Augsburg Christmas Markets were our first ever Christmas Markets in Germany, and weren't they spectacular! The Christkindlemarkt in Augsburg are some of the oldest Christmas markets in Germany and are set up to truly display the spirit of Christmas. If you are looking for some German Christmas markets that are family friendly and bring out some true Christmas charm, then these markets are for you! Even if you just want to check out some markets that aren't as big as Nuremberg or Munich, then Augsburg really hits the spot.

Hi, we are Erin and Francis, aka the Honeymooners! We are a couple travelling the world for a year on our honeymoon.

It is a university town and it is the third-largest city in Bavaria (after Munich and Nuremberg) with a population of 286,000 citizens. After Neuss and Trier, Augsburg is Germany's third oldest city, being founded by the Romans as Augusta Vindelicorum, named after the Roman emperor Augustus.
Augsburg was the home of two patrician families that rose to great prominence internationally, replacing the Medicis as Europe's leading bankers, the Fugger and the Welser families.
Germany is a Western European country with a landscape of forests, rivers, mountain ranges and North Sea beaches. It has over 2 millennia of history. Berlin, its capital, is home to art and nightlife scenes, the Brandenburg Gate and many sites relating to WWII. Munich is known for its Oktoberfest and beer halls, including the 16th-century Hofbräuhaus. Frankfurt, with its skyscrapers, houses the European Central Bank.

I eat 10 lbs. of blueberries in 24 hours which may be a record... but just to make sure, after eating 10 pounds of blueberries I ate the most blueberries ever eaten in 1 minute, setting a new Guinness Book of World Records beating the former champion by 7 blueberries, eating 97 blueberries in one minute.

The Striezelmarkt in Dresden, Germany is one of the oldest Christmas markets in the world
A Christmas market, also known as Christkindlmarkt (literally: Baby Jesus Market), Christkindlesmarkt, Christkindlmarket, Christkindlimarkt, and Weihnachtsmarkt, is a street market associated with the celebration of Christmas during the four weeks of Advent. These markets originated in Germany, but are now being held in many other countries. The history of Christmas markets goes back to the Late Middle Ages in the German-speaking part of Europe, and in many parts of the former Holy Roman Empire that includes many eastern regions of France.The Christmas markets of Bautzen were first held in 1384.
