Underwood Wine Bar, an intimate, un-fussy space that will banish any first-date awkwardness with saloon-wrought suave, is Karen Batson's choice for the best date spot in North Fitzroy. Karen, with her partner Gaye, showed our crew her absolute favourite local hotspot when romance is on the cards. It's fair to say 90% of the episode was a much-welcomed piss-take, but the venue choice was not.
One of my favourite places to go for a date is to go to the Underwood, said Batson, conjuring up all the cheesiness she could muster. It's just really nice how you can, you know, stretch across the table and look into someone's eyes and have a little conversation.
Gaye’s couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Her response?
I would rather go to somewhere like... Bounce.

Underwood Wine Bar is a casual, disarming, home-away-from-home where you can be yourself, which is A1 advice for a date.
I really love having a little glass of wine (in) a nice space, chill out with some music and have a chat, said Batson. Nice Antipasto. Charcuterie, both women agreed.
They've got that gorgeous window out the front there where you can just sit and watch people go by, noted Gaye.
And they've also got a little fireplace.
Where? asked Batson.
There, remarked Gaye, as we panned across to the smallest, yet effective, heating device known to man. So good.
You call that a fireplace?! Fuck off, said Batson as everyone in the bar, including crew and other guests, pissed themselves.
Well I came here last week and it was ROARING.
This kind of episode is why we started the show. Melbourne's got a ripping food scene, and even better people running it.

Retro Route 112 Tram Drivers View - D2 Combino 5017 Sunday Afternoon
English - Welcome to another tram upload from Schony747. The route was filmed 7 years ago , so it's filmed in HD Mpeg and not the usual Full HD 4K. Apologies in advance for the dirty windscreen in parts.
This is a tram drivers view of route 112 from West Preston to St Kilda via St Georges Road, Brunswick St Fitzroy, Collins St City, Casino, Clarendon St South Melbourne, Albert Park, Middle Park through to St Kilda.
This run was in a Combino D2 tram. Southbank Tram Depot still had a full fleet of 5 car D2 Combino trams as the newly anticipated Bombardier E Class tram was still under development. On weekends with spare capacity, it wasn't unusual to see D2 trams running on route 112. At 18:25 you will see D2 tram 5007 running towards West Preston.
In July 2014, the route was split up to form the 11 and 12. The 11 ran from West Preston to Victoria Harbour similar to it's fomer City terminus in Collins St and the 12 ran from St Kilda to Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre (IKEA). Both were split to cater for the anticipated demand increase with more apartment buildings being built.
No titles on the video but the usual driver announcements. There is a timing guide to the streets and suburbs the tram runs through which is listed below.

Australian Inland Botanic Gardens is located near Mildura on the banks of the Murray River. TV presenter from Discover Downunder Brooke Hanson talks to Wendy Hallinan about exotic plants grown in the gardens grouped in beds by country of origin. Also featured is the magnificent Rose Garden consisting of 1600 colour co-ordinated plants which is fantastic for weddings. The Botanic Gardens covers 100 hectares and there's only 3 full time gardeners along with a community of volunteers to help maintain it. Melbourne Tram Drivers View - Route 11 West Preston to Victoria Harbour 2018
English - This is mone of my favourite views! Melbourne in Autumn is really beautiful. This route 11 drivers view from West Preston to Victoria Harbour was filmed on a fantastic sunny autumn day in 2018. The weekday departure time was 1241pm from West Preston and the sun was in the correct position. The view from the Northern Suburbs gives a great view of the City Skyline as the tram runs down St Georges Road onto Brunswick St. With the new landscaping on St Georges Road, there is an open and bright feel to the area.
It's a busy time of the year with the Australian Formula One Grand Prix at Albert Park and The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show at The Carlton Gardens both on at the same time.
The Route runs through West Preston and down along St Georges Road through Northcote then through the popular bohemiam area of Brunswick St Fitzroy and the very busy Collins St City through to the developing Victoria Harbour Docklands.
