Egersund Wind Park
Egersund Wind Farm is located by Åsheia and Kolldalsheia in the municipality of Eigersund, approximately 5-8 kilometres east of the city of Egersund in Norway.
Egersund Wind Farm will consist of 33 Senvion wind turbines, each generating 3.4 MW for a combined effect of 112.2 MW.
The expected annual production should be around 395GWh, which equates to the annual electric consumption of 20.000 Norwegian households.
Timelapse: The beginning of Earth Hour 2011 in Egersund, Norway
This is a timelapse of Egersund city in southwest Norway. It was actually quite disappointing to watch how few it was that actually took part... The municipality decided last year that they would shut of the street lights for one hour. However it seems like the main street lights doesn't count, and those are the most dominant ones too... Damn...
I am very pleased with the outcome of this timelapse. It might just have been speed up 5 times normal, but it turned out quite well I think. I will make more of these in the future!
Trollpikken
Trollpikken (the Troll's Dick) is a rock formation in Eigersund municipality, in Norway, between Kjervall and Veshovda. A rock jutting out from a cliff face to a height of almost 12 metres (39 ft) resembles an erect penis. In June 2017, the rock was severed using power tools; it was reattached the following month after a crowdfunding campaign.
The local tourist board was discussing using Trollpikken to draw tourists in a similar manner to Trolltunga (the troll's tongue) and Preikestolen (the preacher's pulpit) by providing parking when on June 24, 2017, joggers discovered that the approximately 10-tonne (9.8-long-ton; 11-short-ton) formation had been severed using power tools. 226,000 kroner was raised online to reattach it using a crane assembled on-site; a contractor told a Norwegian TV station, We have the Viagra it takes. It was successfully reattached on July 7, using a combination of cement, glue and metal fittings. By late that month, parking and signs had been provided and NRK reported that at least one suspect had been arrested for the vandalism.

Welcome to Tysnes
Facts about Tysnes:
Covers: 255 Sq. km
Population: Approx. 2800
Centre: Uggdal
The municipality of Tysnes is a group of islands south of Bergen on the Norwegian west coast. For over a hundred years Tysnes has been one of the most popular vacation spots in the southwest of Norway, which can be attributed to its wonderful nature and clean environment.
You can find traces of ancient places in Uggdal, Onarheim and Årbakka. In Uggdalsdalen remnants of an ancient thoroughfare are shown in stone-paved roads and stepping stones over the river. There are also traces of iron age settlement. The islands of Tysnes were already in ancient times visited from all over the region, by people who gathered for religious ceremonies, thus upholding the status as a cult place.
Along the coastline, travelers by boat will find many well hidden places behind inlets and islands with beaches and good fishing spots. Varied vegetation, hilly terrain, mountains, water, woods and long seashores give a foundation for rich animal and bird life.
The nature is characterised by shiny slopes of naked rock and fields of heather in the west, to exuberant forests in the east, lowland and its shores, which includes nice and sheltered swimming places, to the mountains with great ski and hiking grounds, and a panoramic view to the mountains surrounding Bergen. One can enjoy mountain plateaus and altitudes that exceed 750 metres above sea level. One can also enjoy the sight of the glacier Folgefonna in the east, and all the beautiful islands in the great ocean to the south and west.
The main connection to the south is the ferry from Hodnanes on to Jektevik on the island of Stord. To the north the connection goes by ferry from Våge to Halhjem and Bergen. The Tysnes Island is connected to the mainland on the east side by a bridge across Lukksund, and one can continue on to Bergen or Hardanger on this road. Tysnes is a major tourist area with 1400 vacation homes.
Tysnes has traditionally been a farm, fishing, and seafaring community. Today farming is still relatively strong, but the majority of the sailors have moved on to work in the North Sea (oil). The fish farming industry has increased sharply on Tysnes since the mid-eighties.

Rogaland 2012: Passing through Drangedal
I'm *finally* getting around to uploading my videos from my summer vacation - last year! :-o I can't believe I'm this far behind. :-( Better late than never?
My first trip last summer was to Rogaland, a county in the west country here in Norway, to visit a friend who's moved there. The first day was spent on traveling as I took the train there, which takes about 8 hours. I went CRAZY with my camera on the trip so there are way way too many videos from that first day, but I'm not sure how interesting they are. :-)
I got on the train in Drammen after taking the bus there, and we headed off westwards. This video shows a little bit of Drangedal municipality in Telemark county.

The Good Life in Sokndal, Norway
Welcome to the good life in Sokndal!
The municipality of Sokndal is in many respects a unique place worthy of a visit. Here you will find the little extras you are looking for whether you are on vacation, making a short stopover, attending meetings or live in our municipality. Our municipality is situated on the coast with hardly any protection from the North Sea. There is quite a short distance from the shore till you are out in open sea among bountiful fishing places. Maybe you would rather try your fishing luck with both feet firmly placed on land? Then you may choose between salmon fishing in our river Sokna or trout fishing in one of our many lakes. Or maybe you prefer diving along our coast?
Sokndal is the first member from Scandinavia in the international organization Cittaslow - good life in small towns. The main goal is to improve the quality of life and create a feeling of identity to the area.

Stavanger, Rogaland, Norway - Oil Capital of Norway
Stavanger is a city and municipality in Norway. The city is the third-largest urban zone and metropolitan area in Norway and the administrative centre of Rogaland county. The municipality is the fourth most populous in Norway. Located on the Stavanger Peninsula in Southwest Norway, Stavanger counts its official founding year as 1125, the year the Stavanger Cathedral was completed. Stavanger's core is to a large degree 18th- and 19th-century wooden houses that are protected and considered part of the city's cultural heritage. This has caused the town centre and inner city to retain a small-town character with an unusually high ratio of detached houses, and has contributed significantly to spreading the city's population growth to outlying parts of Greater Stavanger.
The city's rapid population growth in the late 20th century was primarily a result of Norway's booming offshore oil industry. Today the oil industry is a key industry in the Stavanger region and the city is widely referred to as the Oil Capital of Norway.[6][not in citation given] The largest company in the Nordic region, Norwegian energy company Statoil is headquartered in Stavanger. Multiple educational institutions for higher education are located in Stavanger. The largest of these is the University of Stavanger.
Domestic and international military installations are located in Stavanger, among these is the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation's Joint Warfare Center. Other international establishments, and especially local branches of foreign oil and gas companies, contribute further to a significant foreign population in the city. Immigrants make up 11.3% of Stavanger's population. Stavanger has since the early 2000s consistently had an unemployment rate significantly lower than the Norwegian and European average. In 2011, the unemployment rate was less than 2%. The city is also among those that frequent various lists of expensive cities in the world, and Stavanger has even been ranked as the world's most expensive city by certain indexes.
Stavanger is served by international airport Stavanger Airport, Sola, which offers flights to cities in most major European countries, as well as a limited number of intercontinental charter flights. The airport was named most punctual European regional airport by flightstats.com in 2010.
Every two years, Stavanger organizes the Offshore Northern Seas (ONS), which is the second largest exhibition and conference for the energy sector. Gladmat food festival is also held each year and is considered to be one of Scandinavia's leading food festivals. The city is also known for being one of the nation's premier culinary clusters.
