ELEPHANT NATURE PARK, CHIANG MAI | THAILAND VLOG #11
We spent the day at Elephant Nature Park, a sanctuary that rescues elephants from tourism and logging. It's also home to rescued dogs, cats, water buffalo. You get to meet some of the tame elephants, you can feed them and bathe them. This is our second time at the sanctuary and it's great to see how well these poor elephants are now doing.
Remember, please do not ride elephants, it hurts them, and the practice encourages massive amounts of cruelty to the animal.

Elephant Nature Park Chiang Mai Thailand - Single Day Visit | Travel Vlog Ep. 27
WARNING: You may purchase a ticket to Thailand after watching this video!
Thailand is full of amazing things to do, but one adventure that is a necessity for all travelers is to spend a day with some elephants.
We decided to check out Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand. There are A LOT of so called elephant sanctuaries in Thailand, so you need to be careful about which one you chose to go to. If you're not familiar with elephant sanctuaries, please do some research before going. There are many places in Asia that abuse animals, like elephants and tigers, to make money from tourists.
Even though some claim to be ethical, a lot of them really aren't. DO NOT go to any that allow you to ride elephants. Those tend to be the most mistreated and abused. They tie them up in chains, they don't feed them enough or properly, and they use sharp hooks to control them and make them do what they want.
Elephant Nature Park is one of the good ones. In fact, they rescue Elephants from other abused parks and rehabilitate them. They do not breed elephants, they only rescue them. Their main park (which we did not go to) has around 70 elephants. The park you see in this video was actually one that they took over and rescued these three elephants that were previously mistreated for tourism purposes.
I hope you enjoy this video, but most importantly I hope you do some research about ethical elephant treatment before visiting an elephant sanctuary.

Elephant Nature Park // Chiang Mai, Thailand // Travel Vlog
The Elephant Nature Park near Chiang Mai is an amazing sanctuary for elephants in Thailand. One of the most ethical places in Southeast Asia to see elephants, the park's primary focus is keep the elephants safe and healthy. These incredible creatures are a vital part of Thailand's history, ecosystem, and culture. I'm so pleased I had this experience!

This has got to be one of the most INCREDIBLE experiences I've had in my entire life. Being so close to such graceful creatures makes you really value the efforts that go into caring for them. Meet the Founder of Elephant Nature Park, Chiang Mai - Wayfairer Travel
Situated in Thailand's northern capital, Chiang Mai, Elephant Nature Park (ENP) is one of the few ethical elephant sanctuaries in the region. Since opening the sanctuary in 1996, Lek Chailert has rescued over 200 elephants, nurturing them through ethical practices and conservation. The Wayfairer team ventured out to Elephant Nature Park to learn more and meet Lek, the inspiring woman behind it all.

Elephant Nature Park New Location in Chiang Mai - Best Sanctuary Yet
Hello travelers!
In this video, we are at a new project and location by the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai. It's called Sunshine for Elephants and it is a 'saddle off' type of sanctuary with only 4 elephants.
For $75, this elephant sanctuary in Thailand will pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai, drive you into the mountains, let you feed, walk with, and wash the elephants, and then take you home. They'll give you lunch as well.
We think this is the best elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai by far, and recommend it 100%. There's nothing more exciting than feeding elephants, walking with elephants, and washing elephants.

Elephant Nature Park | Chiang Mai | Capítulo #8 | Tailandia | David Davis
A Day At The Elephant Nature Park | Chiang Mai, Thailand
The Elephant Nature Park was an amazing experience. They picked us up and droped us off at our Airbnb and a vegetarian lunch was provided. Our guide was very knowledgable and explained where these elephants came from, how they got here and how this facility cares for them. Admission goes towards facilitating care and rescuing elephants. Definitely recommend doing this.

If you didn't know already, this trip to Thailand is for an upcoming project by the name of Black Tusk. Black Tusk is going to be a short documentary (25-30 minutes) and it will showcase the abuse elephants in SE Asia face due to the tourism industry and it will promote socially responsible alternatives to Elephant trekking such as Elephant sanctuaries. The idea is, tourists need to co-exist with these beautiful animals instead of exploiting them and we need your help to share this message.
