Secret Sydney 8: Ball's Head Reserve
This Secret Sydney explores the beautiful Balls Head reserve in Waverton, a suburb of Sydney’s lower north shore just 1.5 kilometers west of the Harbour Bridge. Waverton borders the hustle and bustle of the thriving CBD of North Sydney, so it is something of an unexpected gem to discover over nine hectares of uninterrupted bush reserve with panoramic harbor views located right in the heart of Sydney. Balls Head is a refreshingly quiet place compared to Sydney’s other, more popular harbourfront sites. Despite its location, just a few kilometers away from the city, you can feel like you’re worlds away here. Bring along a picnic rug or put on your best bushwalking gear and come and take in the breathtaking city skyline views nestled amongst the rich and vast natural surroundings of the magic of Balls Head.
