Terrorist shops for murder weapons
Eight people were killed when Khuram Butt, 27, Rachid Redouane, 30, and Youssef Zaghba, 22, drove a van into pedestrians and stabbed others in the London Bridge area on June 3, 2017.
They also had a lethal arsenal of weapons in their van, blow torches and fake suicide vests, and planned to set off a firestorm of Molotov cocktails during their sickening rampage.
Chilling footage shown to the Old Bailey shows Redouane buying bottles of wine later filled with petrol and 12in knives – which were later used to murder bystanders - from a Lidl store in East Ham in the days leading up to the massacre

English Breakfast at E. Pellicci in London
E. Pellicci in London is a fantastic little restaurant where you can order a range of dishes, including a delicious English breakfast. Read my article here:
When I was in London, one morning, I decided to go over to a restaurant known as E. Pellicci, on the East side of the city, located along Bethnel Green road. I went there having really no idea what to expect, other than I knew that I wanted to try their full English breakfast - other than that, I knew just about nothing about them.
As soon as we entered E. Pellicci we were warmny greeted by the friendly staff - it wasn't just another greeting - it was warm and welcoming. The restaurant was classic and friendly, small and homely. The menu was actually bigger than I had expected, there was a full range of both English and Italian dishes to choose from. I actually wanted to go crazy ordering everything, but then I remembered that I had come specifically for the full English breakfast, so that's what I ended up choosing. However, before getting my breakfast, I ordered a cup of black coffee, which was very good as well.
For Pellicci's Full English, you could get a choice of either toast or fried bread, and since I had never had the fried bread before, that's what I decided to go for. The breakfast came with sausage, bacon, egg, tomatoes, and mushrooms, and though I didn't realize it at the time, I could have gotten it with more things on my plate like beans and black pudding. Somehow I missed that on my order, but looking back, I should have ordered those accompanying sides as well, to make it a more complete full English breakfast. That being said, I was still very happy with what I ordered.
The full English breakfast came, and it was everything I had hoped for. The meat including the sausage and bacon was great quality, and extremely tasty, the egg was fried perfectly, and the mushrooms and tomatoes complemented everything well. The fried bread was like a piece of bread deep fried in oil, so it was a bit on the greasy side, but it sure was crispy. Overall, I probably would have chosen toast, had I had another chance to eat at E. Pellicci.
After we polished off our breakfast and were on our way out of E. Pellicci, one of the owners, ran out the door and said, you guys forgot a piece of our bread pudding, and she kindly handed us a little baggie with a foil wrapped piece of her grandmothers' recipe bread pudding. It was not too sweet, but just nicely flavored and custardy in texture.
E. Pellicci restaurant in London serves a great full English breakfast, and I'm sure the other dishes are delicious too. But along with the great food, the service and the attitudes of the owners and staff were so amazing, so friendly and welcoming. It's food and restaurant experiences like these, that make me want continue eating and exploring food around the world. Had I been in London longer, I would have eaten at E. Pellicci many more times. If you visit London, you should include E. Pellicci on your itinerary.
E. Pellicci Restaurant -- London, England
Address: 332 Bethnal Green Rd, London E2 0AG, United Kingdom

How to get there: I walked from the Shoreditch area of London, however you could also take the Underground to Bethnel Green station, and E. Pellicci is just a short walk from there.

Eating at Broadway Market in London, England
Broadway Market is a Saturday market in London where you’ll find a variety of delicious food. Check out my blog here:
When you’re in London on the weekends, one of the best things to do is go to one of the weekend markets. Broadway Market has been around since the late 1800’s, when it was a small neighborhood street. According to their website ( the market began in the 1890’s and it was originally a place where people started selling their local produce. The market thrived, but during the years, as the economy went up and down, the market eventually passed and pretty much came to an end for a number of years.
In the recent years, Broadway Market in London has experienced a bit of a renaissance and made a comeback in a big way. Every Saturday, starting around 8 or 9 am, food and produce vendors set up along Broadway road on the East side of London, in Hackney. Many people show up, hungry, ready to eat, and ready to shop for good quality produce and food products. What I really loved about the market is the friendly neighborhood feel to it. Lots of people gathered with friend to hang out, have a beer or a cup of tea, eat some delicious food, and just enjoy the great social atmosphere of the market.
When I visited London, Ying and I were on a short trip with Chowzter.com, and one of the things we did while in town, was visit the market. It was my first day in London, so I was pretty excited to get out and explore the market and start to eat as much as I could. I was quite happy with the selection of international foods available at the market, ranging from Ghanaian food to Vietnamese and even Thai food. But, since I had just come from Thailand, I was actually trying to stick with more English / UK or at least more European food for the trip. The first thing I tried was some kind of a chocolate brownie cookie filled with cream. Overall, it was quite good, but I’m just not a huge fan of sweets.
I’m a huge fan of smoked salmon, so when I noticed the stall selling smoked Atlantic salmon, that was immediately on my food radar. They were just serving a slab of smoked salmon on a piece of bread along with a garnish of cream cheese and piece of dill. The combo was incredibly good, the smoked salmon was marvelous. It had been a long time since I had eaten smoked salmon, so I was pretty happy, and it was very tasty.
A Scotch egg is something I’ve wanted to eat for a long time, but I had never had the chance. So walking around Broadway Market, I noticed the Scotch eggs, and could not resist. She had a number of different version, but the one that caught my eye the most was the haggis Scotch egg, which was basically a hard boiled egg, covered in haggis sausage, lightly breaded, then deep fried. When I ordered it, she sliced it in half, gave it a pinch of salt, and handed it to me. It was an awesome protein ball, egg, covered in haggis meat, and I loved every bite of it. To get some more meat, I decided to get a roast piri piri chicken at the end. It wasn’t the best chicken I’ve had, perhaps it was a little bland, but it did taste good, and it was pretty cheap for a big amount of chicken. Finally to round out my eating food trip to Broadway Market, I got a couple aubergine rolls, which were eggplant stuffed with feta cheese and a few herbs and spices. They were very tasty, and a great way to end the day at the market in London.

