Enchanted Forest Trail Hike January 25 2015
Kathi and I went on a three hour hike on all the Enchanted Forest Brevard County Florida park trails. I use my GoPro Black 3+ to take about 20 short snippets that I put together using the GoPro video application. The morning temperatures required a light jacket. As the day progressed the jacket was not needed.

Downtown Titusville, FL and Rails to Trails
Good money spent by the city for cyclists, since the Rail Trail unofficially ends in downtown Titusville. Unfortunately for cyclists coming South on the trail, will exit the trail, by two concrete barricades, some drunks, a hooker or two, and maybe a drug deal goin down too, if you're lucky.
St Gabriels Episcaple Church in Titusville FL 1897
An outstanding example of the neo-Gothic architectural style, St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church was built in 1888, on land donated by J. Dunlin Parkinson, a lay reader for the mission, and by Mary E. Titus, the wife of Colonel Henry Titus, who is credited with founding Titusville. The board and batten wood frame building was dedicated on May 31, 1888, as St. John's Church. Later that year, when the congregation learned that memorial windows were being donated, one of which was to picture St. Gabriel, the name was changed to St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church.
All the stained glass windows in the church, with the exception of St. Luke, were made in England and finished in New York at either Lamb and Tiffany's or Gorham's, Fifth Avenue. The windows are considered to be one of the finest collections of Victorian stained glass on the East Coast. The building was remodeled and extended in 1962 to its present configuration. Originally seated for one hundred, the enlarged church building now seats more than two hundred.
St. Gabriel's was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on February 16, 1973.
The bell in the bell tower was donated by the ladies in the church in 1892, and is said to be the largest bell in Brevard County.
In 1992, the congregation, with the assistance of a state grant and community support, generously donated money for a major restoration project to replace support beams, to reroof and repaint the church.

2014 Florida Road Trip
This is the pre-meeting video that I showed for the May 2014 Focus Photo Club meeting. This version doesn't have the toe-tapping Cuban music that Nancy Roach wanted to dance to, but I can't legally include it. Otherwise, it's exactly the same video.
My wife and I took a two and a half week road trip to Florida this past March, stopping at Asheville, NC to see the Biltmore Estate, then on to Charleston, SC where we took a 90 minute Gray Line tour through the city to see some of the amazing antebellum architecture, then spent some time at Folly Beach.
Our next stop was Savannah, GA, where we had initially planned to spend time looking at architecture, and sampling some of the famous goodies at Paula Deen's The Lady and Sons Restaurant. We did neither - we spent most of our time there at Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, and a few hours at Tybee Island (AKA Savannah Beach) to visit their lighthouse.
Our next major stop was Jacksonville, FL to visit my nephew, his dogs, and his girlfriend. We also visited a few beaches to shoot nature.
After a few days there, our next stop was Titusville, FL where we got to spend a good part of two days shooting with photographer friend Libby VanZino who had moved from the Dayton area to Cocoa Beach last year. While staying in Titusville, we shot at Viera Wetlands, the adjacent Dan Click Ponds or Duda Ponds, Brevard County's Enchanted Forest Sanctuary (thanks to Libby for the suggestion!), and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. From there, we trekked across the state to Crawfordville, FL, to see St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge and lighthouse.
Our last sight-seeing stop on the way home was the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea, KY. They have many excellent locally-made items for sale at very reasonable prices. Many are crafted by Berea College students.
