Emsworth Museum, Hampshire, U.K.
Using space taken from the original Emsworth Fire Station, built in the early 1900's, this charming little museum displays many items & photographs relevent to the history of the area. Its history of Oyster Fishing, & the people who were involved in the busy industry, plus an assortment of nostalgic items of interest.

Emsworth Hampshire England Floods November 9th 2010
Residents have started a clean-up operation after about 40 houses in a Hampshire town were flooded following heavy rainfall.
Some families had to be rescued from their homes by inflatable boats in the Bridge Street and St James Road area of Emsworth on Tuesday.
There were reports of 5ft (1.5m) of floodwater in some homes, which submerged cars parked outside. Fire and rescue crews from across the county were drafted in to help.
Homes were also flooded on the Isle of Wight, roads were closed and two schools were forced to shut. Several other flooding incidents were reported in Denmead and Hayling Island in Hampshire.
COMEDY TOUR OF EMSWORTH
COMEDY
EMSWORTH, Hants., on a Cloudy & Wet July's Day.
The historic Village of Emsworth is a pleasure to walk around, with its mix of traditional & modern shops, welcoming pubs & restaurants & a coastal setting within the Chichester Harbour, famous for its wildlife & natural beauty, also popular with many water activities fans. This day was a mixture of weather conditions, which didn't detract from the interests of the village, but I'll return again, when the sun shines, to continue the exploration & recording of the area & its delights. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy what I've recorded today.

A Taste of Emsworth first DRAFT
thought I would share the first draft of the complete “Taste of Emsworth” film which 30 minutes long. It will be changing over time so this link may disappear, but you can see new versions if you subscribe to my channel
Alas the film is lacking two key sequences
1/ Fishing & oyster dredging as the dredging was banned this year due to low stocks, and the fisherman I was hoping to go out with has sold his boat
2/ Carol singing on the quay with our Lobster pot tree behind was cancelled due to high winds and heavy rain
I will try and update the film over the next year if I can add these sequences.
High Coast and Kvarken Archipelago - UNESCO World Heritage Site
The UNESCO World Heritage site of Sweden's High Coast and Kvarken Archipelago area is a unique geological phenomenon. It's the highest coastline in the world, and was produced by a process known as isostatic land uplift. What does that mean? Well, watch and find out!

Places to go in West Sussex | Parks in West Sussex | Westbourne Park review
Old photographs of Westbourne in West Sussex/Hampshire
Selection of old photographs of the village of Westbourne and surrounding areas in West Sussex and Hampshire. The surrounding areas to Westbourne included here are Aldsworth, Lumley, Emsworth and Racton. These photos were all taken in the year 1902. There are two exceptions to this. Firstly the photo of Racton church was taken 1891. I only realised this when I noticed the date on the poster outside the church advertising Antique Oak Furniture at the Emsworth Town hall on Friday, January 30th, 1891. The other exception is the photo of Ivy Cottage in Westbourne. This photo was taken sometime in the sixties.
The music featured on this video is My World by Alan Parker

Havant - Free Bus Service : Route 74-TF - Top-Deck Front View
Journey from Bosmere Medical Centre - Havant Bus Station, on the Havant Tesco FreeBus.
The official route number is in the title.
Over the last year and a half, this route has gone through several changes. Currently, it is run by Stagecoach South, and is running a much reduced service than in the past. The route is supplemented by the Route 75 Ind Estate SSE Bus, run by Emsworth & District, however, that service is not free (75p per journey, last time I travelled on it).
Video filmed in February 2012 - Havant, Hampshire, UK.
Bus Stops served:
- Havant Bus Station. Bay H (for Town Centre and walk to Rail Station)
- Bulbeck Road (for Burger King)
- Tesco, Solent Road (for Retail Park and Pizza Hut)
- Bosmere Medical Centre (for 24 hour Boots store)
This video shows the return journey - note that the Tesco stop in the Bus Station direction (this video) is unmarked, as most people board buses on the Tesco side of the road, or walk to the 'Bulbeck Road / Solent Road' Bus Stops, on the main Hayling Road - for Routes 30, 31 and 700.
The northbound Bulbeck / Solent Rd Stop is missed by the camera, but is there!
The Tesco stop itself is also served by Route 36 (Emsworth & District - ASDA Leigh Park A3(M) - Southbourne, via Havant & Emsworth).
View is from the front seat on the upper deck.
----------------------------
This route rarely sees a double decker, so I took the opportunity to film.
The bus is one of the older ones of the fleet, accessed by steps, so is not low floor, and no access for wheelchairs, etc; the door is divided into two different height difference sets of steps. The upper deck only has one bell push button, by the steps from the lower deck.
