SW Dominican Republic Road Trip - Barahona to Bahoruco - Part 2 of 10
Come along on our 5 day road trip to the southwest corner of the Dominican Republic. The team heads out of Barahona into the more mountainous area of Sierra de Bahoruco then back to the coast to continue south toward the most southwestern corner of the Dominican Republic. While there are plenty of rock roads suitable only for a 4WD vehicle, especially heading out through the National Park in Bahoruco, I think you will also agree that contrary to popular belief, most of the roads in the Dominican Republic are in terrific condition, rivaling those in America and Canada.
The Dominican Republic is a tropical paradise that offers all the adventure and exploration opportunities you could ever hope for. This is a few highlights from the first day of our 5 day adventure in the southwestern Dominican Republic. Come along for the ride and discover this enchanting part of the island along with us and see this less developed portion of the island.
Be sure and check out all the other videos of our 5 day adventure.

Bahia De Las Aguilas The Best Beach in Dominican Republic PART 3
I’m taking you on a journey to my favourite and best beach in Dominican Republic
This video is a 3rd part of my trip from Poland to caribean under 1000 euro
In my previous video I took you from bayahibe to Saona ISLAND and my remaining budget is 600 euro
In this video you going to see how to enjoy living in the nature
I will show you how to unzip the door in the tent
how to play dominos
And how to eat breakfast at sea front
We are driving to the West part of the island and we have to drive trough the capital, driving inside the city is a nightmare and crossing it can take anything from 1 up to 2 hours.
Santo Domingo is a specific city, you can see all sort of things on the road. for example if your air conditioning stop working it is very easy to find on the road somebody who can always fix it for you.
If you tired and thirsty there are always many people on the side of the road which are selling cheap and tasty coconut water
We decided to stop for the night just outside Barahona in hotel el maquito, if you decide to stop for the night on a journey like mine This hotel is a perfect place for you
We are heading back on the road and we still have around 4 hours to go.
Soon we will cross Paradise village in Translation Paraiso
This road is only one to head to West and personally I think this roads have the best views in the world
Im really interested to see how is the living in paradise so I decide to stop by for minutes and visit small hotel at the sea front. I do like it a lot and on my youtube channel you can find a full video from this place.
The location and the views are just amazing, imagine you wake up in the morning and view from your bedroom is like this.
this area is so attractive that shortly we are having another stop by the river. This place is a great example of living here in the area. People after work coming here to jump in to a fresh and cold water to enjoy music and local beer.
This is low populated area and my tip for you is to make sure you have cash with you and you will fill your car in the Barahona area because closer you are to national park there is no atm and no shops available to buy anything.
Finally we have riches the national park area, it is evening time and it is too late to go to Bahia de las aguilas beach so tomorrow morning we will go early these boats are for hire and price is including a person which will take you there. Tonight is going to be my first domino game and apparently im good because im always winning.
This eco place offers all tents located just a few steps from the water front. i have to say that views are even better in the morning, the beach is so clean and water crystal clear. My dream is to have a house on a beach, with peace and quiet and living with a bond with nature. Some say the dreams are coming true. As you see most of the furniture here are made simple and from natural materials. Even a bar is eco friendly. there is few places here to sit down and relax and this is what im going to do now.
Green Bananas Mangu with onion, caribbean type salami, eggs and bread. I strongly believe this is one of the best places to sit down and eat your breakfast. im going to enjoy my breakfast and you enjoy the views from the drone.
This is my favourite beach and is ticking all the boxes for me, crystal clear water, far away from everywhere and if the turtles are here this is just a confirmation that we are 100% in the nature.
Today is also our lucky day and we meet people who decide to share some food with us
Our time in Bahia de las aquinas is almost over, let me know in the comment section below what is your opinion about this beautiful place.
This is the end of third part of vacations in caribbean. Im still left with 509 euro in my budged and in my next episode you are going to see were the rich people are living and poor do not have access to
Hoyo Azul Tour 2017 | #7d7nTravel
One of the best ways to get to know a country is to visit its unique natural places. The Dominican Republic offers every type of natural landscape (or as we say, “naturaleza”) imaginable: stunning beaches, mountains and forested valleys, deserts, farms, and fields. The eastern region of Punta Cana boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic, but it is also home to other amazing natural sites.
One incredible place to visit near Punta Cana is the Hoyo Azul Lagoon, also called the Blue Hole. The Hoyo Azul is a natural pool with crystal clear waters, located off the base of a cliff. There are two exhilarating and eco-friendly ways to see this natural wonder. Both excursions are led by experienced guides, and provide pickups from Punta Cana hotels which bring you to the southern Cap Cana. These tours are appropriate for families, especially ones who are active and like to explore.
Pack your bathing suit, hiking shoes and gear up for a Hoyo Azul excursion as a cave explorer, or fly through the air on a zip line!

Pier infront of Las Cuevas, Bahia de Las Aguilas, Dominican Republic
Bahia de Las Águilas Literally Eagles Bay:: Biosphere reserve
Come and discover ther National Park of Jaragua, known as thye biggest of the Dominican Republic, and its marvelous beach playa de las Aguilas. The area is located 323 km from Santo Domingo and approximately 25 km from Pedernales (the nearest town). To reach the spot, first you must travel along the road through the Jaragua National Park Direction Pedernales, you have to turn off about 12 kilometers before reach Pedernales at Exit Cabo Rojo (Red Cape), where the land is literally red and surreal against the larimar-blue water of its shallow beach. From the highway, take the marked turnoff for Cabo Rojo, which curves around near where a large American bauxite mining facility has trucks speeding over the road (be very careful).
Follow the sign directing you to veer left to Bahía de las Águilas.
The 8 km long beach along the southwestern coast of the Dominican Republic has the name of a bird which is living there permanently, the eagle. The playa de las Aguilas is famous to be the nicest beach of the whole country. The climate is very arid and the vegetation is mainly made of cactus and other desert plants.
The thing that visitors like the most about this beach, is that is totally isolated. Discover this paradise of fishermen and lovers of white sand beach and crystal water. To reach this paradise you will go through the village of La Cueva, where local fishermen are living inside caves.
What is missing for the post card ??
The sea is really calm and a light wind will help you not to suffer too much of sun and heat. Be an explorer for one day, of this place entirely ecological, natural and totally unspoiled by human buildings.
You can observe more than 130 species of birds, 76 are living permanently on the bay, 10 are endemics and 47 are migrants.
The red ground road that runs along the bay is comparable to an African savannah landscape.
Here visitors can hire one of the local villagers to take them to the beach bordering the coast on a small motorboat; or with an all-wheel-drive vehicle and a good driver going through the park itself (either way its a 10-15 minute ride).
You also find here an a restaurant/bar which serving fresh seafood and beverages as well: Rancho Tipico (tel. 809/753-8058), location Las Cuevas
