Ellis County Judge Carol Bush takes aim at Constable Mike Jones over support of the 2nd Amendment
Ellis County Judge Carol Bush has taken issue with and set her sights on Ellis County Precinct 4 Constable Mike Jones during the Tuesday, October 13, 2015 Commissioners' Court meeting.
On October 5, Jones posted a meme on his Constable Mike Jones Facebook page that read, The only way to stop this gun violence is for everyone to start carrying at all times regardless of what your state or local gun laws may dictate. Violence must be met with violence. You are an American, start acting like it.
Last week Mike Jones, a county employee, made various posts on his Facebook page in what appears to be his official capacity as Constable of Precinct 4. His various comments were disturbing on many levels. Among them were comments advocating that individuals flagrantly violate state or federal laws by carrying firearms in designated gun free zones, Bush stated while reading from a nearly five-minute pre-written speech.

The Cowboy Church
According to The American Fellowship of Cowboy Churches, the “cowboy church” is a growing phenomenon across the country. Avoiding long sermons and churchy words, it’s country music, tents, and rustic fence visuals emulating cowboy culture!
One of the largest of these churches is the Cowboy Church of Ellis County in Waxahachie, Texas, where, amidst a church calendar of prayer meetings, worship, and Bible study, is a mix of barrel racing and roping practice, as well as this summer’s “Cowabunga!”—a VBS program for kids!
In the “Learning the Ropes Bible” edition recommended by the Cowboy Church, is the analogy of a lariat rope as a necessary tool in a cowboy’s life, citing James 1:22: “But don’t just listen to God’s Word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.”
