The BIGGEST Market in South America I La Paz El Alto Bolivia
We visited the biggest market in South America in La Paz, El Alto Bolivia. It was pretty overwhelming to see this market because of its size. The market is located in the most dangerous part of La Paz, El Alto. Unfortunately, we didn't feel any danger at all so please don't believe media what they say and go find it by yourself.
La Paz has one of the best transportation that we have ever seen. El teleferico aka cable cars will bring you everywhere in the city and it's pretty awesome to see La Paz Bolivia from above.
We hope you enjoyed our La Paz Travel video and stay tuned for the next one. Finally gonna show you some Bolivian food.

Bolivia Travel Guide - La Paz and El Alto
La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, is a city I’ve always wanted to visit. Surrounded by mountains, 3-4,000 meters above sea level, populated mostly by colourful indigenous peoples and framed by a crazy cityscape that tumbles into a valley of skyscrapers, La Paz has always held a certain mystique.
For the next few days we got to explore. We checked out a tooth festival, rode the cable cars, visited a massive market, I got attacked by a woman with a stick and we nearly got struck down by some sort of Ninja. As we are to find out, In La Paz anything can happen.

Parade in El Alto, Bolivia
A clip from a parade we stumbled onto last year during my trip to Bolivia through college. This was in El Alto, near the capital city, La Paz.
CHOLITA WRESTLING?! La Paz, Bolivia
Cholitas are the cute little local ladies in La Paz, Bolivia who wear round hats and big poofy skirts. You normally see them selling produce at the local market, but we got to see a whole new side of them at a Cholita Wrestling Match. They fight each other WWE style, and it is very entertaining!

BOLIVIA: STOLEN VEHICLES SOLD AT EL ALTO CAR MARKET
Spanish/Nat
Twice a week, the El Alto market near Bolivia's capital La Paz plays host to a lucrative secondhand car sale.
The cars, known as transformers, were stolen in other South American countries and smuggled into Bolivia for sale.
The government has promised to stop the market which generate at least two and a half (m) million U-S dollars annually.
For ten years, El Alto market has been the first stop off point for Bolivians looking to buy a new car.
The origin of the cars is common knowledge, but people turn a blind eye when they see the prices.
The so-called transformers are stolen cars - driven into Bolivia mostly from Argentina, Peru, Brazil and Paraguay.
It is estimated that every day, 40 cars enter Bolivia illegally.
Things are made very easy for the car thieves.
Vehicles can be registered legally without having to prove where they come from.
But now the Bolivian government is planning to stop this business which last year generated over two and a half (m) million U-S dollars.
However, car dealers have suggested that the government may find it difficult to replace the dirty money flowing back in to the economy from this illegal trade.
Some estimate the market's revenue is far higher than the official government figure.
SOUNDBITE: (Spanish)
I do not think the government have enough money to stop people from doing this and to pay all the workers, because every year according to statistics they generate three and a half (m) million U-S dollars. Where are they going to get that money from? We pay our tax, but many people avoid it, but then the government has inefficient people
SUPER CAPTION: Car dealer
Once the cars arrive they are re-sprayed and modified before being sold without documentation.
The money is then pocketed and no tax is paid.
SOUNDBITE:(Spanish)
Here they sell it (car) without papers cheaper than the real cost.
Q: Do you have to pay bribes?
A: We have to pay when they find us.
SUPER CAPTION: Car dealer
Salesmen accept bribes of up to a thousand dollars per car.
Bolivia is considered the poorest country in Latin America, so the government may well find it very difficult to stop the illegal trade.
