Visit Elephant Breeding Centra. I went here as part of a tour, and after a fantastic early morning canoe ride. The elephants are chained, you can see young elephants being ‘trained’ with chains and metal rods, many elephants were rocking in their feet. Don’t support this . The only positive things I can say is that part of the elephants’ work is patrolling the park and poaching has been almost eliminated by the efforts of the park rangers.

We are thankful for all those people who were involved for the safe birthing. Both mother and the male calf are very healthy and walk through the garden to go to the river for daily bath.

Wild elephant named ronaldo mostly came to elephant breeding farm for mating with female elephant in breeding farm. In the elephant breeding farm female elephant gives birth in 18 to 24 months from mating time. This breeding centre has got twice elephant babies named ram and laxuman.

We were able to see elephant from all the age from 2 month old to mature adult. It is sad to see they are chained but it is also helping to increase their number. All the adult are female because its difficult to control adult male. Wild male from chitwan national park frequent here during mating season.

Of all the animals, elephant probably are the most graceful. On your visit to the hattisar (Elephant Breeding Center) you will demonstrate how elephants meals are prepared and how they eat, and you will get various information on the nature and habits of elephants. The unique center was established in 1985 for the captive breeding of domesticated elephant trapping for domestication.
Located in Sauraha the Elephant breeding center was set up to protect the endangered elephants in the region. There are often many baby elephants there and a small museum. The center is walkable from Sauraha but it will take 1 hour depending on the heat and road conditions. Tours or rickshaw transport are available part of the way.
Entrance prices are 100 rupees for a foreigner (westerner), 50 SAARC, 25 Nepalese. Opening hours are 6am to 6pm though generally it starts to close around 5pm.
