48 km from each other. Within Uganda as well as Rwanda these parks can be accessed easily, while in the Democratic Republic of Congo due to the rebel activities that happened, there was a probable threat to the lives of visitors.
