Hiking Elk Mountain Via Elk Thurston Trail, Chilliwack, BC, Canada
Elk Mountain has an easily accessible trailhead, alpine meadows and an excellent view of the entire Fraser Valley and surrounding mountains.
The trail begins and remains in the forest for the first hour, with a friendly uphill grade. After the hour mark, the climb will get steeper. You'll reach the first major lookout on Elk Mountain in approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Rest there and enjoy the view of the Fraser Valley, but don't quit yet! The real reward for all of your hard work is about another 10 minutes up the trail, where you'll see breathtaking views of Mount Slesse, Border Peaks, the Chilliwack River and surrounding mountains.

We conquered Elk Mountain on our second try! It was a 8.5 km hike through dense forest that took us up to 2700ft. What an amazing view!
The top of Elk Mountain is a spectacular view of Chilliwack, Cultus Lake, and the surrounding Fraser Valley area. The hike itself begins with a steady incline up the mountain through a beautifully forested area. The trail is wide and easy to navigate but the top section is very steep and the loose dirt is very slippery. Be very careful on this section of the trail. Make sure you bring lots of water with you... :)

Elk Mountain is a popular hike in Chilliwack. The Elk-Thurston Trail takes hikers 4 km, uphill to an incredible viewpoint overlooking the Fraser Valley. The Elk Mountain lookout provides an endless view that is hard to beat. Cultus Lake and Mount Baker are also prominently featured from the viewpoint.
The Elk-Thurston Ridge, just beyond the Elk Mountain lookout, provides more amazing views of the Chilliwack River Valley, Mount Slesse, Border Peaks, and more.

Snowshoe hike up at Elk Mountain located at Fraser Valley area Chilliwack BC
Elk Mountain is located up at the Fraser Valley area, Chilliwack BC. 8 km round-trip. 800 meters (from sea level 1432 meters). Average time 4 - 5 hours. Rated as Intermediate. It was nice fitting in this snowshoe hike before the snow came. If it wasn't for the bad weather arriving in the late afternoon, would had continue snowshoeing to Thurston Mountain. Don't want to be stuck in the traffic jam on the highway with snow storm arriving! Nice views of the Fraser Valley!

You'll see in this video the amazing view on the top and of curse a group of hungry chipmunks that asking for nuts...Seriously, The cutest thing ever...
It was quite difficult to reach the top with a 4 year old...but we did it! It took us almost 4 hours to get to the top and about 2.5 hours to get down! in spite of all that It totally worth it and we recommend it to everyone...great experience :) Enjoy!

Just got to the top...errr...near top of the hike. There was only just a bit left, but was real content with the ledge spot I found. Followed by a nice cold beer, and then back down I went! About 3 hours, give or take.

My videos are mostly first person view of walks, cities tours, tourist attractions, nature, hikes or anywhere I may be. Also can be used on a tread mill or stationary bike since I will also try to do bike rides. I only record ambient noise of the surroundings. This is especially good as an asmr feel, ideal for relaxing, studying and even sleeping as you just immerse yourself in the sounds. So at times I will also do nature sounds such as rain falling, creeks, falls, wind in trees etc… No vlogging here, sorry. I find vlogs tend to get a bit self-centered at times unless its interesting and educational. You won’t see me here talking about my life or what i had for breakfast before my hike, or how I slept last night in my tent or my emotions. You won’t hear music during the walks, only in my beats videos. It’s one of the reason why i made this channel, when i searched videos on local hikes or walks, all I saw were the face of someone the whole time or music and not the actual trail or scenery itself. I just thought there was a lack of first person view of walks and hikes.
Hence the title of my channel Silence n beats, silence as in the quiet videos I like to do and beats because I produce beats that I like to share. If all you like is the walks you can see my playlist on walks and hikes and if you want to hear my beats, check out that playlist as well. I love music and making my beats, but after too much of it, I like long moments of silence.
