Background:
In October 2018, the Egham Hythe History Group (EHHG) consisting of a small group of Egham Hythe residents and The Friends of The Hythe, and supported by Runnymede Borough Council and Egham Museum, came together to organise the first Egham Hythe History Festival for 2019 to promote the history and community life in Egham Hythe.
As part of this year-long celebration, the group have created a calendar, supported Runnymede Borough Council's Egham Hythe Trail and Hythe Park Celebration. Incorporating memories and photographs from the residents, Egham Museum created a touring pop-up exhibition and this 'Memories of Egham Hythe' film, featuring many of the EHHG members.
Thank you to everyone who shared their stories with us.

In this micro-documentary made by Claire Kennan, a PhD student at Royal Holloway specialising in medieval history, we explore the reputation and image of King John. Was he as bad as we commonly believe? What was expected of a medieval king and how does John compare with his father, Henry II, and elder brother, Richard I? Was John solely responsible for the crisis that led to the sealing of Magna Carta?