East London's Hottest Restaurants, best Restaurants in London, top Restaurants in London
Although East London was once a derelict neighborhood, it is now the place to be and the place to eat. With locally-sourced ingredients and cultural cachet (and the rent prices to go with it) East London’s food scene is no longer a secret.
Eastway
Eastway
On the outskirts of East London, in the city’s business district, this East End brasserie within the Andaz London Liverpool Street has tapped into the local art scene, with works by street artists. When it comes to food, head chef Dunleavy doesn’t disappoint, and the highlight at this brasserie is the “Meats from the Grill” section of the menu that showcases Eastway’s signature style. There’s a communal table to encourage interaction among guests or to simply share with friends while sipping specialty cocktails and indulging in tapas. During the warmer months, guests can dine al fresco while people watching on the Liverpool Street terrace.
Rawduck
This all-day dining restaurant in London Fields is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and Sunday roasts, and the menu evolves and changes depending on availability of fresh ingredients. The restaurant takes a healthful (but not raw or vegan) approach to eating by creating a menu that incorporates current produce and local ingredients sourced only from trusted suppliers. The menu is full of homemade pickles, jams, and drinking vinegars, and the wine is carefully selected from a small number of suppliers who source natural and biodynamic wines. It doesn’t matter what time of day you sit down at a communal table at Rawduck—it’s always going to be good.
Ellory
Ellory
When chef Matthew Lucas Young and sommelier Jack Lewens met at a wine event a few years ago, they immediately clicked, and their friendship and partnership gave rise to Ellory. The intimate space plays host to incredible meals that change daily according to what’s fresh, thanks to the restaurant’s relationship with local growers and producers. The wine offered is matched to the daily menu, but is heavily dominated by the Old World. Both men are extremely passionate about what they do and the reservations, which fill up fast, prove they know what they are doing.
Wheeler’s Oyster Bar & Grill Room
With a menu conceived by the enigmatic Marco Pierre White, the “godfather of modern British cooking,” Wheeler’s Oyster Bar & Grill Room, located within Threadneedles Hotel London, focuses on high-quality British ingredients such as local fresh catch and an indulgent menu with a flair for flavor. Threadneedles was once a bank, and the old bank counter is now dedicated to oysters and Champagne. The restaurant also boasts a distinctive gin selection, a world-class wine list, and craft cocktails. In the evenings before 7 pm, guests can enjoy two oysters and a glass of house champagne for £10, making it a welcoming environment for those wanting to indulge on a budget.
Polo Bar
Polo Bar
Located within The Westbury in Mayfair, the stylish and elegant Art Deco–inspired Polo Bar has won countless awards for their cocktails and is often considered among the best bars in London. With an exquisite drinks list, Polo Bar is crowded with executives during the day and anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a sophisticated cocktail during the evening. But it’s not just the drinks—Polo Bar has an extraordinary selection of food and nibbles to savor as well. With an entire page dedicated to small plates to share, ranging from Beluga caviar to Scotch egg, there are options for any palate.
Hawksmoor
A classic steakhouse and cocktail bar with several locations, including a new one opening in New York, Hawksmoor Spitalfields has dominated the East London dining scene for a decade. Serving British beef sourced exclusively from Tim Wilson of The Ginger Pig, and cocktails created by Nick Strangeway, the Spitalfields location is the signature restaurant and model of all Hawksmoor restaurants. The steaks here are big cuts and the portions are hefty, so come with an appetite. For those looking for something lighter, their Cellar Bar has a short cocktail list and a menu of sandwiches and snacks.
The Jones Family Project
Jones Family Project
This modern steakhouse and cocktail bar in Shoreditch is visually exhilarating. Downstairs, the massive main dining room has an open kitchen. The Jones Family Project places the main focus on the meat, sourced from Britain’s best farmers and butchers, although they do cater to vegetarians who might have mistakenly made a reservation. The extensive wine list has more than 20 choices by the glass, and their cocktail list features in-house aged ingredients. They are open daily Monday to Saturday and for traditional Sunday roast.

