Diverhotel Lanzarote
Here is more info on Diverhotel, Lanzrote.
This is a 4 star hotel, situated 10 minute drive from Arrecife and about 4 minute drive from Teguise front (Costa Teguise is further inland so is more of a drive)
MY OPINION:
I think this hotel is very well managed, the cleaners do great jobs, the staff are extremely helpful and it is a very nicely laid out resort, the price we payed and what we got for it, I’d say it is extremely worth it money wise.
ROOMS:
The rooms were standard, we had a superior room which only costed us a little extra but seeing pictures of the normal rooms, I think it was a good purchase, superior is much more modern and you also get wine delivered when you get to your room. There are themed rooms you can get for I think £100 more. The room already comes with a hair dryer. There is lots of storage.
FOOD: The food here is excellent, I think it’s every 2 nights there is a theme, one night might be Mexican, 2 nights later maybe Italian so you can see it is very multi-cultural and has food for all ages, like at breakfast, there are croissants, pancakes and many other things that you would have for breakfast, things from all over the world. They have an area where it is all freshly cooked, crepes are served at Lunch and dinner, meat is cooked there too. There is always pizza for lunch and dinner, 5 different types. Food wise it is very good and what you would want on a holiday.
OUTSIDE THE HOTEL:
There is a very nice town nearby which is Teguise, it has cafes, bays, bike hires, shops etc. There is a promenade to get to it too so by the sea, it takes 20 minutes to get there. There is a back door to get to it, it’s near the mini golf which is on site by the Kids club (ask reception for more info on how to get to it because it is in its own area of the resort.) There is a bus to Arrecife (not sure how many times a day) where there are lots to do and lots of interesting things there. In Costa Teguise there is a market I think every Sunday (not sure about Saturday) which is where you can get a lot of your things such as shirts, magnets, wrist bands etc.
ONSITE ACTIVITIES:
There is a mini golf area for a £10 deposit (which you get back when you return) the daytime entertainers host many things like pool tournament, golf tournament, darts, pool activities etc.
POOL & JACUZZI (I KNOW ITS MISSPELLED IN VIDEO):
The pool here is salt water, which is colder but it is much warmer after a few seconds but you float on it a bit more than normal water. There is a kid’s pool with 3 slides which are good. I think based on our stay (start of June) you don’t have to go down in the morning, even at 1 p.m. there are plenty of sunbeds in good places.
OTHER INFO:
Queuing for food isn’t a problem as it is very unpopulated in this hotel. The balcony we had was great, as you can see on video. I think this hotel does deserve the 4 stars given. There is a indoor and outdoor bar.

Sandos Papagayo Lanzarote ( Playa Blanca ) Travel Video
A tour of the huge Sandos Papagayo Hotel in Playa Blanca Lanzarote. Want to know what this place looks like before you book? Look no further! The Sandos Papagayo is a large hotel on the outskirts of Playa Blanca, on the south coast of Lanzarote. the hotel has 488 rooms.It is situated near to the Papagayo beach, an approximate 40 minute (3km) walk into Playa Blanca.
The location of the hotel is fabulous, especially if you like to be slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of town. It is right on the seafront with a small beach a stone throw away. The back of the hotel backs onto a promenade, which you can follow right into Playa Blanca. Half way between the hotel and Playa Blanca is the Rubicon Manrina, a vibrant place with shops and restaurants surrounding the marina. A couple of minutes walk away from the Marina, along the promenade you'll find a small shopping centre. There's a taxi rank right outside too.
The Sandos Papagayo offers either half board or an all inclusive option. When staying all inclusive you can upgrade to a royal elite package. The royal elite package offers many benefits, including;
* Breakfast and evening meal in a separate royal elite only dining room
* Exclusive access to 2 royal elite lounges (one adult only and the other with access to a roof terrace), where you can help yourself to a range of drinks including wine (red, white, rose and cava), bottled beers, a large selection of both branded and local spirits, and soft drinks.
* A bottle of cava on arrival
* A guaranteed sea view room
* Additional Aloe Vera Toiletries

