Testimonials
‘…the magical walks through the sacred Karri forest and along the dramatic cape to cape coastal track are simply breathtaking, and the facilitation and leadership is top notch. Not only does Erika have the academic chops and years of extensive training with creativity leaders around the world to back it up- but she is a true leader and creative spirit herself and was able to take each of us on a unique and very personal journey of exploration into the most beautiful and sometimes not so beautiful corners of ourselves in the name of freedom and self expression. And if you're as lucky as I was - you've a good chance to be surrounded by an incredible group of like-minded individuals who are bound to become fast friends.’
Avi Melniker – writer, development manager
The retreat re-ignited my mojo, connected me to like-minded folk, inspired and enlightened me to the creative blocks and joys in my life. Beautiful bush walks and workshops with fabulous artists including Erika herself. Amazing vegetarian food and divine venue.
Sian Brown – cultural development officer
‘Thanks for taking the time to get to know us all individually Erika! You are very perceptive and are able to help people find their true self! I also appreciated the four weeks follow up coaching!’
Julie King – Teacher
feel grateful and blessed to have had this wonderful gift. A weekend of shared memories created in a pristine, grand space. Our abode, facilitators, meals, fellow participants were all generous and abundant. It was an opportunity to reconnect and remember beauty; a feast for the senses. Heartily recommended. Erika was so generous and present to all. Thank you for being you.

Cape to Cape Walk - Edgewalkers Australia Hikes 2019
The Cape to Cape track is a stunning coastal trail along the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge in the southwest of Western Australia.
The Cape to Cape track offers a remarkable blend of spectacular views, striking geological structures, floral diversity, coastal epicness and a wonderful moderate physical challenge.
We think the best way to get close & intimate with the natural beauty of the region is to walk it!
This is from our last end-to-end walk in March 2019. The weather was fabulous in the whole Margaret River area. All year round is good for walking, least enjoyable is Jan & Feb.
I filmed and photographed all on IPhone and my IPad and edited it on IMovie, FYI. :)

Would you like to trek through pristine wilderness? Well that is exactly what I did with Erika from Edgewalkers when I went to Mongolia on her Creativity walk. Erika keeps the group size small, which makes for a very intimate experience. Beautiful scenery, fresh air, blue skies, and charming Mongolian people and so much more. If you are like me and love adventure, then this trip is for you.
Margaret - Victoria
Went to Mongolia and did a creativity retreat with Edgewalkers, would recommend. Great organisation and facilitation. Stupendous.
Robyn - Bunbury
From the beautiful sights & culture of Ulaanbaatar to the magnificent scenery of remote Mongolia this was a captivating experience. We were immersed in the culture with our guides, devoured magnificent food prepared by our trekking cooks and had our creativity ignited in our daily creative activities. The small group was fantastic and the scenery absolutely took our breath away during our trek. It was a great trekking experience that I would definitely recommend!
Leonie - Victoria
Traveling to this remote corner of the world truly reconnects us with our basic human needs. Love and respect of nature for survival and pure unadulterated pleasure is constantly in your thoughts and touches your Being with every step you take across the Mongolian steps, beside the glacial rivers and onto the Altai mountains. The simple pleasures of good food, a soft dry bed and honest connections with new people reminded me of who I am. Breathing in the pureness of this experience cleansed me and I have returned home fresh and content with world.

