When anyone asks me about Vancouver I can honestly hand on my heart say, it’s one of the best places I have ever ever visited.
Why?
Quite literally, the atmosphere. Vancouver’s clean air is thanks to it’s really close connection to nature. There are mountains and forests surrounding the City, and the Pacific ocean is right on the cities doorstep. Here the great outdoors isn’t just a place, it’s a way of life. But it’s a modern City waiting to be discovered as well. So in this guide, we’re going to help you make the most of it! We’re going to look at food, money, transport, and a whole lot more, but first let’s get from the airport.
Vancouver International airport is less than 10 miles from Downtown area, and is Canada's second busiest airport, after Toronto Pearson International.
Getting between the airport and the City Centre is relatively straightforward – a 20-minute taxi ride will cost around $45.
Another way into the City is the SkyTrain – it's a bit like London's DLR with driverless carriages, you take the Canada line for half an hour or so, and it costs around $7.
Vancouver has an extensive public transport network, as well as being a really easy place to dive. Here’s what you need to know:
Now it’s not often that we can tell someone to drive a car through a major City, but in Vancouver drive away until your heart's content! We hired a car and cannot recommend it enough. Thanks to the Cities grid system, wide roads with plenty of easy understood signs and generally well-tempered drivers - driving was an absolute doddle! There’s ample parking wherever you go, even at the busy tourist hotspots, not to mention fuel is cheap, and traffic generally wasn’t too bad in our experience.
Vancouver Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Vancouver – a city regularly voted “the World’s most livable”. With breezes that carry the scents of nature and aromas of all the urban delights you’d expect from a city, it’s easy to understand why visitors flock to this Canadian city.
When ready, browse vacation packages to Vancouver:
#Explore the early history of #Vancouver at Waterfront Station, the western terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway. On your #vacation, experience the interweaving of cultures in Chinatown, where the fusing of Oriental flavors with local seafood has helped earn the city the title, “the Culinary Capital of Canada.”
After visiting Vancouver’s central highlights, ride the ferry to Granville Island. From Granville Island, head to Queen Elizabeth Park on Little Mountain, a peaceful oasis high above the city.
When it’s time to answer the call of the wild, cross the Lions Gate Bridge to The North Shore, a wilderness where bears roam and salmon-filled rivers flow through old-growth forests.
Less than a two-hour drive from the city is Whistler Blackcomb Resort, the largest ski resort in North America. The beautifully connected runs here cater to all skill levels and attract elite skiers and beginners from all over the globe.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

Vancouver British Columbia Canada - Things To Do In Vancouver BC
Vancouver Canada is one of the most interesting cities on the west coast of North America Vancouver British Columbia is also a popular departure port for cruises to Alaska and Hawaii aboard a variety of major cruise lines including Holland America, Celebrity, And Royal Caribbean.
Vancouver is an easy city to get around to major tourist attractions especially if you buy a ticket for the Vancouver Trolley. The great thing about the Vancouver trolley is you can hop-on or hop-off at any of their regularly scheduled stops all day.
Canada Place is Vancouver's cruise terminal with convention space and a major hotel. The hotel right at the dock is pretty expensive so I like to stay a couple of blocks away at the Delta Suites. Its within easy walking distance even dragging along your rolling luggage. Other popular attractions in Vancouver are the Gastown district, Granville island and Stanley Park.
This video is an original work created from photos and video I took in Vancouver. The titles, graphics and special effects were created with video editing software on my computer.

1:30 - Granville Island (the best part of Granville Island is the Public Market, with all the food choices you could ever hope for). Here's the website for more info:
3:41 - Canada Place (this is where the cruise ships depart from)
4:32 - Gastown and Steam Clock (trendy part of Vancouver with cute shops and restaurants)

If you have any questions about any of the places we visited today, ask us in the comments below. We loved exploring Vancouver and can't wait to go back.