* A mini fridge stocked with water, beer and soft drinks (this isn't replenished)
* Bottled water, replenished daily
* Tea and coffee making facilities, replenished daily
* A nightly turn down service with chocolates left on your pillow
The hotels other facilities are excellent. There are 3 main pools, one being adult only, with a spa also hosting 2 jacuzzis and a sauna (spa treatments and massages are available from the spa also for an extra charge) There is a large buffet dining area with a smaller Italian buffet area attached, as well as a pre bookable restaurant that offers Mexican or Chinese food, depending on the night you go. There is also a snack bar. In addition for drinks there is the plaza bar on the ground floor, a pool bar, a canarian bar, the green room which has a bar, and an additional bar by reception where evening entertainment in provided (entertainment is also available in the plaza bar, plus there is children's entertainment available on another room on the ground floor.)
There are shops in the hotel selling essentials and souvenirs plus pool tables and ping pong table dotted around. the hotel also has a kids club and a mini-golf course. the hotel is huge, there is no doubt about it, but if you like to explore there always seems to be more to find.
We spent a week at this hotel, and have booked to return. We loved the hotel and thoroughly recommend it, check out the video to see more of the highlights.

The Tapas List
ta·pas
ˈtapəs/
noun
Small Spanish savory dishes, typically served with drinks at a bar. You don't have to visit Spain to enjoy great tapas (although, wouldn't that be great??) In BC, we have a variety of share plate restaurants that serve up traditional Spanish tapas, to tapas with more of a West Coast ( #pnw) flair! We went on a delicious adventure to test out some of the best bites in the city and give to you, The Tapas List!
5. Bin 941
All of the trendy, and even more importantly, all of the tapas at Bin 941 on Davie St. Their speciality? New York-style tapas cuisine - tapas with flavour as big as the Big Apple!
4. Ten Ten Tapas
Take that Ten and multiply it by another Ten and that will give you the number of tapas we could eat in one sitting at Ten Ten Tapas.
3.Homer St. Café
Cool, homey, and Parisian-esque, Homer St. Cafe and Bar is also the place for savoury, well-executed tapas! Our favs? The fried-chickpea dip and crisps and the maple butter pork belly!
2. España
Proof that you don't have to leave Vancouver to get a taste of Spain! Order: everything.
1. Bodega on Main
In Spanish, a bodega is a small grocery/wine shop in an urban setting. Bodega on Main, is small, intimate, urban, and traditionally delicious - with a modern twist! Make sure to order the Boquerones en Vinagre!

ABOUT PUERTO DEL CARMEN:
Puerto del Carmen is located on the south-east side of Lanzarote and is the longest established and best known resort on the island, in fact, most of Lanzarote's over 2 million visitors per year choose this town as their destination. In the 70’s there were only two hotels, the San Antonio (VIK hotels group) located at the Los Pocillos beach and Los Fariones (Grupo Fariones) situated near to the Old Town. Today, Puerto del Carmen has plenty of accommodation from apartments, impressive luxury private villas, to the newer hotels like Seaside Jameos Playa and Las Costas in Los Pocillos, Hotel Beatriz Playa or Las Gaviotas in Matagorda. The Avenida de las Playas, the main avenue, known by expats as The Strip, is accompanied by 6 km of beaches, starting from the Old Town all the way to Matagorda, close to the airport. Locals are friendly and are ready to help.
Puerto del Carmen consists of 3 main beaches:
Playa Blanca (also known as Playa Grande), this is the big beach, the best known beach in Puerto del Carmen, over a kilometre long with plenty of sunbeds, swan pedalos, water sports and a water park.
Playa Chica, this is the small beach close to the old harbour (Old Town) great for diving, scuba diving, flyboard, parascending, and jet skis for hire. Playa de los Pocillos, the widest and also over a kilometre long of golden sand with sunbeds.
Playa Matagorda, also a five star beach from which you can walk all the way to the airport, popular for plane spotting. Further on, at the end of Puerto del Carmen, you find Lanzarote’s dog friendly Guacimeta beach.
If you come to Puerto del Carmen try to be here for the best carnival in Lanzarote, a party that starts from 5pm till late, from Matagorda area making its way through the main avenue all the way to the Old Town. Puerto del Carmen also hosts another great event, known all over the world, the Lanzarote Ironman, it takes place each May, with the swimming starting at Playa Grande, in front of Linekers Bar, continuing with a bike ride around the island and finalizing with a marathon with laps from Playa Grande to Matagorda, making Lanzarote the destination for world-class athletes.
