Ek'Balam is a mayan site near Valladolid in Mexico. Quite small compared to others mayan ruins in the country, this one worth a visit, not crowded and very quiet, it can be a great excursion from the city.

My first flight and video using the Mavic drone. During a visit to Valladolid and Ek Balam Mayan ruins, in Yucatan (Mexico).
FIRST ONES at EK BALAM: Better than CHICHEN ITZA?!
Instead of visiting crowded Chichen Itza, we venture out to Ek Balam near the city of Valladolid, Mexico. We got up early in the morning and took a 'collectivo' to the ruins and were the VERY FIRST ONES there!!! We had the whole place to ourselves and got to refresh in our very own private cenote nearby. If you're looking for less crowded things to do in Valladolid, we'd recommend going to Ek Balam nice and early because it's an easy trip that you can do without a tour.

Ek Balam is an ancient archaeological Mayan ruin site located approximately 18mi from Valladolid, Mexico and 32 miles from Chichen Itza. These are some of the lesser known Mayan ruins in the area. Generally speaking, most tourists and travelers visit the ever popular ruins known as Chichen Itza.
If you're looking to avoid lines of tourists and capture photos of the ruins without people stepping in your way, a visit to Ek Balam is a must.
P.S. - Excuse some of the video quality. I've been having issues with my video editing program. Future videos will be much higher quality.

Ek Balam was our first look at Mayan ruins and wow - what a day! Finished off with a very refreshing dip in Cenote X'Canche it was well worth the excursion from town. I recommend getting a tour though as we really didn't know what we were looking at, a guide would have definitely been beneficial.

¡Hola una vez más! Después de mucho tiempo ausente con ustedes. regresó con un vídeo de uno de los lugares que más me gusta de Yucatán: ¡Valladolid Pueblo Mágico!
Me tomé un fin de semana completo para recorrer algunos de los atractivos cercanos a este maravilloso lugar así como ¿cuánto cuesta visitarlos o hacerlos? La verdad es que extrañaba hacer este tipo de vídeos y prometo que ya serán más seguidos.

Day 3 Mexico Cenote Swiming and Ek Balam
Ek Balam and the Cenote Swimming was too big to put in 1 video so I decided to break it up into 2 separate videos. This Cenote just not far away from ek balam was insane. I've swam in a few but this one was by far my favourite out of all of them. You can repel down the ropes,swim, there is walking ropes you can go on. The water is actually cool and not as warm as you would think.

paseito increible, visitamos dos lugares, primero EKBALAM, un conjunto de ruinas y Piramides Mayas realmente sorprendentes, enormes y muy bien conservadas,....luego nos fuimos a Valladolid, una pequeña ciudad al interior de Quintana Roo, que me dejo realmente atrapado, cada rincon que conoci de la ciudad, tenia algo especial....espero que les guste el video...Chabela :-)
