Solihull is a town in the West Midlands of England. Historically in Warwickshire, Solihull is a part of the West Midlands conurbation. is the largest town in, and administrative centre of, the larger Metropolitan Borough of Solihull.
Solihull is one of the most affluent areas outside of London. In November 2013, the uSwitch Quality of Life Index named Solihull the best place to live in the United Kingdom. Residents of Solihull and those born in the town are referred to as Silhillians. The motto of Solihull is Urbs in Rure (Town in Country).
A number of main roads pass through Solihull including the A41 Birmingham to Warwick road and the A34 Birmingham to Stratford road. Solihull railway station is on the former Great Western Railway line from Birmingham Snow Hill station to London Paddington although trains now run along the Chiltern Main Line terminating at London Marylebone. The Grand Union Canal passes across Solihull, coming within 1 mi (1.6 km) of the town centre and linking the town to the River Thames in London.

secret bunker or air raid shelter next to Birmingham airport in England UK,
myself my big brother and sister in the 1980's used to play in it as a kid.
Now its full of water and abandoned does anyone know what this was used for,
it's pretty cool, cannot see inside now,
I remember before it was full of water it had multiple rooms and a corridor, would make a cool small underground bungalow house,
I wonder if after all this time it still has my sisters lost shoe inside, i remember my mom going nuts when i sister lost a shoe as it came off in here and was too dark to find.

Should You Visit Solihull Shopping Centre?
The script
I like going to Solihull. It is one of the few places around that you can actually still drive to and park easily. It is 24 miles from where I live but it is quicker to get to and park than Birmingham which is about 8 miles away.
So should you pay it a visit – well have a brief look around and see what you think.
Once you are parked you get to wander into House of Fraser and then into the shopping centre called Mell Square. It’s got the usual stores WH Smith, Boots, , Marks and Spencer.
We’ll go for a quick wander into Marks and Spencer
It’s all privately owned by a very rich evangelical local Christian guy called Lord Edmiston.
Then you get to walk down the high street with more chain shops.
The gem is Touchwood Court a shopping mall that opened in 2001 and houses the flagship John Lewis store. They famously decide to open here rather than the larger Birmingham City Centre.
It’s all about an enjoyable retail experience made more enjoyable by watching the well heeled people of Solihull spending their hard earned cash.
