Terus, katanya tanaman bambu yang jadi tanaman pembawa hoki, banyak disini dibagi-bagiin oleh perempuan jepang di acara ini. Kalo gak salah disebutnya fuku fusume girl. Gak ngerti artinya, tanaman bambonya dibawa kerumah, kalo gak salah ditanem dirumah.
Oharae | Shinto Cleansing Ritual
Oharae, or harae/harai is a Shinto cleansing/purification ritual. We decided to have an Oharae done to cleanse the house of any angry or bad spirits (or ghosts), particularly with the all the noise and mess we were making in the house with the renovations.

Beautiful Kyoto: Shaping the Sacred (Preserving Japan's Decorative Metalwork Tradition) [4K]
Step into the fascinating world of Japanese metalwork with the craftsmen of Kyoto’s Morimoto Decorative Metal Workshop, some of the foremost kazari kanagu artisans in the old capital. Kazari kanagu are the pieces of decorative metal you will most often see on Kyoto’s shrine and temple architecture in the form of ornate locks, gilded lanterns, engraved panels, and glittering statuary. Preserving traditional methods that enable them to both create new pieces and repair aged metalwork, the influence of the Morimoto Decorative Metal Workshop can be seen everywhere in Kyoto, from the humblest of local shrines to the most famous of sight-seeing temples. In this video you can hear directly from the craftsmen themselves about their profession and what it means to them, and explore both the process of creating new lanterns and the work that goes into repairing weatherworn metalwork.
Go to Discover Kyoto to learn even more and watch videos of the metalworking process in action here:
Inside The Studio Ghibli Museum + Tokyo Cat Cafe! | Solo Travel Japan Vlog
Even though you may not be allowed to film or take photos inside the Studio Ghibli Museum, I found an a-okay way to still share with you a little of what's inside of this notoriously-hard-to-get-tickets-to museum - watch for the reveal!
What I will say now, is that if you're a fan of Studio Ghibli, this Tokyo-based museum NEEDS to be on your travel itinerary (just make sure you buy your tickets well in advance - like MONTHS in advance!). You can watch an exclusive museum-only short film in their cinema, wander through room replicas of Hayao Miyazaki and his team's animation studios, and even see a lifesize Cat Bus and eat Ghibli-themed meals in their cafe!
If that wasn't cute enough, I also visited an adorable cat cafe in the nearby neighbourhood of Kichijoji - it is seriously a super kawaii way to spend an afternoon!
Let me know what your favourite Studio Ghibli film is in the comments! Mine is Spirited Away, but I also love Howl's Moving Castle and My Neighbour Totoro ????

A Natural Paradise in JAPAN | Forest Walk Through a Hidden Spot in KYOTO
Japan’s nature is beautiful! We found this natural hidden spot in Kyoto and on this trip we visit the popular Kiyomizu dera temple and hike up the mountain for a forest walk and to explore some natural scenery. This forest is a hidden gem in Kyoto where you can really feel the peace, just be careful not to get lost!
Kiyomizu dera temple is definitely one of the most beautiful places I have seen in Japan. If you walk past the red pagoda and hike up the mountain, you will find yourself surrounded by Japan’s nature. At the top you can see a beautiful view over Kyoto as well as some ryokan houses. As I have been to Kyoto many times, I wanted to explore off the beaten path and see the less touristed areas. Going through this beautiful (and spooky) hidden gem Japanese forest was definitely a good decision!

Miyazaki Takachiho Yokagura - Totori no Mai
This dance is about Japanese mythology.
Yokagura is said to have originated from the time when the goddess Amanouzume performed an interesting dance as a part to lure the sun goddess Amaterasu from the cave in which she enclosed herself offended by the misdeeds of Susanoo, her younger brother.
