Sound of Music Panorama Tour in Salzburg
On our recent tour in Europe we spent a few days in the beautiful Salzburg and went on the Panorma Original Sound of Music Tour which was truly awesome and so much fun. Our tour guide Peter was humorous and even the husbands that were dragged along enjoyed the experience. The singing in the coach as well as the extra behind the scenes knowledge made the 4 hour tour one of the highlights of our European holiday. This clip is very much edited to reduce the size and time. Thoroughly recommend anyone visiting Salzburg to do this tour.

Sound of Music has always been one of my favorite movies, so how could I not take the opportunity to sing in Mirabell Gardens? (Where the Do Re Mi scene was filmed!)
Hope you enjoy this cover!

During my visit to Salzburg Austria in November of 2007, I took this fabulous Sound of Music Tour that brought you to the different locations that they used to film the very popular movie. It was so much fun and if you decide to take it be prepared for the traditional Do Re Mi sing-a-long on the bus ride back to the city! So much fun!!! If you are a fan of this great movie, you must take the tour!

Driving From Old Town Salzburg To Hallein Salt Mines, Austria
Salzburg (German pronunciation: [ˈzalt͡sbʊɐ̯k] Bavarian: Såizburg; literally: Salt Fortress) is the fourth-largest city in Austria and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg.
Salzburg's Old Town (Altstadt) is internationally renowned for its baroque architecture and is one of the best-preserved city centers north of the Alps. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The city has three universities and a large population of students. Tourists also frequent the city to tour the city's historic center, many palaces, and the scenic Alpine surroundings.
Salzburg was the birthplace of 18th-century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the mid‑20th century, the city was the setting for the musical play and film The Sound of Music.

The Original Sound of Music Tour
Germany & Austria 2017 - Video 14 of 17
In 1949, Maria von Trapp wrote a book about her life entitled The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. She later sold the rights to a West German film production company that produced two German language movies entitled: The Trapp Family, released in 1956, and The Trapp Family in America, released in 1958. In 1959, Rodgers & Hammerstein wrote a Broadway Musical called The Sound of Music, loosely based upon the book, starring Mary Martin. The Broadway Musical won 5 Tony Awards. Then in 1964, film director Robert Wise and 250 cast and crew members traveled to Salzburg Austria to film what is perhaps the most popular movie musical of all time. The Sound of Music, starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, won 5 Oscars. Many of the indoor scenes were filmed in Hollywood, but all of the outdoor scenes were filmed on location in and around the Salzburg area. Today, some 300,000 tourists travel to Salzburg each year to go on the Sound of Music tour. Sue and I took the tour during one of our days in Salzburg. The tour focuses mainly on the production of the movie and how various scenes were shot.
