Five Seas Hotel
----------
Open in 2011 next to Cannes famous Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage church between the rue d’Antibes and the Festival Palace, the Five Seas Hotel Cannes immediately distinguished itself from its competitors by disrupting the traditional luxury hotel codes of the city. The Five is a design boutique hotel with 45 rooms and suites in the heart of Cannes, just a few steps from the Croisette! This daring and innovative project was crowned with success, and its aesthetic character quickly became contagious. Upon entering the lobby, one is immersed in the very special atmosphere of the hotel. Based on the poetic concept of an “immobile journey”, the lobby sets the tone of evasion and exoticism with a variety of second hand and antique objects from all over the world. And all of this talent and knowhow have only one goal: to create a sense of “elsewhere”. The rooms are spacious, contemporary and comfortable, each with a canopy bed paying tribute to the great French hotel tradition and providing a very special sense of hospitality. The 125 square meter suite, like all of the 45 rooms and suites, has free minibar and Wi-Fi, services, but the suite also has a jacuzzi with transparent walls. The Five is very proud of its restaurant, the Sea Sens which earned a star in the prestigious Michelin Guide in 2014 and 2015, rewarding the creative cuisine of Chef Arnaud Tabarec, a firm believer in simple cooking totally dedicated to taste and the pleasure of dining. Arnaud works in collaboration with Jérome de Oliviera, elected the world’s champion pastry chef in 2009, who, in addition to creating the hotel’s desserts, has his own pastry boutique on the ground floor: “Intuitions by Jérôme de Oliveira” And the icing on the cake so to speak, is the infinity swimming pool on the roof. Built with stainless steel it’s both striking and amusing and has been instrumental in making the rooftop of the Five a festive and popular Cannes hot spot, especially when the dj adds his atmospheric touch once night falls.

Places to see in ( Cannes - France ) Eglise Notre Dame d'Esperance
The Notre Dame d'Espérance is a parish church catholic located in France in the town of Cannes in the department of Alpes-Maritimes. It is dedicated to Notre-Dame on the Place de la Castre in the district of Suquet , and has been classified as a historical monument since July 28, 1937.
The construction, begun in 1521 on the deniers of the Cannois, spread over a hundred years to be completed in 1627, despite the order specifying that it should be erected in imitation of that of Roquebrune -on-Argens, measuring 18 canes long, 6 wide and completed within 3 years with 2,000 guilders, 15 ECU and 50 barrels of anchovy . It replaces the fortified church Notre-Dame-du-Puy built by the monks of the Abbey of Lérins , become chapel Sainte-Anne , too small and finally abandoned by the parishioners because too dependent on the castle and monks commendataires
After having been blessed, the church is dedicated to Our Lady of Hope on March 25, 1645, on the feast of the Annunciation. This shrine, whitewashed and paved, needs to be adorned. This is why the chapels are assigned one after the other to craft brotherhoods of Cannes of different trades. They date from the xvii th and xviii th century.
The church is Gothic . Its porch is in Renaissance style . It is surmounted by a tower -style novel square shape. The side chapels are dedicated to the brotherhoods of craftsmen in charge of their decoration. From the entrance, on the right, we find successively: the chapel of the Baptisms, the chapel Saint-Pierre, the chapel of the Sacred Heart, the chapel of the Virgin. On the other side of the choir, one finds successively: the chapel Saint-Sauveur, the chapel Sainte-Thérèse, the chapel Saint-Nicolas (patron saint of Cannes), the chapel Sainte-Rita. Above the altar, the beautiful and harmonious statue of Our Lady of Hope, gilded wood, dates from the xvii th century. It is placed under the central stained glass depicting the Annunciation.
In the chapel of Baptism, a beautiful and rare from Burgundy sculpture dating from the xiv th century represents St. Anne, the Virgin and the Child Jesus. Other remarkable elements: the altar entirely carved wood of the chapel Saint-Pierre, the rare painting of the death of Joseph between the Virgin and Christ in the chapel Saint-Joseph, the magnificent pulpit with its panels representing the four evangelists, and a beautiful carved wooden Christ xv th century. The church of Notre-Dame de l'Esperance forms with the Castre tower and the chapel Sainte-Anne a group classified MH by decree of July 28, 1937.

Eglise Notre Dame De L'Esperance De Cannes
We enjoyed this place, we dandered straight from the harbour up to the castle, we also wound around the streets and back down to the film theatre. We only walked around the castle and to be honest it was nice but it was mainly for the view, very picturesque. You can get some nice photos of the church from the outside but best of all is the ones you can get overlooking the harbour and la croisette. Inside it is very plain and boring.
