Come join us for a cooking class in Karakol, Kyrgyzstan to learn how make Uyghur food in the house of a local Uyghur family making Lagman (лагман) from scratch. Now that we've visited Kyrgyzstan twice Laghman (лагман) has become one of our favorite foods. You can have it in soup or fried form and it tastes delicious either way. Although we didn't actually do that much to help prepare it (we only helped stretch and form the noodles a bit) it gave us a great appreciation of the dish learning more about it. If you'd like to experience this yourself you can book it with Destination Karakol office for roughly USD$15 per person.

Uyghur Food Cooking Class making Lagman in Karakol, Kyrgyzstan travel food video transcript:
Alright guys, so good afternoon from Karakol. Today we have signed up to take a cooking class and we're going to be making Lagman (лагман) with an Uyghur family.
And Laghman (лагман) is a dish that we've been eating a lot since we arrived in Kyrgyzstan. It is one of our favorites. It is delicious, it is noodle-y, it is soupy. So let's go in and see how it is done.
There are many types of Lagman (لەغمەن). So there are with fried Laghman (宋氏养生部). There is one type with um classic which is like the sauce is served separate from the noodle. So there is a type where like it is not liquid but with some sauce. Together mixed and also there are some different ingredients of the Lagman (宋氏养生部) so the noodles are the same but the sauces could be vary.
Okay, so we're going to try making the noodles now. We need to stretch it out. And this is basically water, egg and flour. And I'm not quite as graceful as our instructor here. Are you sure about that?
Okay, so the Laghman (лагман) is here. It has been served. So check it out. We saw a bit of the preparation in the kitchen and we learned that basically they fry the ingredients, the meat and vegetables and then they add in the broth and turn it into a soup so that it is more flavorful.
So yeah, let's dig right in. I'm going to try and find some noodles.
This is our first time to have it homemade. We've only had this in restaurants so exciting times.
Noodles are big. Look at how thick that is.
Look at how long they are. Haha.
Man, this is going to be messy. It looks awesome.

It is quite nice. So what do you think?
Well, I love the noodles. I mean I was eating them plain. So I like them better with the sauce. Plain. I know, I had half of the thing by myself. So is it savory and spicy? Yeah, it is really good but you know what? I think I'm going to add even more spice and see what that is like.
Alright, so I like my spice so first we're going to add a little bit of vinegar for extra flavor. Give it a little bit of a kick. And this. I don't know how spicy this is. Like one little spoonful? Maybe?
Very hot.
And you just put an enormous amount on top. Let's see.
Hahaha. It was really spicy.
It was pretty spicy. Let's see. Alright. Alright time to actually try it with the extra enhancements. Enhancements.
Better?
I like the vinegar. It makes it a little more sour.
So to wrap things up that was an awesome home cooked meal. It was cool to help with a little bit of the preparation. The noodles. We really didn't do too much and yeah this is a dish that is very common here in Kyrgyzstan so if you're visiting definitely have a Lagman (лағмон) and if you have a chance to prepare and cook it yourself then definitely we would recommend that as well.

One of the most prominent Color Revolution experts in America's coup d'état toolkit has been hurriedly recalled from retirement for immediate deployment to Kyrgyzstan. Richard Miles, the engineer of the first Color Revolution in Serbia and the Rose Revolution in Georgia, has been appointed as charge d'affaires in Kyrgyzstan until a new ambassador is confirmed by the Senate, because the former one, Pamela Spratlen, has been reassigned as the US Ambassador to Uzbekistan. While it is not known how long Miles will remain in Kyrgyzstan, which will be the Eurasian Union's weakest economy when it joins in May of this year, ordinary citizens there already suspect that foul play is being planned against their country and have protested his arrival. Given that Miles' track record of regime change makes him worthy of the 'Male Nuland' moniker, it's appropriate to investigate what tricks the US may be up to in Central Asia, and how it may be trying to force the Ukrainian scenario onto Russia's southern doorstep.

