Visit Raseborg - archipelago atmosphere
Raseborg's archipelago with about 1,300 islands is among the most beautiful in Finland. It offers a range of experiences, from the islands, sounds and bays of the inner archipelago to the open horizon of the outer belt. During cold winters the archipelago turns into a wonderland of snow and ice – perfect for long-distance skating, skiing on ice or a photo safari in the sparkling landscape.
The summer archipelago offers the world's best natural meditation. Relax on a sun-warmed rock and enjoy the shimmering sea and warm sea breezes. Listen to the gulls and terns, while sailing boats glide by. If you prefer more active pursuits you can sail, kayak, fish, swim or dive.
For the full archipelago experience you can rent a summer cottage for a week or two. Shop for food and refuel in a genuine archipelago shop and soak up the sunsets on restaurant terraces. Enjoy the midsummer festivities and the crowds of summer markets in Bromarv, Sandnäsudd or Sommaröstrand.

Visit versatile Raseborg - just an hour from Helsinki and Turku
Visit Raseborg – versatile, beautiful and closer than you think
Only about an hour away from the Finnish cities, Helsinki and Turku, you'll find Raseborg. Close, but yet so different. A mixture of spectacular nature and archipelago, historical ironworks and castles, and last but not least, a tempting variety of culture, design and artesan food.
Raseborg is located on the main axis of Finland's history and culture. There are six stars in Raseborg:
the unique nature and the majestic archipelago with its National Park
Fiskars and Billnäs, the historical, but modern villages
Ekenäs, the picturesque town by the sea.
Raseborg Castle Ruins in Snappertuna village
Svartå Manor, the beautifully restored wooden mansion.

Good to know: due to Finland’s history, Raseborg is a bilingual town where most places have two names: one in Finnish and another in Swedish. Therefore Raseborg is the Swedish name, Raasepori the Finnish one.

Jussarö - ghost mining city in the archipelago
The archipelago sea contains a number of exciting stories. One of the most interesting ones are about the island of Jussarö, on the Finnish south coast about half-way between Helsinki and Hanko (Hangö).
Jussarö has been a known landmark and harbor since the middle ages, but the most interesting part of Jussarö's history started in the 19th century. Close to Jussarö there is a serious compass anomaly which is due to a large iron ore. To excavate this iron, a mine was opened in the early 19th century. The quality of the ore was not very good, so in the mid 19th century the mine was closed for about 100 years. The part of the mining history that is now evident on the island started in 1954, when the mine was reopened and a complete mining community with high-rise buildings and processing facilities was built on the island. Volume operation started in the 60's and at the peak time, some 200 miners were working to excavate the ore some 150 meters below the sea.
This time mining only lasted for a few years and in 1967 the mine was again closed, it was simply to expensive to operate. The buildings were left on the island and are still there as the biggest ghost town in archipelago.
After the mining era, the island has been used by the military and been closed of for boaters, but lately the island has been slowly turned into an interesting boating destination. Today there is a marina on the north shore of the island and facilities such as a cafe and a sauna/service building for boaters. You are free to walk around the islands, but should stay away from the building, they are not safe to enter.
The video takes you on a tour of the island from the north marina to the south harbor (private). Enjoy!

Torhola cave
This cave comprises 100m of cave passage in three levels and three usable exits. It spans an area about 31m long and 8m wide. A conjectured exit is blocked by sand and dirt while another exit impossibly small leads out and is blocked by a lone stone. A tight tunnel leads to the netherworld yet to be discovered.

Jussarö Island Jussarön Saari
I used the old Gopro Hero with water case, so the sound is bad.
It has no image stabilizer as you can see... :)
Because of the powerful radar stations, you can't fly a drone, the risk is too high :)
Jussarö is an island in Ekenäs, Raseborg, Finland. Jussarö is known by the Jussarö lighthouse. There is also an old iron ore mine, but it was closed in 1967.
The iron ore occurrence is the biggest undersea level in Finland.
In Jussarö some abandoned buildings still remain; which were used by the military until 2005 for urban war simulations.
Jussarö is known as the only ghost town in Finland. Part of the island is open to visitors.
Prisoners worked in Jussarö mines in the 19th century. The island also had its own parish.
Kamerana oli vanhempi Gopro Hero vesikotelon kanssa, joten ääni on olematon.
Dronea ei uskaltanut edes kokeilla voimakkaiden tutka-asemien vuoksi.
Jussarö on ulkosaariryhmä Raaseporissa entisen Tammisaaren kaupungin alueella.
Saarella sijaitsi aikaisemmin Jussarön kaivos, josta louhittiin rautamalmia.
Toiminta lopetettiin kuitenkin kannattamattomana vuonna 1967.
