Egan Chute: Scenes Along the York River (Bancroft, ON - June 2015)
A lot can be found within a very short distance, at Egan Chutes Provincial Park, east of Bancroft. During a short walk, a very calm York River could be spotted, as well as an abandoned open pit soladite mine. However, the calm version of the York River you first see is followed by a raging waterfall just downstream. This waterfall is known as the Egan Chute, and is one of three in the immediate area. The river plunges through a rugged cascade on a winding, narrow section of the waterway.
This video was shot in mid-June, 2015.

Rapids at Chutes Provincial Park
Resting just north of Manitoulin Island near the town of Massy, this park offers great views of the fast flowing rapids. Surprisingly with all of the rapids and rain that had caused them to become so large at the time, there is still a beach (shown in the first clip) that even little kids can play in safely.

Road Ready Campground Review | Chutes Provincial Park | Massey Ontario Canada
Road Ready Campground Reviews: Chutes Provincial Park Massey Ontario Canada. On our way back to the United States after the Fulltime Families Canada Rally, we broke up a long drive with an overnight at Chutes Provincial Park in Massey Ontario Canada. It was a beautiful park, with a waterfall, hiking trails, and huge sites. We only had electricity on the site, but there is water throughout the park, and a dump station on the way out.
Chutes Provincial Park is a recreation class provincial park in Sables-Spanish Rivers, Ontario near the community of Massey, Ontario, Canada. The park is named after a logging chute that diverted logs around the waterfall on the Aux Sables River. The waterfall is considered the main attraction at the park, along with the Seven Sisters Rapids found upstream from the waterfall.
Unlike many other provincial parks, its proximity to Massey allows the park to use the municipal water supply, meaning that water does not have to be boiled before drinking.

Chutes Provincial Park
Chutes Provincial Park is along historic Hwy17 in the Near North of Ontario. The park is small but boasts big rapids(chutes). The surroundings are amazing! But, this is bear country so be cautious!

On August 15, 2008 I was camping at Chutes Provincial Park & was amazed by this spendid view. The video shows the Aux Sables River where it turns into a large powerful waterfall within the park. I loved the rich amber colour of the fast water.
Hiking Into Egan Chute
May 18 2014
Out on a road trip from Kingston, we made our way to our main destination, Egan Chute Provincial Park. It's located on the York River about 15 minutes east of Bancroft along Hwy 28. It's not an official park so not clearly marked at the roadside.
It involves a hike in. The trail is along a rough road at the beginning, then becomes a narrow and less easy path along the river.
This time of year, the York River is flowing heavy so the 'chute' is a roaring, raging waterfall! The bonus was, no annoying bugs!
