This is the day that I had been dreaming about for months! We finally got to go to an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai and it blew me away. We got lucky and made it to the BEST ethical Elephant sanctuary in both Thailand and Chiang Mai. We spent the whole day feeding, walking, bathing, and most importantly loving on these elephants which is so different from their past lives in elephant camps. The elephants at Elephant rescue park are loved, free, and treated with respect. What I loved most about this elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai was the love they shared with their elephants. It was so sweet to watch!
It's crazy how an animal so big cares about connecting.
What was interesting about the Elephant Rescue Park in Chiang Mai was that they took the time to not only teach you about elephants in general, they teach you about what their elephants went through and what they had to do to save them. The stories were heartbreaking and warming at the same time. What these elephants experienced was horrible but what these humans did to save them and provide them a loving, normal life.....it leaves me speechless. We did a lot of research before choosing a park because it is extremely important to us that they genuinely care about the elephants and foster them living a normal elephant life.
So if you're looking for the best ethical elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Elephant Rescue Park is your best choice!
As always thank you so much for watching!

About Us!
If you had told me a year ago that we were going to sell all of our stuff to start backpacking the world, I would have called you a liar. Decisions like the one we made start with an inflection point. A point where you realize that life can never be the same anymore. After a challenging, and painful year in 2017, we decided we needed to go out and live the life we wanted to live, instead of watching it on someone else’s YouTube Channel. We had given everything we had, physically and emotionally, for other’s dreams and were ready to work that hard for ourselves. From rock bottom, Chase for Adventure was born.
The Chase Begins
We moved in with our parents, sold everything we own including our cars, and paid off $70,000 worth of debt. We worked 70hrs/week over the last year trying to save up $15,000 to make our dreams come true. Now, we are travel journalists who showcase the beauty in different cultures and inspire others to chase their dreams through our YouTube Channel and website Chase for Adventure. We want to show others that if they want something bad enough, they’ll figure out how to get it; show people who are struggling that they can make the light at the end of their tunnel. Chase for Adventure is more than just a travel vlog and blog; it’s the chronicles of what it’s like to have a dream and do whatever it takes to attain it.

Fun With Elephants - Elephant Rescue Park, Chiang Mai, Thailand
A great day spent at the Elephant Rescue Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This was one of our best days of travelling so far and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you love animals and want to spend the day at an ethical rescue centre aimed at educating tourists about the treatment of elephants and interacting with these wonderful animals, then look them up. We spent the whole day there learning about each elephant and it's background, collecting food & feeding them, taking them for their daily walk and then finally bathing them in the nearby lake.
If you go to Thailand, don't pay for Elephant rides. Do something more ethical with your money and visit a rescue park like this!
The elephants of Thailand have been traditionally used to help humans for many generations. Much of the traditional work that they have done throughout history, and continue to do is extremely hard labour, and requires them to live under tough conditions which are often cruel and unethical.
The Elephant Rescue Park was established to serve as a sanctuary for homeless and abused elephants, many of whom come from the bigger cities of Thailand, where they are exploited by humans and often forced to beg for money. The primary objective of the park is to provide a safe, loving and secure environment for these magnificent animals.
Meeting the rescued elephants in Chiang Mai - Thailand

This Woman Rescued 200 Elephants - Elephant Nature Park
This incredible woman has rescued 200 elephants over the past 20 years. She started her elephant rescue efforts when she was just a young server. Putting aside as much as possible to rescue and take care of her first elephant. Lek is also the founder of Elephant Nature Park and the Save Elephant Foundation.
ENP is an elephant rehabilitation center in Chiang Mai Thailand that takes in abused elephants and gives them a second chance at life. When you visit Thailand, make sure you are supporting the right businesses. Elephant Nature Park is definitely one of them.

If you didn't know already, this trip to Thailand is for an upcoming project by the name of Black Tusk. Black Tusk is going to be a short documentary (25-30 minutes) and it will showcase the abuse elephants in SE Asia face due to the tourism industry and it will promote socially responsible alternatives to Elephant trekking such as Elephant sanctuaries. The idea is, tourists need to co-exist with these beautiful animals instead of exploiting them and we need your help to share this message.

Elephant Rescue Park Chiang Mai [no riding]
What an awesome day! Elephant Rescue Park just opened this year and is a genuine sanctuary for elephants.
This family-run sanctuary currently has 1 mature female that is a veteran of the teak logging industry in Mae Hong Son. They also have 3 young elephants who have been rescued from circus/zoo environments.
Elephant Rescue Park responsibly limits the number of visitors, so if you would like to spend a day with the elephants, please book ahead at
THAILAND ELEPHANT SANCTUARY | Chiang Mai
The most ethical way to experience being around elephants is by visiting an elephant sanctuary that does not mistreat the elephants. Elephant Rescue Park in Chiang Mai Thailand is a NO-RIDE sanctuary that has rescued elephants from the logging industry, riding camps, and the circus. In this video, you'll get to see how I spent a day with Thailand's beloved national animal.

The tour we booked through Klook:
The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is a top attraction in Thailand and we now understand why. If you want to interact with elephants this is definitely the way to do it. We got to feed them, play with them and bathe them. We even got to play with a 1-month-old baby elephant. It was definitely one of our favorite experiences ever.
Thailand is famous for their elephant tourism so we did a ton of research before choosing this place. If you're going to interact with elephants don't do riding camps but go to an elephant sanctuary. The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary rescues elephants from riding camps, logging mills, and circuses. Not only was it tons of fun but it's a great organization to support. We booked our experience through Klook, a great app that we've been using for a lot of our southeast Asia trips.