Peruvian Food at Charango Grill and Bar Restaurant in Cape Town, South Africa Travel Food Video Transcript:
Well good evening from Cape Town once again! So today we are going out for Peruvian food.
So you know one of the most frequently asked questions in our Peru videos is when are you coming back to Peru? And the question is we don't know. Likely next year for my Grandma's birthday.
Um, but we haven't booked tickets yet so we figured. That is her 90th right?
It is her 90th. Yeah, so that is a big date. It would be in April. That is a big date!
But in the meantime we figured why not go out for a Peruvian food here in South Africa and see if it varies. Maybe they have a different influence, different ingredients. So we're going to test that out.
Today we're eating at Charango. And the thing I want to add is Cape Town has a wonderful International food scene. Yes. It is like melting pot of cuisines. So to go out and have Peruvian food in Cape Town is should be tasty.
And the drinks are here. Oh my gosh, when I saw they had Pisco Sour on the menu I was like this has already made the meal. I'm been craving this for months.
And so if you haven't had a Pisco Sour before it basically the alcohol is from a Peruvian grape brandy which is the Pisco. And it comes from the town of Pisco. There is a town of Pisco in Peru. We've drove past it. And then you've got your egg whites and you also have drops of bitter. Bitter as well. And it is made also mixed with lime juice so let's try that.
That is awesome. Very good, very authentic.
And? Oh, so Sam went for the Pisco Sour and I got the Chilcano and basically this has Pisco, Ginger Ale, Lime Juice.
So we have placed our order. Yes, so we've ordered basically two dishes. So the first one being Charango House Ceviche. Of course. Which is down here. We had to go with ceviche at a Peruvian restaurant. Yeah, of course.
And then the other one we're getting is the Nikkei Tuna Tiradito.
We went for the main and we ordered Pollo a la brasa. And already these look like prime cuts of meat. Like this is chicken breasts and really really nice meat.
And it is a big portion so I'm glad we're sharing this. We didn't even order a side with it because we've already had entrees plus we have dessert coming.
And dessert is here. Alright so we ordered two desserts.
We got Picarones which is a classic. And we also got dessert tacos.
It is price point time.
So that was 560 Rand. Yep. Splurge alert.
We definitely splurged in Cape Town. That was $41 US dollar meal. But that included everything. That included the two drinks, the two appetizers, the main which we shared and two desserts. That is not bad.
Yeah, that is not bad considering I mean this is a bit of a fancier restaurant for sure. It is definitely more of an upscale kind of contemporary restaurant here in Cape Town but but it was very good. We had a craving for Peruvian food. We tickled our fancy. Haha.

Hire a Classic old Cadillac in Vegas Louis-Joseph Chevrolet was born on December twenty-five, 1878, Canton of Jura, Switzerland.
He shortly grew up to become a racing driver and a founder of the one of the best of the classic Yankee autos, Chevrolet Motor Vehicle Company. As a young man, he developed his mechanical abilities and interest in auto racing in Beaune, France. Here, he worked for the Roblin mechanics shop from 1895 to 1899.
He shortly migrated to Montreal, Quebec in Canada in 1900 and then continued on to NY City where he was employed by FIAT. He used to be a mechanical genius who had small formal education. In 1909, he learned vehicle design and began planning his very own engine for a new automobile. The engine was an overhead valve 6 that he built in his very own machine go shopping at Grand Brook Boulevard, Detroit. Straight after, he partnered with William Durant to start his company. In 1915 due to differences on design Chevrolet sold his share in the company to Durant. The following year, the company folded and became Durant's General Motors. At this time,
Chevrolet shifted his interest to the sports vehicle industry where he created a state of the art race automobile. It was called the Cornelian and it finished twentieth in the 1915 Indy 500. In 1916, Louis partnered with his younger bro Gaston and began the Frontenac Motor Concern where they designed and produced another line of racing automobiles. Their most famed product was the Fronty-Ford racers.Luxury Automobile Rentals Louis Chevrolet died on June six, 1941 Detroit, Michigan. He nearly died poverty stricken and his remains are buried in the Holy Cross and Saint Joseph Graveyard in Indianapolis, Indiana.