Boranup Forest Margaret River Walking Magic
When we walk the two halves of our brain converse Julia Cameron.
Walking through the Karri forest in Australia's southwest is a magical experience and whether our brain converses or not, it is left deeply moved & inspired.
Cape to Cape track plus Meelup trail - 153.8km, 6 days.
More a documentation so I can look back & see what I did, where I walked, what I saw.
Start - Cape Leeuwin
Finish - Dunsborough
Friday 20th April - Day 1- Cape Leeuwin to Hamelin Bay.
19kg backpack. 27kms, 8hrs 13 min. Left pinky & second toe not doing so well. 20 knot headwind
Cape Leeuwin lighthouse - at the meeting point of the Indian & Southern Oceans, marks Australia’s most south westerly tip
Leeuwin Waterwheel - used to pump water from a nearby wetland up to the lighthouse-keepers’ cottages.
Deepdene Beach - 7km of flat, soft sand
Cosy Corner Blowholes - The limestone rock platform pitted with circular holes etched out by thousands of years of solution.
Foul Bay – lighthouse & a nice view to Hamelin Bay
Day 2- Hamelin Bay to Contos Campsite
24.7kms, 6hrs 52 min excludes an extra 3km to see the cliff sunset. Big toe has now joined the pain party. Headwind
Hamelin Bay Jetty - built in 1882 & after several major shipwrecks it was abandoned in the early 1900s.
Boranup Beach - 6.5km sand barefoot. At least 50 fish washed ashore with the waves, I could not save them all.
Boranup Forest - Much of this forest was cut in the 1890s when a thriving timber industry existed. The mature regrowth is now well over 100 years old
Contos Campsite - missed the last turn off to the campsite, walking an extra 2km.
Day 3 - Contos Campsite to Prevelly
19kms, 5hrs 56 min. 3 toenails still giving grief. Headwind
Contos - Packed my gear just before a thunderstorm rolled through, waiting 45mins for the front to pass, standing under a tin shed camp toilet
Cape Freycinet - weaves through coastal heathland along the cliff-tops above Contos Beach.
Bob’s Hollow - limestone cliffs that are vertical to overhanging.
Redgate Beach – high tide meant into the dunes for 2km
Frank Mouritz Bridge - crosses the Boodjidup Creek
Prevelly - inspecting the feet at the campsite - wrinkly & water logged
Day 4 - Prevelly to Moses Campsite
31.3kms, 8hrs 19min. Left big toenail testing my pain threshold. Tailwind
Margaret River - WSL marquees still up from Margaret River Pro that was cancelled due to two shark attacks a week earlier. The Margaret River is the largest waterway to flow out to sea along the Capes coast. No river crossing was needed.
Joeys Nose - named for its resemblance to a joey looking out from its mother’s pouch. The limestone is generally less than 1 million years old, in contrast to the underlying granite & gneiss, which formed 1100 to 500 million years ago.
Gracetown - 18 crazy surfers testing the waters.
Willyabrup Cliffs - the massive sea cliffs formed from old & resistant granitic rocks
Moses Campsite - 11 fellow hikers (going south)
Day 5 - Moses Campsite to Mt Duckworth Campsite
23.8kms, 6rs 46min. That toenail has got to go (it didn't)
Cape Clairault / Injidup Beach - a huge sand dune to the south where kids were bodyboarding down, to the north the Injidup Spa where waves would crash through a crack in the rocks creating a natural spa.
Canal Rocks - Thousands of years of the Ocean crashing against this section of granite coastline has chiseled out a narrow channel between the rocks.
Yallingup - means 'Place of Love' in the Aboriginal dialect
Mt Duckworth Campsite - campsite by myself plus a 2km walk to find the cliff to watch the sunset
Day 6 - Mt Duckworth Campsite to Dunsborough
27.7kms, 6rs 39min. Big toenail is one angry b*tch
3 Bears - 34 surfers out, making the most of the offshore conditions
Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse - another quick stop & onto the Meelup trail
Bunker Bay - white sand, blue ocean. Happened to be going by after a big catch
Eagle Bay - a chance encounter with familiar faces.
Meelup Beach - a popular beach full of people taking advantage of Anzac Day
Castle Bay - another little bay, highlighted by Castle rock
Dunsborough - the finish with many looks from people on their afternoon walk
Finished a day early so a spare day for a bike ride -
Day 7 - Dunsborough to Injidup Spa, back to Dunsborough to Bussleton & back
93.8kms bike ride, 5hrs 32min
Woke up to an amazing sunrise over Dunn Bay
Hired a bike & rode to Injidup Spa through the back streets of Quedjinup trying to avoid Caves Rd. Amazing properties with wineries.
Up to Bussleton along the designated bike/walk path to see the jetty & returned against a headwind pushing all the way to get back before the shop closed.
2 weeks later - Legs & body are fine. Toes no longer hurt but pinky & big toenail are still purple. Lost part of the third toenail

RUNNING THE CAPE TO CAPE TRACK #InJust7Days
DAY 3 // CAPE TO CAPE // WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Why this trail? “An iconic great walk of Australia along the blue azure waters of the Indian Ocean. Each year it’s also the location for major MTB and trail run races in the region”.
Rate it? “A REAL RUNNERS’ run along the surf breaks from the Cape Naturaliste lighthouse start point to the town of Yallingup. Leave the rest to hiking with a backpack.”
Location: Southwestern region of Western Australia at the western edge of the Geographe Bay
Access: 3hr highway drive south of Perth. The trail starts here at Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse.
Sleep: Seashells Yallingup is where we stayed, but there are a range of accommodation options all along the coastal tourist towns.
Terrain: Starts with a few kilometres on concrete track before getting into the excellent running single track along the top of dunes next to famous surf breaks. Once you start hitting some of the beaches stretches the sand is SOFT! Tough going and then the trails turn more into sandy 4×4 tracks. Reasonably well signed throughout. Although navigation on and off the beach access points get a bit tricky at times, but you work it out.
Difficulty: 7/10