Top Things To Do In Vancouver, Canada 2019
Hey Must Do Travels Tribe! Today we are in Vancouver, Canada, a bustling west coast city that is one of the most ethnically diverse. The city is surrounded by mountains and also has thriving art, theatre and music scenes. Let’s go check it out!
Canada Place 0:33
Located in the heart of Vancouver's waterfront, Canada Place is a famous landmark and also acts as a venue for world-class events and provides the ultimate Canadian experience. Canada Place hosts Canada Day festivities on July 1st every year and is the largest Canada Day celebration outside of Ottawa.
Deep Cover 1:32
Deep Cove is a stunning seaside village in North Vancouver. It’s a perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts to go on walks and hikes as well as do some water sports such as kayaking and paddle boarding.
Grouse Mountain 2:31
Rising at an amazing 4,100 feet above Vancouver and just 15 minutes from downtown, you will find the alpine playground of Grouse Mountain. The iconic Red Skyride will bring you to see jaw-dropping view unfold before your eyes. As Vancouver’s most popular attraction, Grouse Mountain can be visited during all 4 seasons throughout the year.
Lynn Canyon 3:32
Lynn Canyon Park is home to a variety of beautiful scenic hiking trails. Here, you can find the famous Lynn Canyon Suspension bridge which stretches across the beautiful canyon with raging waters, waterfalls and deep pools below. I’ts a great alternative to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, which is also amazing. The best part? It’s free!
Stanley Park 4:31
Conveniently located on the northwestern edge of downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park is one of the city's main tourist destinations, which attracts approximately 8 million visitors each year. Here, you can find some lovely beaches, beautiful hiking trails, Canada's largest aquarium and an array of kid-friendly spots which makes it a perfect family destination.
Yale Town 5:31
Once an industrial district, today Yaletown is one of Vancouver’s trendiest neighbourhoods. It’s home to many of the city’s hottest restaurants, bars and nightclubs and trendy shops.

VANCOUVER - 3 Hidden(ish) Gems near Vancouver(ish)
Check out some of the best hidden(ish) gems outside of Vancouver, BC: from taking the Sea to Sky Gondola, to kayaking in Deep Cove, North Vancouver and ending the day watching sunset at Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver.
✈✈✈
Vancouver, Canada has been named one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and it is a great deal to do with the fact that the mountains and ocean are right at it’s doorstep.
Want to get out of the city? Easy. There is so much to see and do and while Macca was in town, Brianna took him to a few of her favourite hidden gems just outside the city.
Deep Cove Kayak, located right in the small community of Deep Cove, on the North Shore, is a one stop, ocean sport shop. They rent kayaks and canoes, stand up paddle boards and surfskis as well as offer lessons and outings for all of it.
Cruising the waters in this secluded bay is one of the most beautiful spots in North Vancouver. You can also paddle up Indian Arm and camp overnight if you want a longer journey.
If you’re heading towards Whistler, you’ve got to stop at the Sea to Sky Gondola. The views speak for themselves. It’s a relaxing alternative to hiking up the Chief and once you’re at the top, you can walk across the suspension bridge, head to multiple look out points and enjoy a refreshment or two.
The panoramic views of Howe Sound will stay with you for a while.
Before the sun disappears, head to Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver. You will often see engagement or grad photo shoots going on because it is so picturesque at sunset.
It’s a peaceful and secluded way to end the day.

How to get from downtown Vancouver to downtown Victoria, taking BC Ferries and booking through the BC Ferries Connector.
BC Ferries Connector:
It is possible to plan your own way to the ferry terminal, but for people who don't know the route very well (like me) I believe this is a convenient and affordable solution.
Note - in the video I mention that there are different stops available to get off the bus in Victoria. It's also possible to chose a different location to get on the bus in Vancouver. There are a few different pick up locations across downtown. For me, heading to Pacific Central Bus Station was the easiest option though.
Disclaimer - after learning about BC Ferries Connector, I reached out to the Wilson Group and they offered complimentary travel between Vancouver and Victoria for making this video.
