Eldon House is the oldest (known) house in the city of London, Ontario. Built in 1834 (or maybe even earlier), it was donated to the city of London in the early 1960s, and is today one of the most interesting museums in the area .

Eldon House - London, Ontario - Circa 1960
This is an old black & white film, no sound, taken around the time Eldon House was opened to the public, circa 1960 to 61. At the 5 minute mark, there is a brief clip of the unveiling of the Historic Plaque that still stands in front of Eldon House.
The film itself is a series of clips taken at different times of the year. One clip shows the magnolia tree out front in full bloom of flowers, which would be early May, while another clip shows snow on the ground, people in winter coats, and no leaves on the trees.
Would love to hear from anyone who has more information about this clip.
Thank you for looking.

Lost Souls: The Eldon House Haunting of 1841
Eldon House is one of London's oldest residentail homes, open to the public to display its authentic period detail. There was a haunting there, a story of love cut short. Phoebe Campbell (actress Christa Hunt) and Tom Coyle (actor Tyson Bree)leave us in the hands of ghostly storyteller, Sarah Harris (actress Karen Winfield),who relates the story of her lost love, the soldier boy, (actor Adam Holowitz). Again, I apologize for the quality of the video, but there were barely any lights on, great for the spooky ambience , but tough on the youtube viewer. So sit back and listen during the dark parts!

Stars of the Town - Alvinston, Ontario, Canada - 1949 Film Footage
The footage is called “Stars of the Town” and depicts everyday life in Ontario as local residents stroll the main streets and pop into local shops. The footage was shot in February 1949 by a man named LeRoy (Roy) Harold Massecar. When he was not busy in his fulltime work as a reverend, Massecar travelled across Ontario and filmed the activities in small towns between 1947 and 1949. He would show the video footage in town halls and community centres, charging a small admission for local residents to watch themselves on the silver screen.
Roy used silent, black and white 8mm film to capture approximately 100 Ontario locations. For more information on Roy’s work and for a list of all the locations that he captured on film, visit the Western Archives webpage on the “Stars of the Town” at
His footage was recorded in Alvinston in February 1949 and screened on March 4, 1949. Two shows ran at 7:30pm and 9:30pm and admission was forty-five cents or twenty-five cents. The Alvinston Free Press reported on the front page of the March 9 issue that the screenings were a success: “To say the least, they were a scream – one long one – each time someone did something ‘funny,’ none of which were posed for. Just the ordinary passing parade of life in a small town like Alvinston.”
Multiple public showings have been held in Lambton County to share this footage with the community. Members of the public were invited to call out names of individuals that they recognized from the footage. It was amazing to hear how many people were recognized, and how many members of the public saw friends and family in the video (some even spotted themselves!) These names have been recorded can be downloaded at . Send us an email at archives@county-lambton.on.ca if you recognize anyone in the video and want them added to the list!
Purchase your own copy of this video footage at the Lambton County Archives (787 Broadway Street, Wyoming, Canada) or the Alvinston Library (3251 River Street, Alvinston, Canada) for $20+HST. Call 519-845-5426 for more information.
Eldon House - London, ON - 12 March 2015 - Blade 350QX3
Eldon House, London, Ontario, Canada
Taken 12th March 2015, around 4:00p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, with a Blade 350QX3 quadcopter and a GoPro Hero 4 camera
The Thames River, snow covered Harris Park, and the Labatt Park can be seen.
The music choice here is in response to those of you who believe Eldon House deserves a good chamber piece of classical music.
At the end of this video, a sudden gust of wind came up and flipped my drone upside down. The only times this happens to me is at Eldon House. There are many who claim Eldon House is haunted by not one but several spirits. if this be true, then I suspect the ghost of Milly Harris, who was in her own right a ground breaking female photographer in the years before World War One, is the one responsible. Perhaps she has not taken to the new technology, or maybe she is just letting me know who is still boss there.
:)
Please consider visiting Eldon House in person or online at eldonhouse.ca someday. Thank you for taking time to look.
Haunted Ontario Hotel
Haunted Ontario Hotel
A blazing inferno and numerous unknown deaths of travelers spending there last night at this very Haunted Ontario Hotel , We made our way down and got permission to explore each floor and also check its most popular paranormal hot spots . The pool where a girl drowned and relives her feat continuously . An Eerie kitchen that is suspicious of activity and the floor in which the fire broke out on. You won't wanna miss our next adventure with my partner Steven Skinner the Haunted HeLL Hotel . The hotel is about 30 years old, there have also been overdoses and possible suicides as the hotel has a creepy past . Those who got out never came back . But those who were only curious , just might have left peeing there pants or hearing the screams of something supernatural itself.
Music by Darren Kurtis and Kevin Macleod

Ghosts of London's Past
Footage of London, Ontario, taken by my wife's grandfather in the 1940s (1943-1947). These include footage of the University of Western Ontario, New St. James Presbyterian, a wedding nearby, the countryside, servicemen at UWO. Some footage was taken in the Lake Simcoe region.
Earlier researchers of the Eldon House Ghost Story
A funny thing happened on the way to discovery: we found out that others had been there before! To our credit, most of the research previously done by other historians was found after we had completed the bulk of the research in area library stacks & microfilm archives. Bill Hitchins and Dan Brock are two notable earlier researchers who collected an incredible amount of data, given it was done when digital research technology was still in its infancy & the internet was not yet public.