SUMMARY:
- Charles Ergen prefers a lunch of sandwiches in a brown paper bag over 5-star restaurant dishes. On his business travels, he shares rooms with his colleagues and never flies first class.
- Carlos Slim Helu doesn’t have high-end tailored suits. He has the funds to purchase private jets, yachts, and limousines, but he still drives an old Mercedes-Benz.
- Forbes magazine reported in 2007 that Jim Walton has driven to and from work in a rusting Dodge Dakota pickup for over 15 years.
- Before his retirement, John Caudwell rode his bike 14 miles to and from work every day. He told Forbes magazine that he doesn’t need Savile Row suits and prefers to buy from the British retailer Marks & Spencer. John doesn’t have a taste for expensive wines, and he even cuts his own hair.
- Amancio Ortega eats lunch with his employees at his company cafeteria every day. The multibillionaire is more often seen on the factory floor checking new products with his designers than cooped up inside a spacious private office.
- David Cheriton flies economy class, and has lived in the same home for over 35 years. Cheriton’s style can be summed up as jeans and a T-shirt, and he enjoys cycling to work.
- Azim Premji prefers to fly coach and drives an old Toyota Corolla, which is an upgrade from his worn-out Ford Escort. Premji has also been seen riding a 3-wheeled auto rickshaw when he arrives home from his business trips.
- Mark Zuckerberg is content with a uniform of a T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers instead of tailored suits and expensive leather shoes.
- Warren Buffett prefers a simple and frugal life. He still lives in the same 6,000-square-foot, 5-bedroom house he bought for $31,500 in 1958 in Omaha, Nebraska.
- Bill Gates knows where to put his brain and money, which he proved more than 4 decades ago. Although he is no longer the CEO and chairman of the company, Bill Gates remains a board member because, like his longtime friend Warren Buffett, he is more drawn to his own charitable foundation.
- Jeff Bezos donates to other foundations like the nonprofit TheDream.US. Reportedly, he drives a Honda Accord, and his desk at Amazon is made from a wooden door. He also made sure that Amazon’s other furniture was bought from garage sales and auctions.

IELTS LISTENING TIPS
To help you in your IELTS preparation, here are some tips for the listening test.
TIP #1 Take care with spelling. If you spell a word incorrectly, it will be marked as incorrect.
TIP #2 Similarly, take care with word endings: if the correct answer is cats and you write cat, your answer will be marked as incorrect.
TIP #3 Beware of distractors - this is information put into the recording that is similar to the answer, but is not the answer. For example, if you are listening for someone's date of birth, you might hear a date, but might be for something else.
TIP #4 You will be given some time to read the questions before each recording is played. Read the questions very carefully as you will hear each recording only once, so you want to be familiar with the questions before you hear the recording
TIP #5 Write down your answers while you listen - you will need to write and listen at the same time.
TIP #6 Don’t worry if you don’t understand everything you hear. Listen out for the keywords from the questions and focus on what you need to be listening out for.
TIP #7 If you miss a question, don’t dwell on it because you may miss the answer to the next one. So, if you miss one, move on.
Tip #8: Make sure you follow the word count in the instructions of each question. For example, if the instructions say “write no more than one word” and you write “the train” instead of “train”, your answer will be marked as incorrect.
NOTE: In the IELTS exam, you will have 10 minutes to copy your answers to the official IELTS listening test answer sheet. You can download a copy of the answer sheet here:

Protest against dictator unelected fascist and racist president Janine Añez in London
Free West Papua TV:
We condemn coup d’état against Bolivian President Evo Morales.
We condemns the coup d’etat against Bolivian President Evo Morales and the MAS government, and demands that the attacks on Morales and other MAS leaders, by right-wing gangs must stop. These include an attack on Evo Morales’ home, the fire-bombing of the homes of other MAS Ministers, and holding their relatives hostage in order to force their resignations. This is terror.
We also demand an end to targeted attacks on the innocent civilians of Bolivia which has consistently supported the MAS government and its progressive policies.
We demands that the safety of President Morales and other MAS leaders is protected by Bolivian authorities, and that the international community must add their voices to this demand.
President Morales’ decision to hold new elections was aimed to prevent bloodshed by the coup plotters, who have declared the October 20 re-election of Evo Morales ‘fraudulent’ after 13 years of their unsuccessful opposition to Morales’ popular government and policies benefiting the poor, the Indigenous Peoples, the working class and small farmers. Morales led the first Indigenous led government in the Americas since colonisation.
The opposition did not accept new elections and the military then told Morales he had to resign. This is a coup backed by the military, the violent anti-democratic and racist opposition, the corporations and the wealthy, actively aided and abetted by the United States, Canada, and European Union.
The coup against President Morales and the MAS government is a virtual carbon copy of the attempted coup against the Maduro government in Venezuela last January.
Given British’s support for the pretender Guaido and the coup plotters in Venezuela, we demand the British government end – and make public- any British involvement in the coup d’etat in Bolivia, and that the government and Parliament unconditionally condemn the coup against President Morales and the MAS government.
The blood covered fingerprints of US imperialism, the Organisation of American States, and the Lima Group are all over these attempts to roll back and defeat progressive governments in Latin America. How many more coups will there be against progressive governments elected in Latin America?
