FUN! Hot springs and the Green Library in Beitou Taipei Taiwan
One of the best experiences in Taiwan taking a short bus ride out of Taipei city and enjoy a day trip to Beitou. The nice relaxing heat of Hot Springs in Beitou, we visited both the public and private hot springs. The Beitou Thermal Valley was cool and no, we couldn't go take a dip in it. I had the best Lu Rou Fan there in Beitou!!!

Day Trip to Beitou Hot Spring
Went to the Beitou Hot Spring today with my exchange friends at National Taiwan University! If you're travelling to Taipei, I'd highly recommend going to Beitou Hot Spring to visit the Hot Spring museum and immerse yourself in a nice Hot Spring bath. To embrace the natural resource of the Hot Spring, check out the Beitou Thermal Valley! You will not regret it!

Beitou Hot Springs Jog in Taiwan [北投]
During my brief stay in Beitou at Hotel Royal, I decided to go for an early morning jog before catching the bullet train to Tainan, Taiwan.
Beitou is the famous hot springs region in Taiwan located just north of Taipei where I stayed a gorgeous hot springs Hotel Royal where my hotel room included a private hot springs bath.
I made one major mistake during my stay in Taiwan; not spending a full day in Beitou, the hot springs region in Taiwan. Beitou has a lot of beautiful nature and many outdoor hot springs you can enjoy and relax your body, mind and soul.
Taiwan is has the largest collection of hot springs in the world, due to the massive tectonic activity in Taiwan. So visiting a hot springs in Taiwan is a bucket list must when visiting this beautiful country.
I arrived late in Beitou due to a long day of filming downtown Taipei but was pleasantly surprised upon notice a full blown hot springs bath inside my hotel suite. The water in my private bath was literally taken from the mountains and was so enjoyable that I fell asleep which is actually quite dangerous.
In early morning I decided to go for a quick jog around the hot springs area along the river which runs straight through Beitou, there was not even enough time to visit the hot springs museum since I had to make my train from Taipei to Tainan that day.
So what I recommend, stay a full day in Beitou and book your night at Hotel Royal which includes the gorgeous onsuite private hot springs with a view of the downtown area of Beitou.

Volcanic Hot Spring at Beitou near Taipei (Xinbeitou hot spring)
In Beitou, a district close to Taipei famous for its hot springs, I found out that the locals, both Chinese and aboriginal, didn’t bathe in the misty rivers initially. In fact they were scared of the geothermal vents that naturally occur in their area and called the steaming lake a “witch”. When the Japanese, during the early years of their colonial rule bathed in streams and pools stark naked, they caused a stir among the locals. Eventually, Japanese efforts to develop and build inns to take advantage of the mineral waters’ health benefits up to 1945 made this town famous all over the country. It has been visited by important local and foreign dignitaries like Sun Yat Sen and Emperor Hirohito.

Introducing the Hot Spring at Beitou, Taipei????
Beitou District is the northernmost of the twelve districts of Taipei City, Taiwan. The historical spelling of the district is Peitou. The name originates from the Ketagalan word Kipatauw, meaning witch. Beitou is the most mountainous and highest of Taipei's districts, encompassing a meadow with rivers running through the valley which have abundant steam rising from them; the result of geothermal warming. The valley is often surrounded by mist shrouding the trees and grass. Beitou is famous for its hot springs.[1] In March 2012, it was named one of the Top 10 Small Tourist Towns by the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan. (Wikipedia)

Taiwan Hot Spring | Guanziling Hot Spring
This weekend I took an offer from a friend of mine to join him at one of the most famous hot springs in Taiwan. Guanziling Hot Spring is an amazing place to visit that is located an hour north of Chiayi City in southern Taiwan. I couldn't of been more relaxed with all the amazing mud hot springs and delicious local food there. If you want to get away for a relaxing weekend, Guanziling Hot Spring is the place to go! My skin has never been so moisturized!
