Franschhoek Wine Tram - Eikehof
This fourth generation family owned boutique winery, set amongst towering oak trees from which it get its name, has one of the oldest still producing vineyard blocks in South Africa – Semillon grapes planted in 1902. Eikehof benefits from a variety of soil types, ranging from rich alluvial soil on the banks of the Franschhoek River to sandy soil in the middle and Hutton on the slopes. Noble cultivars grown on Eikehof include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz.

Exploring Franschhoek: Cape Town Winelands in South Africa
Ever wanted to find out what it's like to explore Franschhoek- well keep watching to see what we got up to on our night away in the Cape Winelands.
Wine Tram in Franschhoek
As locals, it was lekker to experience the Wine Tram in Franschhoek on our 24 hours in Franschhoek. We visited Rickety Bridge, Moreson, Eikehof, Paserene and Le Lude the next day. We love Franschhoek, go there often and really enjoyed the wine tram, bus and tractor rides. The owls in the trees at Eikehof above us while we had our charcuterie board was amazing.
I'd highly recommend the Wine Tram - fun, friendly staff and safe.

Franschhoek South Africa
The village of Franschhoek (French Corner), tucked into the Cape Winelands of South Africa, is known as the country's food and wine capital. Galleries and antique shops fill the tree-lined streets, and vineyards established more than 300 years ago cascade over the hills just outside town.

Franschhoek Wine Tram - La Bourgogne
Located on a tributary of the Berg River, the farm is a subdivision of the original Bourgogne farm which was among the first Huguenot farms when it was granted to Pierre de Villiers by Simon van der Stel, the first governor of the Cape Colony, in 1694. Shaded by 150 year old oaks, the farm house at La Bourgogne has a warmth and charm which captivates all who visit. Today, La Bourgogne Farm produces quality wines and olive oils.
