Lanzarote drone (/ˌlænzəˈrɒti/; Spanish pronunciation: [lanθaˈɾote, lansaˈɾote]), a Spanish island, is the easternmost of the autonomous
Canary Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 125 km (78 mi) off the coast of Africa and 1,000 km (621 mi) from the Iberian Peninsula. Covering 845.94 square kilometers (327 sq mi), it is the fourth largest of the islands in the archipelago. With 141,938 inhabitants, Lanzarote is the third most populous island of the Canary Islands, after Tenerife and Gran Canaria. In the center-west of the island is the Timanfaya National Park, which is one of the main attractions of Lanzarote. Its capital is Arrecife.
The first recorded name for the island, given by Angelino Dulcert, was Insula de Lanzarotus Marocelus, after the Genovese navigator Lancelotto Malocello, from which the modern name is derived. The island's name in the native language was Tyterogaka or Tytheroygaka, which may mean one that is all ochre (referring to the island's predominant colour).

Lanzarote: Lago Verde - El Golfo (the green lake)
Lago Verde is a green lagoon on the crater wall of what's left of volcano El Golfo near the town of El Golfo. I went there in November 2014. When you are going to Timfaya N.P., don't forget to drive to El Golfo, it's not far away from Timfaya N.P.

the Canary Islands, are a Spanish archipelago located just off the northwest coast of mainland Africa, 100 kilometres (62 miles) west of the border between Morocco and the Western Sahara. The Canaries are one of Spain's 17 autonomous communities and are among the outermost region of the European Union proper. The islands include (from largest to smallest): Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, La Graciosa, Alegranza, Isla de Lobos, Montaña Clara, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste.
The archipelago's beaches, climate and important natural attractions, especially Maspalomas in Gran Canaria and Teide National Park and Mount Teide in Tenerife (the third tallest volcano in the world measured from its base on the ocean floor), make it a major tourist destination with over 12 million visitors per year, especially Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.[7][8] The islands have a subtropical climate, with long warm summers and moderately warm winters.[9] Due to their location above the temperature inversion layer, the high mountains of these islands are ideal for astronomical observation. For this reason, two professional observatories, Teide Observatory on the island of Tenerife and Roque de los Muchachos Observatory on the island of La Palma, have been built on the islands.

[4K] Lanzarote Beaches (2019) El Golfo Lanzarote. Green Lagoon Winter Walking Tour
If you're wondering what to see in El Golfo Lanzarote in one day, join us on this virtual walking tour (with natural sight and sound). El Golfo, with its Green Lagoon and town full of restaurants and bars is one of the most beautiful tourist sites on this island in the Canaries. We take the walk from the centre to the colourful volcano and bright green lake (also known as the green lagoon, or El Lago Verde.)
El Golfo is a small town on the western side of Lanzarote, and is right on the edge of the
Timanfaya National Park (Parque Nacional de Timanfaya.) It's an easy day trip from Playa Blanca, and is a beautiful place to have lunch with the rolling ocean by your side. There is plenty of free parking at both ends of the town. The car park at the far end of town is just at the start of a coastal hiking area (Wanderweg El Golfo.)
Starting on Av. Marítima by the cacti garden, with the sounds of the wide North Atlantic waves rolling onto the beach, we explore the town of El Golfo.
There are a number of well known restaurants along the main strip / seafront: Lago Verde, La Gamba Loca, Casa Torano, Restaurante Bogavante and Restaurant Costa Azul. Further back you'll find the hotel, El Hotelito del Golfo, and more restaurants: Casa Rafa Restaurante De Mar, Restaurante La Lapa and Restaurante El Golfo right by the main car park and path to the green lagoon (El Lago Verde.)

LANZAROTE: El Golfo il lago Verde. 2015

Green lagoon, El Golfo, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain, Africa
This lagoon is in a semi-circular volcanic crater left by an extinct volcano. The rest of the crater has been eroded away by the sea. The green colour of the water is caused by micro-organisms growing in it. South of the former fishing village of El Golfo is one of the major attractions of the island of Lanzarote. It is partially submerged in the sea mouth of the volcano Montaña de Golfo, where has formed a lagoon, which is about 50 meters from the coast. The distinctive green color of the lagoon caused by unicellular algae, which have adapted to the high salinity of the lake. By subterranean connections to the sea after flowing seawater in the lagoon and provides a continuous compensation. The balance of nature is disturbed for several years for unknown reasons. The now cordoned-green lagoon evaporates more and more and now has only a fraction of their original size. The name of the crater lake, Charco de los Clicos comes from a kind of edible shellfish, the Clicos that occurred earlier heaped on this site. The volcano is a rare example of Hydrovulkanismus that occurs mostly on the coast. Mating of magma and water by a phreatomagmatic explosion a tuff ring formed as can be seen here. Very easy to see the crater of the village located on the south side of the viewing platform. The open semicircle of the same time forms a crater open to the sea bay with lava sand where you find olivine, a mineral derived from the mantle, from the semi-precious stones are also produced.

A short distance along the southwest coastline from the exciting Los Hervideros is another natural example of the power of Mother Nature. El Golfo is a half-submerged cone of a volcano, which over time has been eroded by the sea, leaving behind only the striated wall of the crater displaying a myriad of red and russet colours. At the foot of the crater wall is Lago Verde, a half-moon-shaped striking green lagoon filled with volcanic minerals and micro-organisms that are believed to be unique in this lake.
A beach of black volcanic pebbles, where you can look for specimens of the semi-precious olivine, superficially separates the sharply contrasting lagoon from the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, but in reality they are connected through underground passageways. Coming from the south, the road leads you to a small car park, from where you can approach El Golfo by foot, following signs for a short walk around the headland.
A number of sheltered bays with black beaches link the lagoon with the tranquil El Golfo village, which attracts geologists and jewellery makers because of the olivine found in this area. In addition, this small and peaceful community boasts several excellent seafood restaurants – great places to enjoy a tasty meal while enjoying a beautiful sunset and magnificent views.
